She was readying herself for the day; completing her usual morning skin care routine when her phone vibrated against the marble counter, the sound echoing throughout her bathroom. Who could that be? Jessica dried her hands off and reached for the device. Her brow rose as she caught sight of the message displayed on the screen, allowing her finger to swipe the message across to type a reply.

[ sms ] I think I can do all those- Three times a day, huh? Do my eyes deceive me or is someone missing me?

[ sms ] And you’re up at 4 AM because…?

It was a bit of a rarity for Jessica to give out her number to others. However, during her time in a group, she’d met a variety of people via music shows and such, and if she felt comfortable enough, she’d exchange numbers with them in hopes to gain a new friend in the future. Though this number in particular she hadn’t heard from in quite some time.

Jessica stared at the message a little longer than she probably should have. Soon her fingers got to work, typing back a questionable reply.

“There’s been a few moments throughout my life that I’ve felt guilty but there’s one in particular that physically pains me whenever I’m reminded of it. It happened while I was still with Girls’ Generation. My sister was having a rough time with life in general and feeling as lonely as I’ve ever seen her. I was too busy and wrapped up in my own life at the time that I didn’t see her struggling. She’s never one to ask for help or complain when times are tough for her.
