I'm a Leodes yume (specifically Messy's Leodes) and the creator of The Sun Suitors, an Odyssey AU where the suitors survive and are sent on a journey to a mysterious island, hoping to redeem themselves and find a happier future.
The AU mainly follows Antinous, Amphinomus, Eurymachus, and Leodes.. though Antinous and Eurymachus are still waiting on proper designs.
Outside of Tumblr, I've been a voice actor for six years, a voice impressionist for two, and a boxer for over a decade, teaching the sport for the past two years.
Some of you may also recognise me as the voice of Aki Sato from The Archives (2019β2023).
And if it wasn't obvious already...
Leodes is my favourite suitor. I don't think I'm beating those allegations anytime soon.
Did you see the Odyssey film yet? If so, what did you think of it?
SPOILERS TO THE ODYSSEY MOVIE
Visually the movie was great, I loved it.
Everything else? SHITE
CASTING? SHITE
STORY? INACCURATE, AND UTTER SHITE
THE CASTS BEHAVIOUR?
SHITESHITESHITE SHITEEEE
I did like that sid the sloth was in the movie. I also likely that when odysseus strung the bow he did the warning pluck and antinous caught onto it and ran like a little bitch
I know this blog is mainly about Leodes, but since Amphinomus is his bf I thought Iβd drop some headcanons about him
β’Both Amphinomusβs father and older brother died in the Trojan War, so Amphinomus had to become the man of the house pretty quickly, having to look after his mother and younger siblings
β’As a result, he became very protective over them
β’When Odysseus failed to return from the Trojan War, Amphinomus didnβt become a suitor for political gain; he genuinely wanted to take care of and protect Penelope and Telemachus
β’This mainly stemmed from the trauma of his father and brother dying, he wanted to be the best father and husband who wouldnβt abandon them
β’Amphinomus actually became close with both Penelope and Telemachus, slipping them secret notes narcing on the other suitors (mainly Antinous)
β’Speaking of Antinous, when he explained his plan to kill Telemachus, Amphinomus didnβt just reject it; he actually got mad at Antinous, which is very rare for him
β’He actually thought about stowing away on Telemachusβs ship, but ultimately decided not to since he didnβt want to do anything without his consent
β’Amphinomus actually tried to heed Odysseusβs warning to leave, but was compelled by Athena to stay.
β’Since the final battle was so chaotic, Telemachus didnβt realize that he killed Amphinomus until the battle was over and when he found out he was devastated, and so was Penelope when she found out
β’Yeah thatβs all I have for now, Amphinomus deserved better, heβs my favorite suitor
I love the idea of Leodes and Amphinomus being boyfriends since in the Odyssey they were the only two (I think?) suitors who were actually decent people
I think they're super cute together sobs
Obviously other ships are fire but amph and leodes will always have a special place in my heart, especially within the AU I am working on right now!
My leodes despite looking rather joyful in the drawings is a rather quiet, kept to himself kinda guy, he doesn't get along with the other suitors and he doesn't care to. He thinks they're disgusting pigs that doesn't deserve the light of day.
Leodes begins losing hope of finding someone to at least befriend that isn't a maid and that when amphinomus pulls up, when he first walked through the doors he was very confident, a line of men behind him, declaring that as the prince of Dulichium, he shall be the one to swoon the queen and take her hand. Leodes grimaces at his behaviour, thinking amphinomus is just another snobby bastard but amphinomus is quickly informed that royal status doesn't mean shit among the suitors and to get in line like the rest of them, amphinomus sighs a breath of relief and instantly drops his confident prince act, already prancing around trying to bond with the other suitors.
This sparks something in leodes, he begins to observe amphinomus alot more, the other suitors like him yes but he's often teased and pushed around despite his royal status and amphinomus doesn't use it to try put the suitors in their place, it confuses leodes, he doesn't understand why someone with such power wouldn't use it when being picked on.
Amphinomus attempts talking to leodes but doesn't get a single reply. For maybe around a month.
