I sense you, follow my lead
Aching to fill, the deepest of needs
Within you, desires revealed
Spreading yourself, to welcome the feel of
My hands locked around you in a loving embrace
Until the end of our days

Wen Kexing, every other episode: I lived bitch
a cinematic reading of all the homoerotic tension of ep 6
a video essay by DiskDreamer, titled “the most hidden secrets”. Link. As also recommended by AvenueX in her livestream.
(for preface and all other posts in this WOH-meta series, click here)
Diskdreamer is a high quality video essay channel on Bilibili. He works in cinema and claims to read more than 10000 words worth of script every day. His video essays are often tongue-in-cheek.
What exactly is the most immortalised moment of Word of Honor? Is it Wen Kexing fanning beneath the moonlight? Is it Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu enjoying the sunlight in the midst of a busy market? The heartbreak of the red wedding? The double cultivation between a white-haired Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu? Each person would have their own answer. But there is one particular sequence that most overlook. Even though it was much discussed, it still has been greatly underestimated.
Yet this episode ought to be seen as the new standard for ‘bromance’ dramas. A classic, a masterclass that will continue to be discussed even in ten years time. That is. Episode 6.
Why episode 6? Compared to the aforementioned moments, the story of episode 6 is more veiled, more hidden. Yet the actual message conveyed is more bold. The director has used classic cinematic language and coded references to complete the most marvelous Chinese BL version of a one night stand. What looks ordinary and plain is fact hiding an entire episode of sexual tension.
This video essay will explore why this episode ought to be immortalised.

Word of Honor really said let's show them how to say I love you without saying it and I think that's beautiful
The Untamed mentioned once the word soulmates and I went feral. Word of Honor throws it around every other episode and I'm getting UNHINGED
Uraraka's crush on Deku sounds a lot like Deku's crush on Bakugou lmao
My favorite thing about Ingredients? The natural chemistry between Jeff and Game that makes you wonder if they're even following the script. There are dozens of well-produced BLs, but very few make you feel like you're intruding on their private lives. Also the food.
deku is the world’s hero but bakugou has always been deku’s hero send tweet
*breaks down your front door* have you heard about our lord and savior ingredients the series
well, Teh's been a clown since season 1 so that's consistent at least
ipytm ep 3
As much as I hate Teh right now, I trust Jai even less. He knows what Teh is going through with Oh-aew, knows that Teh looks up to him, is his mentor. He knew perfectly well what he was doing when he invited him to the play and then brought him to the place he used to go with his ex.
Also, this?
