💭 Journaling Prompts 🪐
One of my favourite discoveries of the last months is journaling. I have already posted my evening journaling routine (which I will link here once I figure out how to) so today I want to share some more prompts with you, both daily ones and prompts for certain topics. So here goes!
Morning ☀️
What energy am I bringing into this new day?
Did I dream something? Could there be meaning to that dream?
In what ways can I make time for self care today?
What am I excited for today?
What am I grateful for?
What are my goals for today? What do I need to do in order to reach them?
What little things do I want to be mindful of today? (e.g. eating consciously, paying attention to the breath when stressed, correcting posture when necessary etc.)
"Today in a post-it" (I use this as a way to summarise my day, my goals and intentions and keep a positive affirmation near me. I'll make a full post on this some time soon!)
Evening prompts 🌛
What made me smile today?
In what way did I work towards towards my goals today?
How did my body feel today? (tracking any aches, soreness, maybe your cycle etc.)
How did I perform self care today?
How did I feel mentally? What caused me to feel that way?
How did I make myself proud today?
What did I learn today?
Self love 💕
What qualities do I love most about myself?
What compliments have I gotten recently?
How can I make myself happy?
In what ways have I surprised myself in a positive way recently?
What 20 things make me smile?
What is my love language?
How can I use time for myself in a beneficial way?
Shadow work prompts 💭
Have I wronged others in the past? Why did I do it?
What emotions do I avoid? What could be the reason for that?
In what ways am I lying to myself?
Do I get defensive when someone criticises me?
Who was I hurt by in the past? Do I understand their side of the situation? (This does not apply to abuse etc.!)
Childhood prompts 🐻
Do I consider myself to have had a happy childhood?
Would/do I raise my own children the way I was raised?
What is my earliest memory?
Are there any objects I have kept from when I was a child? Why do I still have them?
Is there a smell/taste etc. that takes me back to my childhood?
What were my favourite games when I was younger? (Playing those games again could be a way to connect with your inner child)
What is the first thing I think of when I remember my childhood?
Random fun prompts 🎉
What colour do you think matches your personality best?
Which animal is most similar to your character in your opinion?
If you close your eyes and imagine your comfort place, what does it look like?
What would you name your autobiography?
If you could live one day in someone else's past but you can only chose either the person or the date, what would your decision be?
What name would you give yourself if you had a different gender?
Alright, I hope these inspired some of you to a journaling session. Let me know if you used any of my prompts!

