Dune: Part Three (2026)
For the ask game, Dune!
Exactly what I needed to prepare for the trailer today!
Favorite Female Character: Alia Atreides, my best girl, my baby, my legally adopted daughter.
Favorite Male Character: hate falling into Frank Herbert’s trap, but I love Duncan Idaho ahaha. I couldn't care less about him in the first book of the saga, actually, but I love the ghola concept, the fucked up relationship with his memories and identity(ies?) is incredibly compelling. Also Hayt and baby Duncan from Heretics are so precious to me.
Least Favorite Character: I genuinely don't understand everyone's fascination with the Harkonnens. They seem to me a bunch of fatphobic, homophobic, flat caricatures. The only one with some kind of depth is Feyd.
Favorite Ship: the good version of AliaxHayt I made in my head. Also tbh whatever Leto and Hwi Noree had going on moved me a lot.
Favorite Friendship: Paul and Duncan... also the little we see of Harah and Alia.
Favorite Quote: NO MORE TERRIBLE DISASTER COULD BEFALL YOUR PEOPLE THAN FOR THEM TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF A HERO!!!
Worst Character Death (if any): Alia's death actually left me shell shocked. Some seriously unnecessary violence there.
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: at the end of the original Dune when I realized that the book was for real criticizing the Chosen One trope.
Saddest Moment: like. 80% of Alia's scenes.
Favorite Location: Sietch Tabr and Alia's temple.
l'amica geniale!
Thankss ✨
Favorite Female Character (swapping these two, hashtag feminism): Lenuccia Greco, obviously. I can't understand people hating her because she sucks, when she has no qualms in showing us readers the pettiest and darkest parts of her soul. I love her for her faults, but also her honesty.
Favorite Male Character: I mean Enzo Scanno is a saint, but I'm quite fond of Antonio Cappuccio tbh
Least Favorite Character: it has to be Sarratore senior, he's disgusting full stop. I find the infamous Nino so pathetic he doesn't even deserve my hate (also tbh I despise how he monopolizes the conversations around these books in certain spaces. Still centering male characters for better or worse, mh?)
Favorite Ship: honestly none aha. LilaxEnzo does give you trust in humanity back, tho.
Favorite Friendship: ...do I even have to write it ahah
Favorite Quote: Lenù's "monologue" about almost making it and Lila's explaining smarginatura.
Worst Character Death (if any): probably Alfonso's
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: actually is that moment from s2 of the show, when Stefano appears to Lila trough the frosted glass door of the bathroom. It's such a perfect transfer to the visual medium of how she describes him in that moment in the book, I literally started cackling. I love the art of adaptation!
Saddest Moment: the reveal(s) of why Lila has decided to vanish and cut ties with Lenù
Favorite Location: opinion heavily influenced by the tv series, but it has to be Ischia. What a vibe. Lenù’s Florence apartment is also amazing.
The joyful boys.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (2022-) | S03E05
Then I came back to Christine. She was waiting for me..."Erik here rose solemnly. Then he continued, but, as he spoke, he was overcome by all his former emotion and began to tremble like a leaf: "Yes, she was waiting for me... waiting for me erect and alive, a real, living bride... as she hoped to be saved..."

the last book i read: The Glimpses of the Moon, basically: romantic comedy, the Edith Wharton way. I didn't exactly enjoyed the too positive ending, but the rest of the book was exquisite.
a book i’d recommend: the last book that blew me away is O pardal é um pássaro azul by Heloneida Studart. A beautiful take on the Brazilian military dictatorship filtered trough magical realism and an all-consuming hopeless love.
a book i couldn’t put down: I had to read Agustina Bazterrica's Tender is the Flesh for a book club and devoured it (aha) in a couple of days; I still don't know if I actually enjoyed of I just wanted it to be over as soon as possibile.
a book i’ve read twice or more: they still talk about my Great English Authoresses of the 19th Century Reread of 2022....
a book on my TBR: I really hope to finally read Moby Dick this summer.
a book i’ve put down: I had to drop Kitchen Confidential because, no disrespect to the translator, the Italian kind of mimicking a clearly US speaking pattern and lexicon felt really jarring. Maybe I'll try again with the original.
a book i’d give to a friend: I can't decide on one... every book I ever liked would be a good gift.
a book of poetry or lyrics that i have: I'm very proud of my Folio Society edition of Keats' poems <3.
a non fiction book i own: I'll go with one from my Austen collection: The Genius of Jane Austen by Paula Byrne, about how contemporary theatre and plays influenced her writing.
what i’m currently reading: L'arte della gioia by Goliarda Sapienza. Incredible read so far.
what i’m planning to read next: I'm eyeing L'Entrager.
