Thoughts on Anon meme: "I wonder if Rodimus still has any interest in me. He already has Kup and now Springer as well. He doesn't need a bad influence like me around him and the bits."
Rodimus looks a bit upset. He thought that all the mechs he was with understood how much he cared about them all regardless of the fact that he was polyamorous.

Snowy slopes
Tarn waved back, looking curiously at Ironsides. Rodimus had mentioned there were other sparklings aboard, but he hadn’t met any of them apart from Foxfire and Backtrack.
“It’s a pity Backtrack couldn’t come and I hope he gets well soon, but he’s welcome to try the snow any other time.” Stepping a little closer, he gently poked the blanket-wrapped sparklings. “Hello Foxfire. And nice to meet you, Ironsides.” He was still a little awkward around the bitlets, but he tried his best to look friendly to the newcomer.
“I must admit I never thought of a surfboard.” Tarn commented, turning his attention back to Rodimus and his surfing accessory. “But I guess wheels aren’t so useful in loose snow.” He said, teasingly. Snow and ice weren’t any match for tank treads. “Plenty of hills to choose from.” He said, gesturing around. “Take your pick and we’ll go there!”
Ironsides was one of the most recent bitlets. The only ones younger than him at the moment were the twins and Kup’s own bitty. He stared at Tarn with bright silver optics and then clung a bit tighter to Rodimus with a faint scowl. This one was definitely a mama’s boy. Foxfire had been rather shy and reserved before but he was slowly starting to pull out of it a bit and he waved to Tarn, showing off a new bracelet he had that was blinking with soft white lights.
“I had Perceptor and Brainstorm whip up something in case of emergencies for the kids. The bracelets are set to alert when the temperature drops below a certain amount and they can also send alerts directly to our comms manually. With there being so much snow here, I didn’t want to take the chance of there being an avalanche and not being able to find the kids if we got separated.” Rodimus explained.
It was a bit of a drastic measure, but Rodimus was fiercely protective of his bitties. And even the smallest chance that something bad could happen needed to be covered for, like being separated. The kids were going to be carrying those from this point on regardless of if they were on the ship or not, and if they didn’t feel safe they could use the emergency button to call for their Carrier.
“For the hills, I’d say we should start out fairly small. Set away from some of the others.” He hummed quietly and a small visor dropped down from his helm over his optics so he could better scan the surroundings. “The snow is definitely packed well enough for it, so maybe that one over there?”
He pointed at one of the nearest in the area. There was some bumps he could see from where he was standing even, but as they got closer it would probably even out or be easy enough to avoid on the snow board.
Snowy slopes
The place that Tarn had chosen for their little winter escape was about 5 Breems drive to the south of the DJD base -a formation of abrupt hills overlooking a frozen lake.
Messatine was technically a snow desert, with temperatures that hardly ever went above freezing point, rendering organic life unfeasible. Mechanical lifeforms didn’t have things much easier -the risk of fuel freezing inside their lines and spark entering stasis lock within their cases during the harsher blizzards, a real threat.
However, Tarn had learned to admire and love the unwelcoming planet. The stark contrast between the white landscape and the colourful sky. The blinding shimmer of the snow. The whimsical ice formations that formed where the wind blew strong. They all brought him a sense of peace that was difficult to explain.
The greenish vortex of a space bridge came to life nearby, distracting Tarn from his musings. It seemed that Rodimus was early to their date.
Stepping through, Rodimus only had two of the bitlets with him, but both of them looked happy to be there and in awe of the snow all around. Foxfire was clinging to Ironsides, a blanket wrapped around them both. On Rodimus’ back was a large surf board and he shyly waved as he took it off to set it upright in the snow.
Making his way over to Tarn, he bounced in place a bit. “Backtrack wasn’t feeling too good so I thought he should sit this one out. He’ll have to come for a snow day another night.” Gesturing over his shoulder to the board he’d brought with him, he absently pushed some of the snow around with his foot. “I thought maybe if the hills here are good, I could do a little surfing? If there are some small ones, I could take you and the kids too?”
I want to ride you. I want you to hold my hips and grind me down onto you so I feel every inch of you inside of me. Bruise my hips with how good it feels.