Femme Fatale Guide: How To Build Your Personal Brand & Self Concept
Discovering, refining, and feeling comfortable with your authentic self is essential for claiming your power and deciding how you want to show up in the world. Here's a beginner's guide to discovering your personality, cultivating your personal brand, and unleashing your divine/dark feminine energy. Tips are below x
Create A 'You' Starter Pack:
A Mood Board
Values List (Try 5 Core Values/Words To Start)
Your Own 'Dream Girl' Archetype
A Personal Manifesto
Write A Recommendation Letter About Yourself (It's a great practice to see yourself from the outside looking in. Once you understand how you want to be perceived, it's time to self-reflect. Allow this introspection creates a roadmap to help you cultivate these qualities. Decide mannerisms and habits to cultivate, a way of dressing, interests to pursue, skillsets to master, etc.)
Ultimately, finding who you are comes down to these main principles:
Your Values
Your Goals/Desires
How You Want To Show Up To The World
The Characteristics That Make You Feel Whole Behind Closed Doors
The Way You Hold Yourself: How do you dress, do your hair and makeup, speak, and interact with others? How do you want others to describe you when you're not in the room? What do you do every day? What interests, skills, careers, academic subjects, and social causes drive you? What characteristics do you strive to embody? How do they align with your personal strength and natural skill sets?
To find your likes & dislikes: Look for confidence and alignment in all areas.
Think about the activities that give you energy and feel effortless once you get into the flow. Is it writing, drawing, a sport, shopping, interior design, reading books, doing your nails, putting together outfits, puzzles, or fitness? Discover the parts of your day and types of tasks that center you. What are you doing when you feel at peace, in flow, and as though time stops? Also, lean into your strengths. Are you naturally good at writing, understanding people, public speaking, singing, dancing, a sport, putting together outfits or spaces, creating Pinterest boards, or doing your makeup? It’s easier to marry passion with an innate skill.
What you would love to do in your free time if you had no responsibilities and would be glad to do for free? Think about building a set of likes like creating your dream job. Would you be a personal chef, dancer, stylist, tennis player, nail artist, professional organizer, book critic, trainer, therapist, scientist, writer etc.? Use your imagination and creativity. Look at the posts you resonate most with and reblog on Tumblr or create boards with Pinterest. See the similarities among your favorite content and why it inspires you.
Another way to discover your likes (and dislikes) is to experiment! What music genres are you listening to and which can you play for something different? What outfits make you feel most confident? What books and TV shows could you spend hours engrossed in? Browse Spotify, YouTube, Pinterest, Tumblr, bookstores (Amazon lol), clothing websites, Netflix, etc. to try out different aesthetics across categories until you find items and content that speaks to your soul.
For finding your dislikes, as obvious as it sounds, do the opposite.
What activities, aesthetics, and content drain your energy? What types of books, music, and TV make you space out? What foods could you happily live without? Subjects in school that you dread? Careers that would be soul-sucking? Outfits and beauty looks that make you feel uncomfortable or not like yourself? Anything that continuously creates resistance no matter how much energy you put into trying to align with it can count as a dislike.
To discover your aesthetic, my advice would be similar:
Picture what your ideal life and self looks like: How would you dress, eat, spend your leisure time, do as a career, decorate your home, do your makeup, read, watch, listen to, study at school if any path was available and guaranteed to provide you a lifetime of success and ease?
Take time to think about the archetypical aesthetics that you admire most and 5-10 words you most want to embody when people describe your look/persona. For example, I’m drawn to the Parisian girl, ‘90s model, classic femme fatale, NYC chic, and minimalist ’that girl’ clean wellness aesthetic. My words are refined, elegant, luxurious, contemporary, worldly, intellectual, cultured, and chic. Find inspiration for every aspect of your aesthetic: Your clothes, home, beauty routine, leisure activities (books you read, music and TV show choices, athletic activities), food preferences, etc. that resonate with you. Create a Pinterest board for each area and then a larger vision board with snippets of each category.
Do you prefer certain colors, silhouettes, aspects of certain cultures, schools of thought, and TV or book archetypes? Lean into how they look, act, speak, and move throughout the world, the routines, habits, and preferences of these ideal figures. Combine different aspects of these archetypes and cultural influences that resonate with you and mind-map them to suit the criteria above.
Remember: This process takes time and will refine itself organically as you learn about yourself. Start with one or two areas of your life and expand from there. Discover what makes you feel good and the brand consistency will come with time and authenticity.
I know romanticizing you’re life is like some corny trend or whatever but I really feel like it helps. I have one life I might as well make it as whimsical as possible.
✨ Romanticising your life ✨
If your life seems boring and mundane, this is the mindset you need! You don't need expensive clothing, beauty products or other items for this as it is purely a switch in your thoughts and the way you view the world.
Here is my two cents on how to best do it:
Gratitude journaling Take some time at the end of the day dedicated to journaling. Have a segment on what was good that particular day. Write down small things that made you happy. (e.g. sunrays falling onto your pillow in the morning, birds chirping as you go to work, buying a new fountain pen and using it for the first time etc.)
Write a list of aesthetic moments Either match this to the aesthetic you're trying to achieve or just generally admiring moments you find aesthetic. Go over this list and look for these things and opportunities to incorporate into your day-to-day life. A list for the "that girl" aesthetic may look like this: waking up to the first sunrays of the day, the feel of a new journal, making a pretty-looking breakfast for yourself to look at only, being the first person in the gym in the morning, ink stains on your hands after journaling, pretty colour-coordinated study notes, the smell of a new book, seeing your breath in the air on an early morning run, ...
Take photos or short videos of romantic moments in your life When you have collected a number of these, make a collage or a short video to summarise all the memories. Try to look at the finished product through the eyes of a stranger. It's only a snippet of your life, viewed through this romanticised lense.
Move into the new mindset Once you have realised how many beautiful little things your life consists of, try to notice them conciously in your everyday life with or without recording them. Find the beauty and special-ness in the details and moments that pass in the blink of an eye.
At the end, don't forget that sometimes life is ugly and bad things happen and that's okay. If you can't find special moments in some or even most days, that's fine too. Sometimes our mental health just makes us blind to what's positive and some people's lives just aren't that pretty in their current circumstances.
This whole idea is only a mental exercise for more positivity, gratitude and appreciation in your life and is in no way, shape or form mandatory.

My dad has a massive vegetable garden and it is his life. Whenever I ask how things are going, he tells me about the garden. Periodically he will text me a picture of the things he's harvested and ask when I'm coming to pick them up. And for a while, the biggest bit of garden gossip has been his nemesis, the gopher. This gopher was consistently ruining his day by pilfering the best of everything just before my dad could harvest it. Anytime I talked to him, all he had to tell me about was "that damned gopher." He dreamt about killing the gopher, his truest enemy. He tried to train the dog to hunt the gopher, but the dog is a pacifist. He led some of the barn cats to the holes, but the barn cats have unionized and refused his offered rate. He then laid no-kill traps (can't risk having poison near the crops) with eventual gophercide in mind, but then suddenly he was faced with a cute and terrified animal and didn't have the heart. He released it. "He was so scared, he'll never come back." The gopher was back the next day, with a vengeance. That was some weeks ago. Today, my dad sent me pictures of his garden, and I saw a squash gently laid by the gopher's hole, like a package left on the doorstep. I said "Dad, what's that squash doing there by the gopher hole?" He said "Oh, he likes squash best." In an effort to appease the gopher, my father now gives him a little squash everyday, like leaving an offering for a garden spirit. This apparently works well as a compromise; the gopher has stopped stealing, content to have his meals delivered to his door.

Sometimes I feel like the way society has structured work makes us endlessly tired and unable to devote energy to other things! There’s not really an easy solution, but maybe we shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves when we’re feeling lazy.

good things to pay attention to more often
the color of trees
clouds and how they look different throughout the day
the different colors the mornings can have. sometimes it's an orange hue and sometimes pink and sometimes it's too misty to tell
pretty color schemes in random places (the trees and your neighbors wooden patio and the color of their car)
the states of the vehicles passing you by, dents and scratches and the different trinkets suspended from their rearview mirrors
the sound of silence
the shadows the lights cast in your home, like how sunset looks different than sunrise, and the shadows the sun casts look different than those of your lamps and candles
pretty details in buildings and houses like certain types of windows or doorknobs or archways
the movement of things in the wind. flags, leaves, flowers, people's hair and coats
