Hazel smiled. “Isn’t this great?”
"Fuck yeah, Hazel. Sweet party. No Francis in sight, either. So it looks like the Serial Fuckboi Killer doesn't have to murder tonight. Dance with me!"
Oskar couldn’t help but laugh a little. “That makes one of us.”
"Oskar? Is that you? Dude, sick mask!" She hands him a drink. "Here, loosen up."
"I could do this all fucking night...!"
I'm being myself as a serial fuck-boi killer for Halloween. Look out, Morrison and Francis.
Diego+Kai | Private
All Diego could feel now was a sharp stinging sensation across his left cheek. He gripped it, kind of knowing that was one of the outcomes of daring to kiss her. “Not a pervert!” He grins, pulling his hand away and teasingly rests them on her bum. “Definitely not a pervert.” Diego declares again, looking up at her with such a smug face. Again, another surprise came out of Kai as she pulled him in for another kiss. This one was different though, this kiss didn’t ring of innocent play but of longing and a hint of lust. Diego pulled away, quite confused as to what just happened. “Do you know what you just did?”
When he pulled away, she kept her eyes closed and muttered. "Of course I fucking know what I just did..." Kai bit her lip and rested her forehead against Diego's, practically straddling him from the way that he'd pulled her on top of him earlier. "...Kiss me, again." That was all that she could think to say. With her nose brushing against his lightly, their lips grazing, she pressed another fervent kiss to his lips before he could beat her to it. It was funny-- even in a position like this, she felt the need to be competitive with him.
Diego+Kai | Private
Diego teasingly pouts at her when she cursed at him but he shrugged it off. It was awfully weird for Kai to be so.. opposite today but it was understandable due to a break up. “You don’t always have to act so tough, Kai.” Shaking his head he sighs, teasing her now wouldn’t be any fun. “Quit. Don’t say that— you know it’s not true.” He had to think fast, he knew her confidence was declining and he didn’t want her to be anyone but herself. “You’re going to be like this because of some stupid boy? You’re Princesa Kai, you don’t give a shit about anything— so why is this getting to you?” Diego snorts and leans up to press his lips against hers, tasting the salty tears.
"It is true..." She interrupted him. "He's not just a stupid boy... He was my first everything. Not to mention I think my best friend fucking hates me. I'm a piece of--" He caught her lips with his just before she could finish her sentence of self-hatred. Eyes wide, Kai hesitated as he kissed her. Pulling away to slap him, she breathed heavily. "Pervert!" She wasn't sure how else to respond. The feeling of anyone's lips on hers but Francis' was foreign. Somehow she enjoyed Diego's attention and affection. Perhaps he could take her mind off of the Prince of Liechtenstein, if only for a few minutes. Glancing at him a moment after her palm had stricken his cheek, she grabbed onto his shirt and closed her eyes to lean close and kiss him once again, this time putting in effort and taking her time to familiarize herself with the new sensation-- almost like a new spark, a spark she'd not felt since her freshman year.
Diego+Kai | Private
Diego then knew why Kai’s eyes were stained red with tears. A break up— Diego didn’t even know she has a boyfriend, he definitely didn’t feel bad for flirting though, it was just his personality. “Don’t be sorry.” Shaking his head, he releases the last bit of smoke from his nostrils then flicks the cigarette a few feet behind where they were sitting.
Laying down Diego looks up at the at the pure night sky. He chuckled when she began to scold him, not really paying attention to what she was talking about mostly. Diego let her take off some steam then turned to see she moved away from him. Shaking his head he reaches over and pulls her to him— Kai landed on top of him, he smirks slightly. “If I’m honest, I didn’t hear a damn thing you said Princesa.” Diego looks up at her, his hand wiping a few tears away from her cheeks.