::Hmhm. No problem, I know just the right place.:: Messatine's landscape was varied. He knew a place with steep hills overlooking a frozen lake. ::I'll bring a few insulating tarps as well in case it's too cold for the kids. Tell me when you're ready and I'll send the coordinates for a space bridge.::
::Give me a few hours and I'll have it all set up on my end. I can get some emergency heat packs that we can crack open too. I can bring something to eat as well, we can have a night of it.:: Rodimus smiled softly. It was nice to have date night include the kids.
::I assure you, "lazy kid" is the last word combination people think of when they see you.:: He was happy to hear that the speedster was planning to meet him soon, though. ::That's wonderful. We'll make sure it serves as a good break for you as well. Do you have anyplace in mind?::
If Tarn was there, he'd be able to see how anxious Rodimus was. The little light in his optics as he considered what he could do on a break. No one would see except Tarn and the kids, so it would be safe to relax a little.
::Somewhere with some steep hills.:: He responded quietly, shyly. ::I want to be able to surf...::
::Hello, Rodimus. I was wondering how you and the kids were doing. I hope you're not overworking yourself. The weather has been nice on Messatine lately. If the kids ever want to see the snow, you are welcome to visit.:: - T.
Rodimus smiled faintly and tugged a blanket around himself, his kids piled in his lap in a cuddle puddle. ::I've been getting better at not working as hard. It feels weird though. I want to show people that I'm not some lazy kid and I guess I go a little overboard with it. It's good to hear from you though. I'll try to make my way out to see you soon..::
"Do you mind if I help?" Rodimus' voice is quiet even if he's making sure his steps are a bit louder so Springer won't think he's trying to sneak up on him. - prime-xample
Springer has tried smoking, he's tried a few Chem tabs, and he's tried the purest of his bottles of energon. He's soaked until he damn near stripped his paint off.
Every stretch and medically taught shift.
And all of it failed. Leaving him hazy with aching. A battle he can't win. His armor rattles warnings as his engine gives a sticky grumble of pain," ...you can try..."
Helm buried in his arms with his rotors wilting to either side of his back strut. Unable to straighten them.
springingfromnothing:
Rodimus pushes at something and the sheer heat he produces helps force it to soften. So it clicks audibly and he curses sharply in Camien. Threatening to dent the berth as he flinched. Frame vibrating under Rodimus’ fingers.
His vents rough and ragged as his rotors shift with a groan.
He settles under the affection. Field sullen as he eases back down onto his front. Just now aware he’d pushed up onto his forearms while he’d been trying to compose himself,“ .. S'fine. Had a drink before you showed up.”
He presses his face into his covers. Engine grumbling softer. He still hurts all over but the edges of crippling agony are somewhat dulled now.
The firm pressing turns gentle once the sharp click is heard and Rodimus flinches, pressing close and stroking his rotors gently. Fingers starting to work in little circles upwards and out to coax him to move them to a comfortable position. His own field pulsing gently, protectively. No need to hold up defenses with Rodimus here, he would protect Springer from anything.
“If you want another.. I’ve brought some ‘Thunder in the Night’ with me.” Rodimus smiles faintly, referring to an older blend of high grade. A dark mix that had streaks of light through it when it was shaken up.
Springer rolls his shoulders.
Grunting softly. His rotors are still stiff and throb slightly but he lets Rodimus shift them into line with each other. He lets his field wash over him. Still on edge but he relaxes slightly more.
Letting himself run a new systems check while he recovers.
" Tanks rolling..." He never did fuel well when the pain finally got through to him. Impactir would curse up a storm at him. But usually that meant a shot of something strong to make him sleepy and a forced CR pod recharge.
A few joors later he'd be right back to the fight and hungry enough to put a bar out of business. He peers one optic out finally over his arm," .. Thanks tho."
“Alright.” Rodimus smiles warmly at him, arms curling around Springer fondly as he snuggles in close. He doesn’t really drink so he’d just leave the bottle for Springer to find later. “Need me to keep going? Or should I just keep you warm?”
If nothing else, he makes a wonderful heated blanket, and his field is full of affection as his fingers stroke along Springer’s collar faring.

“Alright... I assume you can take this, but let me know if it’s too much.” Rodimus sounds serious and there’s a gentle sound of clapping. The quick rub of his hands when they come together and the smell of heated metal.
