1. A is a low-ranking aristocrat. Their parent/s (or guardian) want them to marry up, maybe even as far as the ruler of the whole country, but they have a huge crush on B, a commoner and don’t know what to do about any of it.
2. A is a royal with a reputation for being cold, broody, and blunt. They’re really just anxious, awkward, and have a RBF.
3. A is a member of the palace staff who gets fired. On the last night before they leave, they confess their love to B, their soon to be former employer, and is absolutely floored to hear they feel the same way.
For some spice: A’s feelings aren’t really that deep, but someone dared them to tell B that they liked them so they did.
4. A is the most esteemed jeweler/ tailor /what have you in the country and is very annoyed. The heir, B, will always gush over a certain piece or design, then decide it’s no good and call them back in to fix or change it. One day A tells their assistant C to stay in the studio and just keep working and goes off to deal with the picky royal themself. B is suddenly like a whole new person: one who doesn’t care at all about clothes (or whatever), and a lot about where C is and what they’re doing.
5. A is a royal who wants to get married but their parent keeps blocking them from perfectly eligible suitors by setting up a series of magic puzzles and quests that can only be completed by “”“true love”“”. Yeah, sure. A goes off to win their own hand so that they can decide who to give it to.
