when you want other peoples input on stuff but have been repeatedly told that ur trauma is a lie made up for discourse clout : )
xtians who think they’re so heretical bc they aren’t conservatives owe me money
This comment from r/gendercritical is really popular on trans reddit right now and its a shame it hasnt reached tumblr
this is just “gays stole the rainbow” but trans
I love villains but sometimes I look at all of the ant* ant*s in villain fandoms and I’m like maybe I should just try and stop being like this for five minutes
me: yeah I think villains + antags are really interesting and generally I prefer them to more traditionally sympathetic characters. a lot of the time I’ll end up liking the unsympathetic (gay coded) villain more than other characters
villain fandom: oh yeah and also I just want to write horrible things about the hero being abused by them or them abusing others around them
me: nvm actually I only like good nice boys now!
I’m sincerely considering remaking bc [looks around here] wow I need a fresh start

I thought ya’ll might find this interesting. Do take notice that the U.S. Senators’ last raise also spanned 2009 - 2019. It too was the longest the Senate has gone without a raise.
1979 - 1983: $60,662.50 1998 - 1999: $136,700
1983 : $69,800 2000: $141,300
1984: $72,600 2001: $145,100
1985 - 1986: $75,100 2002: $150,000
01/01/87 - 02/03/87: $77,400 2003: $154,700
002/04/87 - 1989: $89,500 2004: $158,100
1990: $98,400 2005: $162,100
08/15/91: $125,100 2006 - 2007: $165,200
1991: $101,900 2008: $169,300
1992: $129,500 2009 - 2019: $174,000
1993 - 1997: $133,600
Based on 2009 data 66% of U.S. Senators were millionaires. I can’t help but wonder if any of those millionaires donate their annual salary to charity. Bear in mind the average full time worker actually works 350 days per year (figuring in 2 weeks of vacation annually & not subtracting national holidays or sick days). From this link: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/29/heres-how-many-days-congress-will-spend-away-from-the-office-in-2018.html see below.
“Out of 261 work days in 2018, the House and the Senate will be in session together for just 121.”
one of the most important things i’ve learned from being in a cult is that the idea that ‘the world is ending any moment now’ is actually dangerous and something used by men in power to keep people in line. once they’ve convinced you that any efforts to better the world are futile, they’ve conquered you. you have the power to change things for the better. and the most dangerous thing you can do is forget that and surrender. that’s how the most selfish people remain in charge. the world didn’t end after world wars one or two. it didn’t end the year 2000. and it didn’t end 2012. even taking scientific reasoning such as violent climate change into account, there’s no telling how long humankind will last thanks to today’s efforts across the planet to combat climate change and sustain life. the world is not ending. we could be here for several decades more, even centuries. there is so much we have yet to discover about how our world works. we should fight for our future’s potential, not give up on the possibility that a better world is possible. revolutionaries of the past only made the changes that they did because they dared to believe the world wasn’t ending and was therefore in need of radical change. tldr: the idea that we shouldn’t fight for what’s right because ‘the world is ending anyway’ is dangerous and used suppress people!