When he does get a reply, it was when amphinomus finds leodes wandering the gardens late at night, candle in his hand to help his navigate despite the lanterns still lit among the garden paths. When amph finally catches up he asks why leodes is out so late and at first he doesn't get a respond until they reach a bench, leodes sits down, placing the candle on the floor. Amphinomus settles next to him, deciding that leodes might just want some quiet company. Then leodes admits he's struggling to sleep. The prophecies are like night terrors to him, there's multiple different outcomes that come in his sleep and he can't figure out which one is the path they'll go, it terrifies him. Amphinomus doesn't entirely understand because he's not a prophet or sorts but he did know that when he was younger he had pretty nasty nightmares, his mother would hold him and comfort him till he slept.. So he decided leodes needed that too. When he reached for leodes he instantly jerked away but relaxed into him as amph pulled him closer and eventually he was calm enough to go back to bed and get some rest. After that leodes was more welcoming to amph but not enough to get a genuine conversation out of him. He'd usually offer amph his undrunken wine, or left over food on his plate, or some bracelets that he has that are too big for his wrist. But amph didn't mind he actually liked leodes the most

Hi Leodes, what made you want to become a priest (specifically a priest of Apollo)?
LONG ASS DIALOG COMING
(KEEP IN MIND THIS IS AN AU, NOT AT ALL ACCURATE TO THE ODYSSEY OR ANYTHING)
"When I was but a boy, I knew naught of life beyond incense, hymns, and holy voices. Mine earliest memories are not of games nor revels, but of sanctuaries aglow with sacred flame, where priests and priestesses walked with measured grace, their lips ever moving in prayer. My father was numbered amongst them. My mother likewise. To be born beneath such a roof was to breathe devotion as though it were the very air itself.
I looked upon them with wonder beyond words. There seemed no calling more noble than to stand betwixt mortal folk and the deathless gods, to bear their blessings unto the people and offer the people's gratitude in return. Whilst other children dreamt of glory in battle or crowns upon their brows, I dreamt only of following in the footsteps of those who had reared me.
Thus, whilst yet young, I made a solemn vow unto myself: that I should not allow the legacy of my blood to wither. When the day came that one of my parents should depart this mortal coil, I would take up the sacred prayer beads, bear them with reverence, and continue the work they had so faithfully begun.
Yet vows are oft fulfilled at a dearer price than one expects.
When at last those beads passed into mine own hands, they brought me little triumph. They were heavy, not in weight, but in memory. Every bead had once rested within hands I dearly loved, and now rested within mine because those hands could clasp them no longer. I wore them not with pride, but with mourning.
Scarce had I begun to reckon with my grief when I was summoned unto the palace, charged with a duty I had neither sought nor desired: to court Queen Penelope.
It was... an ill season for such pursuits.
For many months I kept mine own company. I spoke little, save when duty compelled it. At dawn I would emerge to offer the morning rites unto the gods; at dusk I returned to bid them good eve. Before each supper I raised the customary libations and spoke the ancient blessings, as tradition demanded. Beyond these observances, I withdrew once more into silence, keeping my thoughts as close as I kept my prayers.
Many, I think, mistook my distance for coldness. Yet sorrow hath a curious fashion of making even the gentlest soul appear remote.
As for Lord Apollo... I am oft asked why it is unto him that my heart most readily turns.
It's no simple matter to answer.
I honour all the Olympians, as I ever have done. Each god commandeth reverence, each holdeth dominion over gifts most worthy of praise. My prayers are not reserved for one alone.
And yet... no matter how far mine footsteps wander, they ever seem to lead me back unto my lord, Apollo.
Mayhap there is no grand mystery in it. My parents served him faithfully, as did their parents before them. His hymns were the first I learned to sing; his altars the first at which I knelt. His light shone through every corner of my childhood, and his name was spoken daily within our home.
Whether by habit, by blood, or by comfort, I cannot truly say.
Only this I know: when grief cloudeth mine heart, when doubt setteth its hand upon my shoulder, it is ever unto Apollo that I find myself returning. His presence is familiar, like the warmth of home long after its doors have closed behind me.
Perhaps that is reason enough..."
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED HERE BUT I ORAY IT DIDNT FUCK UP MY POST
