I quite like space orcs because scifi is always making a point of how delicate humans are compared to other species so it's a funky role reversal. I don't think I'd want it to become a super popular trope tho. I think also, we have no idea what conditions aliens would evolve under, so they would not necessarily be optimised for the same things we are. Maybe we are all Orcs
An interesting take! I agree with you. It's nice to have settings where humans aren't really super weak. Really my only issue is when one species ends up being really super powerful for no good reason.
we owe literally no one more on this planet than the woman behind fantasy name generator
her name is emily and and she runs it all by herself
everyone say thanks emily!!!
I would die for you, emily

So this is a cheat-sheet Iâve made for personal use to just have an overview over all the basic D&D rules. The first page covers most of the text rules. The color divides the sections more or less from one another.
The second page covers most of the important tables and stats, that youâll probably need through the game. Hope you like it and find some use for this! Cheers.
SUPER handy! I might use this for the kiddos in my beginner d&d camp this summer!
I should print those out for players
Random question, but what's your feelings on the whole "humans are space orcs" thing going around this hellsite? I personally hate them. (had to send this twice sorry)
Wow Tumblr is being extra weird tonight. It seems to have eaten my answer.
I donât remember anything about this specifically, so I donât have an opinion, but if you can tell me whatâs up or point me to some posts I give you my opinion.
Ok, thanks for the context @deffinitelynobody. I agree that it's kinda weird and not great. Any reasonable world will have varied natural phenomina, so most species should be somewhat adaptable. Being successful in a way that leads to a roughly human like society that most alien species have in sci-fi requires being able to adapt to different environments and being able to work together. Therefore, there is no way we would be the most badass species in the whole Galaxy.
I can see how humans might appear to be somewhat more chaotic to the galactic society, but it seems weird that humans would be regarded as dangerous.
Overall, I'm not a fan of the idea myself. It seems like people wanting to do something different with their sci-fi (which is good), but picking a weird direction to go with.

Run a campaign about a first contact scenario, except the players are all alien ambassadors who are assigned to the federations newest member, the humans.
A planet where gravity changes it's direction of pull slightly throughout the day
Hey I have a semi deep question anyone got some potential wisdom?
Hit me.
Sweet. Please answer my question.
Which is more powerful? The man who can kill a God, or the man who can slap a God and get away with it?
Id say the one that can slap a good and get away with it. If you slap a god, you have to dodge their anger for the rest of your life (and maybe beyond), but if you kill a god they can't bother you at all.
One for my favorite class
EVERYONE MUST SEE THIS, I JUST MADE ONE
Not sure what the hell is going on 100% but sharing this just in case~
(tbh I always was hoping to make a patreon one day I guess this day is going to be today lol)
Basically theyâre moving to a subscription model so you will have to pay to get the same benefits people get for free now. If you join now, youâll be grandfathered in and wonât have to pay up.
Unfortunately there arenât any good alternatives to Patreon at the moment, so you might as well put your foot in the door while you can.
An alien virus that is nearly undetectable infects the crew. It's only symptom is an inability to look at computer screens without getting a horrible migraine.

The demon appeared in the summoning circle. âCool!â one of the astronauts said. âWe have summoned you,â the other said, âto carry a message to Earth.â The demon glared at them. âWhere. Am. I.â âIn orbit. Tell Ground Control we are okay, but the solar storm killed our radios.â

A reminder that the clothing of the Middle Ages was less brown (and the people were more brown) than often depicted.

Something to repeat to yourself in the shower:
My stories are not for everyone.Â
My stories will bore some readers. Some readers will hate them. Some wonât understand, wonât connect the dots, wonât relate to the characters. Some wonât because they canât, some wonât because they donât want to, but most wonât simple because my stories just arenât for them.
My stories arenât for everyone.
My stories are for me.
And theyâre for the readers who will love them. Theyâre for the reader who have already loved them. For the readers who will see what I see in them and feel the characters and the world the way I do. Theyâre for the readers who wanted these stories before they even knew they existed. Theyâre for the readers theyâll make smile, the readers theyâll stick with, and the readers theyâll save.
And just because my stories arenât for everyone doesnât make them worth any less to the people they are for.Â
Not everyone likes butterflies. Not everyone likes spiders. But the people who love those creatures more than anything else would lose a part of themselves if they didnât exist.Â
So no, my stories are not for everyone. But that doesnât matter.Â
Because theyâre for someone, and to that someone, theyâre irreplaceable.
