What do you think of friends group dynamics between INTP, INFP, ENTP, and ISFP?
ENTP does all the talking and everyone else sits there mildly annoyed at him and not really following along with anything he says.
Same thing happens with our ENTP. -INTP

Representation in Gay Porn, Part III
I’ve spent the last two posts complaining about the lack of proper representation of POC in gay porn. POC are often underrepresented in large gay porn studios, but when they are, it’s often through racist caricatures that portray them as one-dimensional and inferior. Complaining is the only the first part of change, next comes action.
In the part one, I mentioned a positive feedback loop where Eurocentric ideals cause gay porn studios to hire a smaller proportion of POC which in turn strengthens those same Eurocentric ideals. Since most of us don’t own these large studios, we can’t make them hire more POC. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any gay porn studios that hire a proportionate amount of POC either, so we’ll have to try the harder approach: promoting porn stars of color and simply not jacking off to racist porn stars.
After I finished the first two parts of this textpost, I found out that there’s also another reason why gay porn studios do not hire POC: some white gay porn stars, including but not limited to Paul Canon and JD Phoenix, are explicitly racist and refuse to work with actors of color.
Look, I know Paul Canon has a really nice cock, but if we want to use gay porn to weed out racism in the gay community, we’ll need to stop jacking off to these explicitly racist porn stars. If we can decrease their viewership, we can send a message to the gay porn industry that racism will not be tolerated in a community that strives for equality, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc. Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and the countless other POC who founded the gay rights movement would never have tolerated this.
At the same time, it’s important that we promote porn stars of color who often have trouble with being hired by gay porn studios. Follow them on Tumblr, show them your support by sending them a heartwarming message on the internets, or simply just jack off to their videos
Gay porn is just a small factor in the fight against racism in the gay community, but we have to start somewhere. Weeding out racism in gay porn puts us one step closer towards the LGBT community that Marsha P. Johnson had envisioned which accepts all, including people of color.

Representation in Gay Porn, Part II
If you actually wanted to find POC fucking or getting fucked in gay porn, you’re not going to have much luck looking for them in those one-minute clips that Corbin Fisher provides. However, you’ll probably have more luck by looking up “black” or “asian” on RedTube’s search engine (unpopular opinion: RedTube is better than Pornhub). That leads us to our second problem with the representation of POC in gay porn: in the rare moments when they do get represented, they are misrepresented.
Before I go any further, I’d like to point out two caveats. I’m not saying that ALL gay porn studios hire only white actors. I’m saying that enough of them hire a very low proportion of POC that it continues to contribute to racism in the gay community. Likewise, when I talk about how POC are portrayed as racist caricatures in the pornos that they are featured in, I’m not saying that they’re always portrayed that way. However, POC are disproportionately portrayed as these one-dimensional stereotypes often enough that it have real, harmful consequences. The second caveat is that although I am focusing on the portrayal of blacks and East Asians in gay porn, other POC, such as South Asians, Latinos, etc. are also portrayed as their respective racist caricatures more often than not.
Black men have been portrayed as animalistic thugs ever since the Atlantic slave trade. These portrayals of black men have led to countless numbers of them falling victim to police brutality. It has led them face more challenges in getting employed and educated than their white counterparts. Within the gay community, blacks face just as much-- if not more-- discrimination. If we do not substantially decrease the amount of racism that blacks and other POC face within the gay community, it would be a spit in the face to Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson (the founding mothers of the American gay rights movement, who were Latina and Black, respectively). An effective first step would be gay porn.
A quick search on Pornhub’s gay section of the word ‘black’ will reveal a sea of videos of black men portrayed a thugs mercilessly rough-fucking a (usually white) ass. While there’s nothing wrong with jacking off to a video of a dude being impaled by a BBC, there is a problem when this is the only way that black men are portrayed. Black men only have one role in gay porn: to fulfill that racist stereotype of being more of an animal than a human being. I’m not saying the black men should never rough-fuck an ass in gay porn, I’m saying that they must be given more roles than just that.
When black men are portrayed as less than human beings in gay porn, the gay community is more likely to treat them that way. Using inductive reasoning, when the grander media portrays black men as less than human beings, institutionalized racism, such as police brutality, employment inequality, etc., is likely to pose more challenges for the black community.
The portrayal of East Asians in gay porn has contributed to the view that white gays are superior to gay Asians. Before I became a total social justice warrior, I too subscribed to this view even though I was a gay Chinese-American. When I was first exposed to gay porn, the few pornos that I could find with people that looked like me had titles like “Revenge of the Rice” or “Exotic Asian Twink Gives it Up for White Daddy.” Even those without the obviously racist titles usually portrayed Asians as submissive and exotic creatures whose only purpose was to pleasure the white man’s cock.
When Asians are portrayed this way to the gay community through porn, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that gays too often treat fellow gaysians as submissive and exotic but less than their white counterparts. Gay Asians, as with all other gays of color, become well aware through porn that in the eyes of the LGBT community, they are seen as less. It has profound impact on their self-esteem, which is already vulnerable from the homophobia that they face. The rest of this textpost will relate my first-hand experiences of the impact that the portrayal of POC has had on me.
When I understood that being gay was not accepted widely in society and that it was “something that should be a secret” around fifth grade, it dealt a major blow to my self-esteem. As if that weren’t enough, I started to watch gay porn around that time, which inevitably exposed me to the lack of Asians in those big porn studios such as Sean Cody and how people who looked like me were portrayed when they did show up in pornos. I started to understand that people like me were “too ugly” for Sean Cody, and through XVideos I learned that my race was submissive, exotic, passive, and less than equal. While I never saw Asians like me in any other role other than the submissive sex-slave, white people got to be power-bottoms, hole-destroying tops, and every other role in between. Asians, as with other POC, just had one role to fill, which translated to me feeling constricted to this one-dimensional image that gay porn and the grander media had created. Even though I was part of the gay community, I knew that I would be inferior to the white gay. And even when I came to accept my gayness and had come out of the closet, I still felt that I was lesser in the gay community.
Although I eventually I realized that I was not lesser than any other gay (which could be its own textpost), the fact that I could accept my gayness but didn’t feel that I could be fully accepted in the gay community as an Asian is an example of why we must address racism in the LGBT community. While it wasn’t just gay porn that contributed to this, something about the representation of POC in gay porn needs to change if we want to move further.

