ooc: Blog Reshuffle!

Hello, I know I've been absent for a while but since the wane of Master Seal, doing long roleplay threads hasn't been the same, though I did enjoy all threads since then!

So I've decided to have a bit of a blog reshuffle, instead of a Lyon rp blog, this will become Lyon's blog. Yes, it's as if the Prince of Grado had his own blog.

I'm still open for little threads and I'm always accepting asks! I've unfollowed a lot of people for now so I can sort through who's active and who isn't, but don't take that as a sign as I don't want to talk to you. I'm having a big sort out!

"Good day Sir Seth, I, err, didn't expect you to be here."

 ”Good day, Prince Lyon” the general greeted the Gradoan prince by bowing down, then got up again to continue.

"Is there anything wrong with me being here?" The paladin asked, surprised by the statement of the Prince. ‘He seems to be nervous’, Seth thought. ‘But why should he be’?

"Oh, my apologies. I believed I was further from the capital then I was."

Inspiration had struck, he could turn this around, though it did mean betraying his father’s secrecy a little. He had kept such a tight lid on the news of his illness for so many months, but now… It would do no harm to confess and he had given this exact reason to General Duessel.

"Forgive me General, I must seem quite foolish. I confess, I was given the task of conveying news to His Majesty King Fado by my father and… I was so eager to travel to Renais, I left of my own accord without a guard being arranged. I hope my actions don’t reflect poorly upon the organisation at the Keep. I just…have not seen Prince Ephraim and Princess Eirika for so long."

"I understand. I’m just glad that you were to reach Renais without being harmed, Prince Lyon. If you would allow me I can accompany you on your way to the capital, it is not far from here. The twins would be leased to see again, may I say so." The paladin smiled at the prince, thankful that nothing had happened to him. It would have been much troublesome if he’d  be harmed in Renais, his father wouldn’t take this easily for sure and the consequences for both the twins and Renais herself would be great. But Seth tried to get rid of that thought, he would make sure the young prince would reach the capital safely.

"And I can assure you that your actions did nothing to the Keep’s organisation, really. Just be more careful next time, Your Majesty."

“Thank you General, I’d be very grateful if you could help me get there.”

If he managed to get to Renais’ capital it would be his first time there. As well as seeing Ephraim and Eirika he could ask about the place in seemingly natural curiosity. Also that meant he got to see Eirika and Ephraim again!  I am always right. You do lack conviction. Lyon visibly flinched. Now was not the time. He didn’t want to go back yet. He had to get to Renais, there was a way of finding this out before they went to war!

“I promise I will. I’m sorry if I’ve proved a burden, if there’s anyway I can make amends…”

'Distinguished knight'? He had heard much praise before but never something like that fro royalty. “You praise me too much, Your Highness. But I fear you are indeed lost, we are right now in Renais, not far afield from the capital. May I ask what you are wandering around here all by yourself? It could have gotten dangerous, Prince Lyon.” He expected such actions -wandering off alone- from his prince but not from the Gradoan, since he seemed to be a wise man.

"My apologies General, I didn't think such a distinguished knight as yourself would be so far from His Majesty's side," Lyon replied, "Or I could just be lost. I've never been to Renais before so perhaps I travelled the wrong way..."

The demon was not going to let him hear the end of this. First he had made a mess of this in Jehanna, then Frelia... Perhaps he wasn't cut out for stealthy work after all. Still, this man might know how Eirika and Ephraim were and he hadn't seen them for so long, any news would be welcome.

"My apologies!" Lyon exclaimed, "I didn’t mean to cause any offence… I was just curious, I’m really sorry. I’ll..leave if you want." He gave a nervous bow and began to step away.

The mistake set his nerves on edge and made panic rise, tightening his chest. It was time to go. Insulting the person you were trying to butter up was not the way to go. This was far beyond his ability to negotiate and there was no way he could bring up the topic of sacred stones with her. What was worse, the demon wasn’t saying anything right now so there was no chance of getting him to warp Lyon out of there.  He needed to get out politely and not causing any incidents, but how?

The young prince’s nervous reaction mader Ismaire feel guilty, he only wanted to know whether or not something about her son was true or not.

"You do not need to apologise, it is I who must. I did not want to be so harsh to you, Prince Lyon, the question caused me to react like this.  Besides, is there anything else you wanted to ask? I fear I cut you unintentionally off.”

