Can Ariana Grande fans please stop pretending this is normal? And no, of course, it's not all of her fans, but over the past few days, I've seen quite a few videos from her current tour where she looks extremely thin. People in the comments point this out and ask things like, "Why is no one intervening?" or "This is really concerning." Almost immediately, someone (whose profile picture is always a photo of her from the sweetener era btw) jumps in and says, "This is actually the healthiest she's ever been." No, it isn't. And deep down, you know that's not true. It doesn't matter what she says publicly; at some point, you have to trust what your own eyes are seeing. What we're looking at is alarming. This is reaching Karen Carpenter levels of concern, and we all know how that story ended (if you don't, you should look it up). If you're truly a huge fan of Ariana, if she's your favorite artist and you genuinely care about her as a person then you shouldn't be encouraging or defending this behavior. If you care about her health, her future, her ability to continue creating music, performing, and living a long life, then concern should come before blind loyalty. Supporting someone doesn't mean denying reality. Sometimes supporting someone means acknowledging that they may need help. Right now, she looks seriously unwell, and pretending otherwise isn't doing her any favors.

i feel like people cheering for ariana and defending saying that she is fine aren't actually her well wishers. sure, its her body and to be a nice netizen we are often expect to not say anything. but it's just concerning as a human..so maybe yeah i openly disagree with anyone who thinks that being that weight is healthy and beyond that we shouldn't discuss it. because this popstar here is one we grew up listening to, girls love her. and her touring like that, makes me feel so sad. while i agree commenting on it won't help her either, but turning a blind eye will literally be "normalizing" being unhealthy. and also bc i've been that teenager who looked up on dainty girls on internet and hoped she could be as small as them. to my eighteen year old, it doesn't matter what others do or how much they weigh. but being 13? 14? 15? ...17? u start to use them as ideal??? im so sure about this, that somewhere some girl right now, who might be secretly struggling with an eating disorder feels so VALIDATED that she's doing okay and maybe this is right bc the culture supports so? no i DONT say that you should pick on celebs. in fact, its actually a compliment when you're in a disordered state when u get told you look thin, bc thats what is the goal...maybe it just pisses me off how there's nothing we can do, but even weird is cheering on them. it's not body "positivity" by any means. we've had so much celebs we lost bc people around them or their team pushed them too much without addressing the right thing. these celebs themselves are businesses, often they're treated less like a human. :(

as a massive ariana grande fan of like 15 years I've gotta say it

her current physical state needs to be talked about. it's not hate, it's not unnecessary and she should not be "left alone"

and no, it's not to help her, because there's nothing that we, the general public can do abt it. it's to help all the girls and women who look up to her and think it's something to aspire to. it's not. she's severely sick.