Representation in Gay Porn, Part I
You don’t have to be following every equality page on Tumblr to know that the lack of roles for POC (people of color) in the media is a major issue for social justice warriors. From multimillion-dollar blockbuster movies to that billboard ad for H&M on the nearest interstate highway, POC are not represented properly. Countless books have been written about this subject. However, I just want to write three textposts about this, not an entire novel. That is why I’ll be focusing on just one particular aspect of the media that isn’t often talked about: gay porn.
Part one of this three-part textpost will focus on large gay porn studios such as Corbin Fisher, Sean Cody, and Next Door Studios. While these three gay porn studios aren’t the three largest studios, they were porn studios that I could get their model demographics without having to pay for an account. It will discuss how the actors for these studios are predominantly white and how that has contributed to racism in the gay community. Part two will discuss the pornos that do feature POC. I’ll discuss the ugly, racist caricatures that are not very subtle and how that has contributed to how I perceive my own Asianness. While parts one and two are just me complaining, part three will be about how we can use gay porn to make the LGBT community a more open place for POC.
For those who don’t masturbate to gay porn very often, let me explain how most large gay porn studios work. In order to (legally) watch their full movies, you’ll have to pay a monthly fee. It’s basically like Netflix, except with the same similar-looking white dudes in the same format as always: lame-ass foreplay, then blowjobs, then fucking either doggy-style or missionary. Most people don’t actually pay this monthly fee, they’ll just jack off to the thirty to sixty-second free clip that the site provides. If they really wanted to watch the whole thing, they’ll just go to PornHub or something like that for free.
These porn studios are typically seen as the cream of the crop in terms of gay porn. They’re the studios with the greatest revenues, which means that they can hire the hottest models… or at least what the gay community perceives as hot (because beauty is the eye of the beholder). However, because they are seen as the crème de la crème by the gay community, they can also subconsciously influence their viewers’ (including the ones who just watch their free clips) definition of sexy. The gay community will start to believe that because they see mostly white men in these big-budget sites, white is the sexiest race. Inversely, because the gay community doesn’t encounter POC on these sites with relatively expensive membership fees, they’ll start to believe that POC just aren’t hot enough for these studios to hire. In response to the gay community’s tastes in men, the studios will just hire a higher proportion of whites. That then feeds back into the positive feedback loop.
This positive feedback loop becomes like the chicken-egg problem. Which came first: major porn studios featuring mostly whites, or our perception that whites are sexier than POC? After a few minutes of “thinking really hard, I guess,” we can conclude that it’s the latter. Major porn studios have existed for only a decade, give or take. The Western ideal that whites are sexier has been here for centuries. It was whites as a whole who have fared better economically and socially than POC for the last few centuries; evolutionarily speaking, we tend to be more attracted to those who are economically and socially better off. Therefore, it comes to no surprise that Eurocentric ideals came before major porn companies.
It seems a bit ironic that the gay community, which has been promoting the notion of equality ever since the birth of the gay rights movement, would have these Eurocentric ideals. It gets even more ironic when people actually write “no blacks, no curry, no rice” on their Grindr (gay Tinder but for hookups) profiles (curry refers to southwest/south Asians, rice refers to East Asians). The blatant racism in the gay community is just a symptom of preconceived Eurocentric ideals that are centuries-old. Lack of representation of POC in large porn studios (which is also a symptom of centuries-old racism) only accentuate it. It’s a reminder that the gay community, despite knowing what it feels like to not be treated as equal, can still cast POC aside for not fitting the definition of attractiveness.