He needed to get out. This quest was definitely a failure. He would have liked to have at least found out the location of Jehanna's sacred stone, for scholarly reasons of course... However the idea of war was becoming the best one for getting hold of any of them. The demon was not going to be happy with him.

"It's fine your Majesty... I don't want to keep you or bother you any longer. Curiosity gets the better of me sometimes. until recently I hadn't left Grado's borders.  I didn't mean to anger you like that... Is there anything I can do to make amends?"

Trouble (open post)

At first there didn't seem any cause for alarm. It was a pleasant enough day and the road was free of mud and travellers. Or so Lyon thought as he settled down to rest by the roadside behind a small cluster of trees. 

However as he wondered if this was a good place for a nap he heard footsteps, then a shout. He started, turning to peer through the branches at the road ahead. It sounded like someone was in trouble!

"Good evening, Your Highness. How are you today?"

"I am well General Selena. Is there anything you require of me?"

"M-milord! Are you alright?!" the General said as she placed a hand on his back and with the other hand she held the young man to prevent him from collapsing. The sudden outburst of coughs made the woman’s voice sounding a little bit panic, she didn’t knew what to do, the bigger was the relief she felt as he seemed to stop caughing and started being calm again.

After a while she cautiously started to loose her grip on the Prince until she completely let go off him, but still being attentive. “Should I accompany you to a healer, Your Highness?”

The transition was horrible but the consequences were often worse. He needed to drive attention from himself before he was asked what he could not reply to.  Duty was a good distraction. He would try that first.

"Thank you General Selena, but...I'm fine. I have been summoned by my father, I cannot disappoint him. I also can't help but worry how he is faring... If you would like to come too, I'm sure he wouldn't mind."

She was surprised by the sudden question, and even more surprised by the sudden change of topic. “What my son does is his, and only his, matter. If you want to find out whether it is true or not, then you will have to go and ask him yourself, prince Lyon. I hope my harshness did not offend you and I ask for understanding.” She really didn’t like those question, it kinda implied (at least for her it seems like that) that she is a bad mother and that due to that her son is wandering far from home.

Besides the prince should have known better, when she asked after his father he was very woried that she knew about his state of health. The young prince occurs even more suspicious to her than before.

The look he gave her made her wanting to comfort him and help even more. “Nightmares you say? I am sorry to hear that and I am afraid I cannot really help you with that. My own son used to have nightmares, almost every night they haunted him. What has helped was being comforted by and close to someone that he could trust, he cared for a lot. Also being stressed out or constantly worrying over something or someone played a part in contributing to these nightmares.

All I can do is to suggest you to relax and find someone you seek closeness with or who you can trust.” She really couldn’t do more for the prince, but she hoped he will at least try what she has told him. The loss of peaceful nights had taken a great toll on him, and he clearly needed to just sleep. 

"And prince Lyon… " She wanted him to look at her, Ismaire then proceeded with a warm smile. "… I appreciate that you opened up to me a lot, and I can assure you that everything you have told me will stay a secret between the two of us."

Lyon gave a smile:

"Thank you for your advice your Majesty... Your son was very fortunate to have someone so wise caring for him..." 

He knew very little about the Jehannan royalty but he had heard something about them. This may be his only chance to find out whether it was true or not. He shouldn't let this opportunity go to waste.

"I hope...I'm not causing any offence by asking this but... is it true that your son currently travels about by himself away from court? I've...always been curious how the other princes and princess live...and that's all I know about his highness."

"Yes, I did. And I am pleased to see you back and recovered as well, Your Highness." The knight replied, bowing down before the Gradoan Prince.

At the prince’s strange reaction Orson took a step back, especially the laugh creeped him out. He only intended on making the man feel better, they all had gone through hell after all, but he was just… still not as he was before. It seemed almost as the demon was still inside the boy, but then again he never knew the prince personally, he just assumed he’d be as the royal twins described him to be- calm and rather shy, but good at heart. But not like this.  If he couldn’t convince the prince of a better outcome of things then so be it, it is just like everything he says to Lyon either falls on deaf ears or gets refuted. 

"I understand, Prince Lyon. If you would excuse me, I would like to retreat."

He watched as the knight backed away. Would he go and tell Ephraim and Eirika what he had heard? Would they even believe him? Perhaps, but why would it matter, he was never going to see them again anyway… He stopped laughing and merely watched the Renaitian go. 