When Diego pulled her on top of him by her wrist, she gasped, her eyes wide once again as she gazed down at him. "Fuck you." Her eyes narrowed for a moment, then softened at his next words and comforting actions. As he wiped her tears, she furrowed her thin eyebrows, her lip trembling. "...Look, I'm sorry, okay? I'm just not feeling like myself. I feel... so empty." She explained as her voice wavered. "I can't hold the tough girl act anymore... not like this." A soft sigh escaped her lips as she closed her eyes. "Kai Mateparae doesn't cry... Who am I, even?" She scoffed a bit at herself. "I'm a fucking loser. That's who I am. A loser that can't fucking do anything right besides smoking weed and ruining things."
Kai+Oskar | Private
Oskar furrowed his eyebrows worriedly. “Fuck,” he murmured to himself. He couldn’t go to the infirmary, not without running the risk of revealing what had happened. He especially wasn’t going to take that chance if Kai wasn’t even sure if there was actually something wrong with it. “No,” he decided aloud. “No, I’m sure it’s fine. I mean, I can breathe from my nose properly. Would I be able to if it were actually broken?”
"Damn, dude..." She grimaced. "Not necessarily." She answered his question. "You need to see a nurse. If you want to lie like you lied to me, just say you tripped on the stairs and ate the marble floor." She shrugged and offered him a smile.
In Professor Rickers' greenhouse.
Francis swallowed, preparing to say what he really thought, but then holding himself back. What she really wanted was for them to lie to each other and themselves. That’s what she was really asking for. But that shouldn’t have shocked or bothered him at all. That was just what they did, it was who they were. And he realized that this mess was his fault, and that the closest thing they could get to away from it was telling themselves that they were. But even after this, they would both know that while things have changed, they never would. They weren’t the kind of people who changed and Francis knew that and she knew that and they both knew that was why he just needed to tell her what she wanted to hear because those were the kind of people they were. They were liars.
"I’ll…I’ll be happy."
It wasn't what she wanted to hear-- but all at once, it was. She forced herself to nod a few times. "Good... Good... That's..." She held back the urge to sniffle. "That's great. Then I will be, too. I promise. I'm not your problem anymore. Go out and love someone, Francis." With that, she stood and rolled the medical-wear attached to her back to her bed, sitting down and keeping her eyes focused on the floor. She was relieved in some ways, but in other ways, she was shattered all over again, and it showed clearly as she began to sob quietly.
"No—Kai, don’t. That’s not true, that’s just not…I’m the one who’s no good for you, and we both know that. Just…Fuck!” Why couldn’t Francis just get over this…this underclassmen. She was just some girl! So why the fuck was his voice wavering—why did he hate the thought that she might not love him anymore kill him when he probably didn’t care for her as much as she cared for him? When she stood up, he started and grabbed her instinctively. “Kai, what the hell?” he asked sharply, widening his eyes.
Francis heard her falter and it actually made his chest tighten for some reason. He sucked in a breath, trying to pretend that the question didn’t hurt him as much as it did. “Dammit Kai,” he whispered, his voice cracking. “I broke up with you. So why the hell do you care so damn much about how I feel?” He just couldn’t understand her. He had caused her so much pain and she didn’t even want to cause him any. She should hate him, want to hurt him—but she doesn’t. It was fucking frustrating.
"I know... I-I know...!" She raised her voice slightly at the mention of him being the one that broke it off. "I can't, Francis, I just can't leave without closure. Why did you do this? Why? It's not because you know you're not good for me. Don't pull that bullshit, because you know that even-- e-even if you weren't, I'd stay by your side! So tell me why..?" Quickly, Kai took her words back and her slender, delicate fingertips found their way to Francis' lips, as if to hush him before he could answer. "Don't... Just... Don't. Tell me that-- that you'll be happy. Tell me that you'll be happy without me. Say it. Say it, and I'll be happy if you're happy." She tested him.
Aggie scratched her head. “Well, I don’t know about your wikipedia page, but mine isn’t always accurate.” She eventually smiled and sighed. She had nothing to ask and nothing to say, but she had to come up with something. “So, what are your hobbies?” She acted as if it was a smart question. It wasn’t.
