SOHO HOUSE: CHRISTOPHER JONES
“I am often asked about Soho House I have been both a member and also worked for them as a contractor. I refrained from posting much about them as I often asked back but with Covid as a business they are pretty much finished.
Soho House is a private members club for the creative set - Bankers, Journalists, Head Hunters are basically excluded. In London private member clubs are quite common, in addition while it is a network of venues which House is seperate while you can visit other clubs you are not a member of only one. The members of each club vote on who can join after they submit an application and have to be nominated by two members. It is expensive you get nothing free and membership fees start at approximately $1,500 (give or take exchange rates) for this you get access to a Restaurant and bar. The food and drink is not cheap standard prices. Some houses like Shoreditch house have a small pool and Gym. They are also very crowded often you can’t get a seat, well that isn’t a problem at the moment.
The Head Office is just a couple of doors down from Soho House in Greek Street and the staff work in the basement in really ugly open plan offices. There is what is nicknamed the King Table where the founder Nick who is quite eccentric and married to the woman with imo the sexiest voice in the world Kirsty Young. A female version of Sean Connery.
Nick literally holds court and is very eccentric doing things like turning up in a Fez hat. In the same room are designers, architects, product development. They sell their own products, in addition to the Houses there is a rival to Wework, Takeaway Burger outlet (Dirty Burger), Pizza Chain, Chicken Shop, Spa’s. You can pretty much buy everything you find in the houses and the rooms (which are connected to some of the clubs, and a few extra properties).
The design of the Houses is mostly Antique chic;
This is the club that Meghan and Harry frequented in London but they spent the most time in the Farmhouse
It’s not really a secret Meghan met Harry in Toronto at Soho House, she was a member and I saw her there several times. Markus even introduced her and a few friends to our group (my guests are prominent in the industry and were checking out the Toronto production facilities, I just happened to be in Toronto for work).
Harry was in Toronto for the Invinctus games preperation and and was taken to Soho House as a private place to eat and party. Markus did the introductions and of course the spin started early with the whole blind date narrative etc. Trying to present the romantic storyline, rather than the truth she and her group approached them in a bar.
Markus told us the story and the staff who were there also said they same, so since it is the only thing that works from a diary perspective, it must be true, I know it’s boring right, not worthy of a Royal Romance This has never been denied and it is what Markus does and he now often lives with the couple.

The whole timeline about Meghan being in the UK / yacht set never fitted with her shooting schedule on Suits and the chance of Harry being in Toronto for only a short time dropping everything and going on a blind date - yeah right that didn’t happen, Harry going on random unvetted blind dates, just an eighties movie cliche. Can’t make Meghan sound like a barfly who approaches a Prince in a bar.
The whole Meghan and Yacht set etc never made sense as it just didn’t fit in the diaries and fit in with her Suits shooting schedule.
I met Meghan a few times in Soho House, she enquired about my friends (only saw me as a gateway to them) never remembered my name, have met Harry at Military Garden Party, 9/11 service in London, at the Farmhouse and in Toronto with Meghan, never interested in me but wanting to meet my guests. Funny but exactly what Piers Morgan claims she used him for.
Toronto Soho House was quite different than London’s houses with Markus making introductions, my friends liked it as it is more relaxed without the extra expense of bottles and vip tables and Markus brings over women or men which is convenient. He knows everyone and is bisexual.
He joked about Roast Chicken which is a bi/gay sexual position, it was the first time I had heard it and responded with the last chicken st Sainsbury’s gag which he found delicious as he was a massive gossip and reviled in the role.
When I saw the engagement interview I literally spat out my drink when Meghan says Roasting Chicken and gives the sly smile and Harry looks uncomfortable and taking deep breaths.
I laughed in the moment and have never been able to shake why it was roasting chicken, especially for the woke Meghan. Why not making dinner? Like normal people, really you are proposed too by a Prince and what sticks in your mind is Roast Chicken?
Now the gossip and I repeat it is nothing more that bar gossip was that Harry is Bi and liked being roasted, so hence why I struggle to hear anything innocent in that interview.
So that is the delicious gossip about the couple, Meghan used Markus to approach producers and directors, Markus claimed he introduced the couple when Harry was over for Invictus Games preparations. Many people said Harry is bisexual and liked a position called Roast Chicken (all before the engagement) and then strangely Roast Chicken is mentioned in the engagement video.
So it’s no wonder that the three way rumours with Harry/Meghan/Markus exist and don’t be surprised if Markus started it.”
