Bismolite | Welcome Distraction
He glanced up from the papers spread across his desk, and a warm smile crept onto his lips as he saw the familiar head of green hair. Bismuth waited patiently in his doorway, her shoulder pressed against the frame in a lazy manner. As she noticed that he had acknowledged her, she made a mover to enter the room fully.
"What you working on?" She quirked an eyebrow beneath her shades, and leaned over his shoulder to take in the scribbles and scrawls that marked the pages. It didn't even look legible, and yet here Ammolite was, slowly working his way through decoding the pages. Bismuth took a glance ay the inkwell on the desk, and her eyes trailed down to the feathered pen caught between his fingertips. So, not all gems were futuristic and modern, huh.
The pirate took a moment to answer, briefly looking back at his neater, almost calligraphic writing. Jotting down another quick word in his inked swirls, he answered. "Re-Writing Captains' maps," he spoke tiredly, and the various pages sprawled about the desk suggested he'd been at this for hours.
"Can you take a break?" Bismuth suggested shortly, gently laying her hand on the broad curve of his shoulder. As he mulled over the though, ready to politely decline, she leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his temple. His thought process made a sure halt, and his cheeks steadily heat up as he tightened his grip around his pen.
"Well, when you put it that way," the pen was placed down upon the desk with a soft little click, and Bismuth found a bright smile pouncing onto her lips as he turned to face her. She quickly adjusted her dark jacket, ensuring the sleeves wouldn't dare slip down her arms, and moved into his outstretched arms. Gently, she was guided to sit on his lap, and swing her legs over the side of him. Her slender frame fit well with his, and she comfortably pressed against his chest.
Ammolite pressed his head into the crook of her neck, and she could feel him smile against her skin. She was always a welcome distraction for him, no matter the task at hand. He wrapped his arms around her smaller form, gently setting his hands against her waist as he trailed a few feather light kisses against her neck and up her jawbone. He settled with a final kiss against her cheek, and returned to resting his head against her neck.
She absentmindedly tapped at his chest, balling his shirt into her fists - anything to feel closer to him. They sat in silence for a good few minutes, simply content with each others company, before she felt the vibrations of his speech against her skin. His words were muffled and quiet, and she had to ask him to repeat it. When done so, he lifted his head and focused on her shades.
Releasing a single hand from her waist, he lifted it up and gently tugged her shades off. She was never comfortable without them, but they were alone, and therefore exclusions could be made. He stayed quiet for a moment, his amber eyes focusing on the various mixed hues locked her eyes, before finally repeating what he'd said prior to his actions. "Can I get a kiss please?" He asked softly, almost shyly as he offered her a kind smile. His cheeks tinted a slightly darker blue, and Bismuth responded with a small giggle.
Gripping his shirt and ensuring she was secure on his knees, she erased the small gap between them and pressed her lips against his. He reacted slowly, his movements delayed as he pressed his hand against her cheek, her shades loosely dangling from one outstretched finger. Lost for a few moments in their joy, the moment was only broken when she pulled away to take in a breath of air.
The pirate smiled softly, and pressed another sweet kiss against the tip of her nose. He continued to grin as she fumbled to take her glasses from him and slide them back onto her face. Her cheeks were glowing faintly with blush, her embarrassment only worsening the more his attention was focused on her.
When her glasses were settled comfortably on the bridge of her nose, he leaned in again, gently pecking her lips a final time. "I love you," he mentioned softly, his voice dropping into a hushed whisper. Her blush flared up again, but she couldn't stop her lips from quirking up into a smile no matter how hard she fought it.
Mostly due to her own nerves, she didn't respond. He knew she loved him, he didn't need to hear it. Swallowing thickly, she fumbled to get off his lap, and twiddled her fingers once she was stood. Sparing him one last glance, she began edging towards the door. "Get back to work," she fought back her smile as he chuckled heartily and nodded, turning back to his work - but not before sending a wink her way.
And with that, she hurried out of the room, her cheeks glowing a rosy hue and her heart pounding in her chest. She always came with the intent to fluster him, but he always managed to turn the tables. It couldn't be helped.