"Hobbies...? Well... uh..." Kai paused, then grinned and spoke to the tune of 'Next Episode' by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, "Smoke Weed Erry'day." a laugh then escaped her and she shrugged. "I mean, that along with violin, and skateboarding here and there. Fashion, twitter, whatever, dude." Another shrug then ensued before she flipped the switch. "You?"
For a moment Aggie didn’t know what to say and she swallowed, shrugging her shoulders and keeping her smile up. “Well, I thought that maybe I should get to know you a bit better.” Or something, she added in her mind. She was not gonna admit that she was afraid to be alone.
"Uh... Yeah, okay." How awkward. Kai simply shifted in her seat. "What do you want to know, I mean... We're all on Wikipedia. Just look me up on Google." Kai snorted.
Aggie smiled a little bit uncomfortably and took a seat, looking around in the girl’s room. “O, I’m sure you can do it, I mean, you always can, right?” She didn’t really know much about the girl, but maybe she could just say something and see how she would react. “I just had some extra time and thought that maybe you would like help.” She shrugged her shoulders and acted like it was not strange at all.
"Right... Okay, then." Kai raised her brows and grinned. "I'm fine, really." She tossed her notebook as she finished up. "So-- you here for some green? Or? What... Just wanted to hang?"
Francis started a little when she started wheezing, and he couldn’t deny the pang of worry that stabbed his heart when she coughed. He also couldn’t deny the fact that, yes, he was looking at her and no, he couldn’t stop looking at her ever. Whether he felt for her or not, she was still a major part of his life. The only thing he was trying to figure out, the only thing he could actually decide, was whether he wanted her that way or not. And Francis was really bad at making decisions. He rolled over and fully faced her at this point. “No, Kai—I can’t! I can’t stop looking at you and we both know why, all right? I…I…Goddammit!”
Kai was taken aback by Francis' words. It made her feel sick to her stomach in fact. "Don't say that... Are you trying to make me feel worse than I already do?" She muttered quietly, her facial expression softening. "You said didn't want me anymore... I don't know why you said it, or why you had to break my heart, but you did it, and it's done-- we're done. W-We're n-not good for each other." She forced herself to say that last phrase, though her voice cracked and she wasn't able to utter her words head-on. It took her a few moments to consider what to do next, but she decided to swing her legs over the edge of the bed and sit up, taking a hold of the machine she was attached to and rolling it as she stepped forward, so not to be confined to the bed, though it was likely a terrible decision. Kai was wise enough to know that if she detached the chord completely, she likely would have either passed out after a few minutes, or felt shortness of breath. Leaning against the wall with her free-palm pressed to it, she made her way to his bed with small side-steps, where she let her fragile frame collapse at his side, taking a deep breath with her eyes closed before opening them to gaze up at Francis with her oddly large brown eyes, a slight smile forcing itself upon her lips, though her eyebrows furrowed.
"...We may be done... but I can't stop thinking about you, Fran--" She resisted the urge to call him my the pet-name she'd coined him when they first met. "Francis." She corrected herself. "I will move on, if you let me. I'll be okay without you, in the end. The real question here is... will you be okay?" Even now, all Kai really cared about were his feelings.
Aggie tapped on the door, a little bit nervous. She had felt a little bit lonely. Not that she would admit it, but she just needed a little bit of company, didn’t even matter who. “It’s me! Aggie!” She waited patiently until she was invited in. “Do you need any help with your homework?” She didn’t have a specific reason to be here, but helping the girl with her homework would do.
"Hey, Aggie. Sit down on a Bean-Baggie." Kai grinned and motioned for her to make herself comfortable. "Dude, I can do it. It's pretty straight forward homework tonight." She shrugged. "You okay, dude? Kinda weird for you to wanna' help me with homework..."
