NEWSFLASH
Pitiful humans. Sometimes gods have to put on the cloak of mortality and appear in the flesh for them to understand. The Ginger Man was just the beginning of darkness on the known world. Soon enemies from unknown depths will try to devour the flesh of all mankind. The power of light and darkness is manifesting itself within me and the other gods.
I’ve sent pixies to warn and gather the others.

There are a number of spooky tales from Louisiana, but one of the most enthralling is that of Manchac Swamp. First of all, Manchac is rumoured to be haunted. It’s also rumoured to be the haunt of Rougarou, the Cajun werewolf. As well as that, it’s said to be haunted by Julia Brown, a once practising voodoo priestess, who put a curse on the entire town the day she died. Legend says that on the day of her funeral in 1915, a deadly hurricane ripped through the town, destroying three villages and killing a number of people. A number of curious visitors to the swamp have reported hearing shrill screams from a disembodied woman.
Julia and I were lovers. We time tripped all over the worlds and loved every minute of it. ‘Ju’ was at least 100 years old at the time, but her skin was black like gold and eyes shone like the Euphrates. We were magic; fighting the dark gods in small clubs and wherever we encountered pesky furies. Ju taught Harriet how to cast spells that would curse the loins of slave masters and their families. After we got separated in a riot, she was captured and died. Never did I imagined that I’d spend the rest of eternity longing for my love..

Ginger Bones
The screams and wails of the old woman irritate me. Ginger-man's bones sing a sweet song in my belly. Literally consuming darkness gave me strength I haven’t felt in years. I was injured during a battle between the gods and the humans that led the uprising. My native land was tragically leveled. Mama performed a spell and hid my body in this shell, supposedly to ensure the survival of the gods.
She may have seen in the cards and bones that The Darkness would rise.
GINGER MAN.
Made from mud, ginger and pure unadulterated evil. I discerned that the notion of a child-a son weighed heavily on the old woman. She must have paid hundreds of her lowly salary to various soothsayers, for “readings” about a future son. Seeing him in my mind's eye was much different than smelling him. I could smell his blood pump and pound underneath his skin, such a sweet smell. The under gods had already breathed life into him. That means death, murder and carnage for anyone in his path.

Since when is walking in divine light, considered the occult? An old widow, mixed the wrong potion in hopes of a son, said the wrong incantation and the gods of good (somewhat) sent me to right her wrong. Using and believing in magic should come with an instruction manual or something of the sort. I was in Harlem right before the Renaissance, in the full swing of my 4th life when I had my first ‘trip’.
