Literature, History & Culture Inspired Scented Candles
Delaware-based boutique Wether And Gray creates candles inspired by history, art and culture. Their Literary and Culture Candles pay homage to the most beautiful minds in literature. From Edgar Allan Poe to Emily Bronte, each piece uses vegan, non-toxic, food grade, biodegradable wax; while the wicks are coreless for less carbon mushrooming and sooting.
Inspired by the artist, each fragrance represents the author’s essence. Find them in their Etsy shop.

Chemistry Crayons Represent the Hue of Each Chemical Element
Independent boutique Que Interesante prides themselves in creating a union where art and science meet. The artist’s goal is to create an everyday children’s object into an educational and fun experience. She gives each color, its designated chemical element label under the flame test. For example, when lithium undergoes the flame test, it creates a red flame; thus the red crayon is renamed to “Lithium,” the color of an apple.
Instead of naming each crayon after the ordinary colors we have come to learned since childhood, she instills a chemistry experiment, where color theory is far more fun and intelligent. With chemistry expertise and careful attention, she appoints each crayon’s color its appropriate chemical label.
She confesses: “Children play and draw with crayons practically every day, so why not make the experience more educational? This listing is for a set of 48 labels to stick in the crayons in a basic 48 pack of crayons so that while children are coloring, they are also exposed to the names of chemicals that will make those colors! So instead of thinking ‘I want green’ they will think ‘I want Barium Nitrate Ba(NO3)2 Flame’ and then when they take chemistry in high school and their teacher sets some gas on fire and it makes a green color and they ask the class what chemical it was your student will know it was Barium! Genius!”

Stunning Conceptual Scarves Mimic the Wings of Birds
Melbourne-based fashion designer Roza Khamitova (previously featured here) continuously creates a collection of conceptual scarves, which are inspired by the anatomy of the bird. When each piece is worn as a shawl, it creates the illusion of having enormous beautiful feathers and bird wings.
The stunning illustrations on Khamitova’s pieces are hand-painted and digitally printed on non-toxic and a primarily cotton recyclable material, which is itch-free. You can find more designs and colors of her creations at her Etsy shop called Shovava.

Quirky Science Inspired Glassware by Geoff and Kristen Zephyrus
Portland-based couple Kristen and Geoff Zephyrus create quirky science inspired glassware as a full-time job. A trained graphic designer and glass expert from MassArt, Geoff is the artist, while Kristen is the brains, behind the quirky and intelligent collaboration. Their motto is to create “smart gifts for smart people” with a whimsical sensibility.
Scientifically accurate, the glassware pays homage to calculus and chemistry equations. Dabbing into puns, each piece contains the chemistry equation of its designated liquid, i.e., the mug is scripted with the chemical formula of caffeine; whereas the tall glass is etched with “H2O”, the most famous chemical compound.
In addition to the cleverly composed glassware, the duo celebrates some of the most brilliant minds who have contributed to science. Engraved in tall beer glasses are the portraits of Charles Darwin, Nikola Tesla, Marie Curie, Albert Einstein and Rosalind Franklin.
Overall each creation begs the companion of a lab partner to grab a cup of coffee with, have a glass of wine with or a chilled beer. You can find their entire collection in their Etsy shop.
