TITLE: GOOD VIBRATIONS RATING: EXPLICIT 🔞 PAIRING: JUDE/BETTY THE CHAIR
All Characters In This Fic Are 18+
Jude never thought he’d fall in love with a piece of furniture, but then again he hadn’t ever met a chair like Betty before. It all started when he tagged along with Wyatt and Jonesy to Things That Beep. Jonesy wanted to show off his new employment at one of the mall’s coolest stores with all the latest gadgets. Jude followed them just because he had nothing better to do. After breaking things off with Starr, he often had nothing to do. He spent most of his days in a haze just going through the motions. His job, his personal life, all of it was a smear of grey. So when Jonesy invited him along he really had no excuse not to go. He didn’t expect much, just a tour of fancy things he could never afford, but to his surprise it was there that he met the new love of his life. Standing alone in the corner of the store under a big fancy display was a large comfortable lounge chair donned in sleek black leather. Never one to pass up the opportunity to chillax, Jude hopped right on and stretched out, never expecting the way his life would change by doing so.

you too can throw off the shackles of cringe and puritanism and write chair fucking fic
if i do come back i think im going to really change my approach to how this blog works. i want it to kind of serve as the main 6teen hub, and i want to reblog a lot more, not just gifs/takes/fanart from other accounts, but i think i really want to start reblogging and curating more inspo themed posts for the show (skateboarding, mall culture, 2000's era stuff etc). stuff that inspires me to write and feel like im immersed in the universe of the show exploring the dynamics between characters and the endless potential playground this fandom can offer, stuff that might hopefully encourage other people to do that same. there's not really a lot of fandom sites out there for 6teen fans, so i think i want to be more conscious of really trying to create that kind of fun fansite here for myself (and hopefully others to enjoy).
i was scrolling through my stoked sideblog recently, and i just felt so inspired to create stoked fanworks by it the more i explored it, the mix of canon materials and inspo/setting/visuals/prompts that fit with it... idk it just really unlocks something for me, so i think at bare minimum i want to try to recreate that for this 6teen blog, even if im the only one who ends up appreciating or using it for that kind of purpose.
so that is largely going to be my goal going forward post-hiatus. this blog will be given new purpose/direction as a big hub for all 6teen things, and hopefully it'll help inspire others like it will inspire me
6teen keeps coming back into my mind, and i keep turning over the idea of whether or not to come back from hiatus and dive back into it. on the one hand its been months and months, but on the other, thanks to ADHD and creative blocks, i still feel like i've hardly had a break at all from it because nothing else has taken its place. bit of a pickle.
It’s important to occasionally be a horny pervert on main so your mutuals know it’s okay to be a horny pervert with you
honestly i think it's a bit of a lost art with some younger fans these days to just like............do things? people hold themselves back from making amvs, gifs, writing fic or drawing art, etc etc because "they don't know how" but the truth is a lot of us didn't have that knowledge handed to us, we looked at what other people were doing and then tried to copy that in our own way. and yeah the first hundred thousand words you write are probably going to be kind of shit. and the first gifsets you make will probably be grainy. your amvs will be clumsily edited, and your first year or two of drawing will make you cringe in the future. but if you don't try, you'll never improve! and these days there's so many more resources out there with the internet being so large—art tutorials for specific things, gifmaking guides handed around that compile the steps down the the finest details, writers who talk about their processes, amv makers/vidders who are more than happy to share what transitions or text overlays they use. and i sometimes want to take people by the shoulders and say, just try! take the first leap! the worst you can do is make it badly, and made badly is better than not made at all.
THE 6TEEN ENDLESS REVIVAL CHALLENGE
With 6teen's 20th Anniversary coming up, I thought it would be a good opportunity to try and encourage a little fandom revival. As a fan since the show originally premiered, I hold a lot of affection for the series and have grown up with it. I suspect I'm not the only one out there who remembers the show fondly and wishes there was more activity in the fandom, especially when it comes to new fanworks. I'm hoping this might be a small way to move the needle a little, even if it might take a while to get going.
For me, I've always found prompts and prompt-based fandom week/months/challenges to be really inspiring. It's nice to create something new for a purpose or goal, and to have your stuff be a part of a collective fandom experience. If you've been wanting to get back into it, or thinking about writing for the first time, this could be a good low-stakes way to tip your toes into it!
Three separate prompt lists will be provided: a fandom specific one, a general vibes/themes one and an NSFW one intended for original/older fans. Each list comprises of 12 prompts (with four bonus alternatives for 6teen prompts each). You could commit to one specific list one year, another the next, only do a couple, or you can mix and match between lists, combine various prompts, pick and choose only which ones speak to you—whatever unique playlist you like, really. Ideally, these 36+ prompts can be combined and curated in endless ways, providing potential story ideas for years.
Realistically, I know I am probably the only one who is going to participate, lol. But in the off chance this actually gets something started, additional prompt lists may be added in future years as well.
This collection/challenge as the name implies will always be ongoing/open for participants! Fan artists are also welcome to participate using any of the prompts. Be sure to tag any works for the challenge with #6teenEndlessRevival
You can find more information on the Official AO3 Collection Page.
this scene has been playing on loop in my mind since i first watched it . it’s like a drug.
this is nikki/jude/jonesy to me
ykno it's a bit insane to me how much the 6teen fandom (esp on reddit) largely balks at the idea that jonesy, jude, nikki, etc could ever intentionally be queer-coded to get past censors or that the writers could've ever put queer subtext in meaningfully. or that the judesy stuff actually was put in for more than just being a gay joke.
like, y'all do know that 6teen was created by an openly gay man right???
NIKKI WONG & JONESY GARCIA - ♡ Emotional Growth & Vulnerability ♡
"Snow Job" and "Role Reversal" are the perfect parallel episodes of 6teen with main plots featuring a school dance: The Winter Formal and Sadie Hawkins with the central focus on the show's main couple, Nikki Wong and Jonesy Garcia! Both episodes are pivotal to Nikki and Jonesy's relationship while also serving as a bookend to show how far they've come together in their romantic (and emotional) journey. Nikki and Jonesy are deeply sadden and visibly vulnerable in their respective episodes: Nikki's lingering romantic feelings for Jonesy despite their break-up in early Season 2 and Jonesy feeling hurt and neglected when Nikki takes their relationship for granted. Both ended with a powerful/emotional reconciliation for Nikki and Jonesy. "Snow Job" ended with them finally back together and "Role Reversal" showed how far they've come in emotional maturity.
Me when I try to work on my fanfiction for Tumblr and AO3.
