I Have A Theory That Creepy Nuts Are Multiversal Travelers

According to Wikipedia, "Creepy Nuts is a Japanese hip-hop duo consisting of DJ Matsunaga and R-Shitei.

I became aware of them when their song Bling-Bang-Bang-Born was served to me by the almighty youtube algorithm. I dunno if it was popular or whatever, I don't talk to a lotta people.

I later started watching DanDaDan, with their song オトノケ being the OP. That got me reading the manga and-

Wait, is that them?

I've never seen a photo of Matsunaga-san with a perm or whatever you wanna call that hairstyle. But I can't say for sure he's never had one. These two fellas together sure look like Creepy Nuts though. Neat.

Some time passes. We all go on living our lives. One day I decide to watch 不適切にもほどがある. That's kind of a mouthful, let's go with the english title. Extremely Inappropriate. Creepy Nuts' song 二度寝 was used. And, they end up appearing in the show.

No ambiguity this time, it's live-action, they are definitely them just as much as I am definitely me. But my existence is usually limited to the one universe.

I tell a friend about my findings. At this point I just think it's neat that they do cameos like this, but I joke "if they turn up in an episode of Mashle or something I'm gonna start thinking they wander the multiverse."

I haven't noticed them in Mashle.

But I did start watching Call of the Night yesterday. Both the OP and the ED are Creepy Nuts songs.

It's them. Again.

They travel through time, space, other dimensions. They sing for kids in school, and they swim at night in pools.

Not that I'm actively looking for them, if anything at this point they're following me, but have they popped up in other shows? Could we maybe map out some kind of Creepy Nuts-verse?

Or. Is this just a common thing that I'm usually blissfully unaware of because most of the time I don't actually know what musicians look like? Like, maybe if I knew what Yoasobi looked like, I might've noticed a creature that looked like them in Beastars or whatever.

Am I on to something here, or just in the throes of bakanalia?

This came into my head last night.

Realised too late in the process that I ended up with a somewhat CTRL+ALT+DEL art style. I'm at a loss.

Not that anyone cares, but at some point I unshackled myself from adobe stuff. Tried out Gimp for cleaning up my scans and all, but. I don't know how to do anything and also it's somehow slower. Doesn't feel great. More experimenting needed.

do you keep boxes for figures? im finally getting rid of most of mine except for nendos and figmas so that i can store the parts

im tossing up whether to keep the boxes for my scales, cause they take up sooooo much room in my wardrobe (i've only got 4 so far and a very small wardrobe)

i'll probably be moving out in the future but with no current plans (housing crisis ☺️) and i have no plans on reselling

I also have a couple I need to sell because I lost interest in the series so I feel having the box somewhere will help their future owner feel a bit more secure with their purchase

I get it tho those scale figure boxes are HUGE sometimes >_> I have one that's almost as big as my laundry basket like was that really necessary

Hey I can maybe be useful here.

Okay so, I own a lot of action figures. And like the Miku Mod here, I always kept the boxes, figuring they'd be useful if I ever have to move.

If you only ever plan on having a few, this can work.

But if you're like me with an excessive number of figures, this is a TRAP.

They take up a lotta space, as has been said. You're not collecting boxes, are you? Do you want to experience life as a hamster in a cardboard maze?

In my opinion, the boxes should go before they box in your life. If you do have to move home, it's not that hard to make with the bubble wrap so your figures and statues can be transported safely.

As for things like figmas with extra hands and accessories and such like OP mentioned, get some ziplok bags. Or whatever the generic non-brand term for those is.

But once upon a time as I was learning this, I joked to myself "出口 is exit because 出口 the fuck outta here" and unfortunately it stuck. I guess ridiculous mnemonics really do work.

I also tried the calligraphy thing again, as you can see. This pen bleeds right through this paper but I should probably get better at writing before using the good paper.

I feel like I've sometimes seen people say that learning Japanese can be confusing because parts of a sentence can be dropped if the context is already known.

Hey fellas, bit of a weird situation here. Not the type of thing I usually post but this is pretty much my only form of social media and I could use some wisdom from someone who is not me.

I've received a very real looking email saying I need to reset my spotify password due to suspicious activity.

Very real here meaning, the email address it's from is indeed Spotify and the links in the email itself do seem to lead to spotify. (I am at least smart enough not to have clicked them)

The strange part is, to my knowledge I do not have a spotify account. I'm basically against their existence on principle.

So presumably someone used my email address to sign up at some point. For some reason.

How do I make this go away?

Do I need to somehow "claim" the account in order to close it and forever live with the shame that for a brief moment I was the owner of a spotify account? Is there perhaps a customer support email I can contact without having to touch spotify itself?

What wisdom can you share, internet?

There's something about diagonal strokes in kanji handwriting that I can't seem to get right.

It's most obvious in my 雨's raindrops, and it's annoying because I like 雨 and 雪 and 雲 as vocab. Their semantics, sound, etc. I want to be able to write 雪国!!

But I also feel it when writing the first stroke in 手 and 毛, for example.

Even the ミ kana 😭 and I love how it looks and I can't.

It feels unnatural, and I don't think it's a lack of practice. I learned all of those except 毛 in my first year of Japanese.

If I'm really particular about it, I even think it's why the curving strokes in 猫, け, ケ and ナ give me a hard time.

My only theory is that it's got to do with my pencil grip. It's bad lol. But then, if I'm going to switch, I'm going to get worse in handwriting in any language before I get better, if I get better 😂