"Farewell then, Sir Orson. If you would ever like advice on how people react to someone who's supposedly-dead appearing before them… I’m not really going anywhere."

Hello! Even if we don't rp I love your portrayal of Lyon and I enjoy reading our threads, but it is a bit egocentric because in every thread it's only about Lyon and it's like you don't care about your rp partners. More like they should do nothing more but worry and pity him. Please don't be offended, it's just some critisism C:

I certainly do care about my roleplay partners however as a character, Lyon is very egocentric. He's manipulative and loves having power over people just like he does in game. As for the main threads at the moment:

Ephraim - Lyon killed his father and said some pretty horrid things to him, now he needs Ephraim on his side. Ephraim feels sorry for him so he's going to use that pity to keep his loyalty. Also like in game, he's in love both Eirika and Ephraim so he wants to keep his favour.

Ismaire - He's being a manipulative self because he's hiding the fact he's possessed.

Selena - In my first Selena thread, Lyon was trying to make Selena better and now it's somewhat of an investigation in our current thread. Selena is trying to work out what happened. 

Orson - Lyon isn't even trying to make Orson feel sorry for him. He's self-pitying yes, but he's trying to convince Orson he's a bad person.

Tana - He's there story-wise to find the sacred stone of Frelia so he has to hide his purpose... however he does rather like Tana so he will focus more on her.

If any of my roleplay partners feel like they want to focus on their characters more than we currently do, they can tell me whenever they want.

Now the General worried again due to the Prince’s strange behaviour. She couldn’t tell why she considered it as strange, but the blonde hoped to find out soon.

"Is everything alright, Your Highness? You are acting quite different today…"

For all this child's snivelling that no one cared about him, his servants were becoming increasingly larger annoyances. First the magic-using one who kept asking about morals and now this General. The mage could be dealt with later, unfortunately this female was too valuable to lose.

Such inconveniences were beneath him. The gullible prince could deal with this one.

On instinct, Lyon put his hand over his mouth as he felt control slip back to him. He left out a series of hacking coughs that staggered him as he attempted to regain control of his breathing.

Once he merely gasped he looked up at Selena. Oh gods above, he better think of a good excuse fast.

"We all have done things we are anything but proud of, Prince Lyon, and those things cannot be forgotten, but what is left for us is the hope of being forgiven by those we harmed with the things we have done. As far as I know Princess Eirika and Prince Ephraim have always worried about you and only spoken´well of you, I am sure they will be able to forgive. What has made you done these things is unknown to me, I must admit that and it is most certainly none of my business as well, but I am sure you had only good intentions." He tried to calm the prince, after all he himself had a hard time coping with what has happened and knows how the younger male must feel. The prince doesn’t seem like he has much self-confidence, which makes it even harder for him to stand the guilt.

"As to me I am neither a wiser nor a better man than you, Prince Lyon. I just had enough time to realise what I have done and started making amends, even though that is something I am not able to fully accomplish."

Lyon began to laugh. It sounded a little hysterical even to his own ears, he hid his smile behind his hand but the laughter remained clearly audible.

"If I go anywhere near Ephraim and Eirika I would be killed on sight, if not taken away to a swift execution. There will be no forgiveness after what I've done." 

After a year, no years...he wasn't quite sure, of trying to get back to Magvel from strange shores, he had wished often enough for that swift execution. For someone so helplessly lost and pitifully prepared, it had been a struggle for basic amenities like food and shelter. The gods had returned him for the sole purpose of suffering. How could anyone think otherwise? It was laughable.

"I object Sir Orson, you stand protesting the betterment the man who killed your King out of spite. Not that Ephraim and Eirika would believe that of course, but it's true... I was never just a demon."

"Good evening, Your Highness. How are you today?"

"I am well General Selena. Is there anything you require of me?"

The General was relieved as she heard that, and the blonde already noticed that he indeed looked less pale than he did a few days ago. “No, Your Highness. I just wanted to assure you are doing well for I was worried. It takes a load off my mind hearing you are feeling well again. And I beg for your forgiveness if I was rude in any way” she added and bowed down before Lyon.

"Thank you for your concern General. You weren't rude at all. I'm sorry if I am off a little, erm, sharp."

He looked at Lady Selena, closing his hand about his opposite wrist.

"I've just been a little preoccupied...that's all."
