What are you reading??

have you all read any good essays or books lately? I'm reading Female Chauvinist Pigs, The Pornification of America, All About Love: New Visions, and Modelland because of that fuck-ass song Tyra made. I also have a couple books about diet culture and body neutrality checked out but haven't made much of a dent in either yet. Also also been collecting essays that debate the idea of hyper-femininity as subversive. Also also also started reading Lesbian Heresy for the first time because everyone reacts to Sheila Jeffreys' name like "UUUUGHH" and I want to know why she pisses everyone off

Ive made like 3 new friends over the last few months and it’s been a beautiful reminder that you really never know what’s coming. A few months ago I was crying in my journal about how I felt like no one wanted to be friends with me and a few months later I’ve already been proven wrong. You never know who’ll you’ll meet. 2026 could turn into the year of the friend for you too and you simply don’t know yet bc you haven’t met them yet. You might meet them next week.

All I’m gonna say about the lesbian & bisexual discourse is that you have to understand it sounds tone deaf as hell right now to complain about lesbians not dating you, gay men making snarky comments at the bar, or you not feeling heckin’ queer enough bc you’re a woman married to a man. You are not oppressed by gay people for being attracted and partnered to the opposite sex, even if lesbians and gay men hurt your feelings sometimes. People’s actual rights are under attack rn and I don’t mean their right to a lesbian’s pussy so maybe read the room for a second. “Monosexual privilege” is the stupidest shit I’ve heard in my life.
