obviously the idea of a "closeted pride flag" is oxymoronic - it is a flag that cannot be made cannot be used, cannot be touched by the sun. So, then, what we have is a flag that can not exist, should not exist, to represent a state of being that should not have to exist. The most striking visual element present is the hole in the center. Attention is drawn inescapably to absence. All else is muted and anhedonic. The markers of gender are binary and oppressive. Confined to a box, almost square but not quite. There is no joy to be found here.