He starts with his fingers light on Springer’s shoulders, hands almost searing hot to the touch for a normal mech. Firm press and rolls of the palm and heel of his hand as he tries to help move things back to the place they should be.
“I’ve been practicing stuff like this for Kup. Can’t get this hot with him but you’re okay right?” He murmurs quietly.
The heat through thick armor is nice.
Even if his touch is excruciating. He bites into his lip. Keeping his helm pressed to the berth as he lets the first roil of nauseating pain pass at being touched and pressed on. His vents rough as his engine groans and stalls a few times with the pain.
" s'fine.. Heat its. It's fine..." Managing that much. His processor knows and trusts Rodimus but a part of his base coding writes with the pain. Wanting to lash out. He taps it down firmly.
“If it actually feels better at some point, that would be ideal.” Rodimus mutters quietly, a furrow in his brow as he works to press and pull at the sections, using the heat to aid the process. “If you need to pause and grab some energon.. or whatever, just let me know.”
He wonders, briefly, if this was something like growing pains. Springer had a special diet after all. Was this happening because he wasn’t getting enough of the nutrients that his frame actually needed.
“You know anything you need, just let us know.” He speaks softly, fingers just a bit gentler as he leans in closer and gives Springer’s helm a nuzzle. “I don’t know enough about what you need and I’d like to help you however I can.”

It's been a while since Kup fully focused on Rodimus, the old mech was quiet for the day, the kids taken to a sitter... the old mech rubbed his servos together and sat off for Rodimus,
Rodimus stretched his arms up over his head with a soft groan, leaning back in his office chair. He groaned quietly as he pushed himself up and moved over to the door, startled when he saw that Kup was actually coming in to meet him. Smiling softly, he reached for the old timer and took his hand giving it a soft squeeze before bringing it to his lips to give it a kiss.
"How did you know I needed to see you?"
Kup vents, "Yes, but for now.. My attention is on you and solely you.." he walks over pulling out a chair for Rodimus offering the seat, "thankyou, love." He helps push Rodimus in before taking the food he made, placing into the warmer to reheat it,
"You've got me to yourself," he pauses, "I apologize I keep repeating myself," Kups servo rises and palms his faceplate being his usual goofiness, it lowers glancing to warmer watching the time go down. When it's done he cuts a piece and places it on Rodimus' and his plate one each. Hes being careful-
The old mech looks up smiling at Rodimus, "Anything new?"
“I don’t mind waiting to get you to myself. The bitlets are a lot of work, and we wanna make sure that Springer is included with us too.” Rodimus reached out to him, wanting to hold Kup’s hand. “Speaking of Spring... his diet was always like this? Will we be able to get some sort of formula for what would be good for the newling? Is there anything that I can do to help?”
He paused to cut into the proto-lasagna, having a small bite and humming happily. Just as good as it looked and it tasted wonderful.
“I might have a lead on where Drift is.” he speaks softly. “I don’t.. want to get my hopes up too much but.. I think we might be able to find him.”

He mutters, "the sensible thing would of to just com you but..." he'd going to give the captian a small squeeze, "this is much better-" he smiled at the kiss to his cheek.. the soft touches to his helm as well, made him warm somewhat. "We may, after this I have to report back to the medbay anyway for some more injections. I haven't told Springer but"
He vents, "the kids got the same energon need he does-" when he pauses to hear Rodimus out he smiles, "oh...no they'll see you..well feel you.." he presses a kiss to Rodimus' helm, "but food first because I'm dying for some of that proto-lasagna I made- I made it a bit spicy just to your liking.." he moved to lead Rodimus away.
He opened the door to a little private room with food on the table, it wasn't Kups usual dinner date ideas the things were put together in the intention to be neat but were off by just a bit,
The same as Springer? Rodimus blinked in surprise but nodded softly in understanding. It might make things a little bit difficult, but this was their bitlet and he’d do whatever he had to in order to make sure it grew up healthy and happy.
“I guess it’s all the more important that we both get plenty of food into us then.” Rodimus kissed his helm absently, looking up when the door was opened. He smiled faintly as he moved in, his optics dim with pleasure. It just felt like home to him. “Its perfect sweet spark.”
