A final letter to Vault Hunters SMP
This is a bit of a rant from a fan of Vault Hunters. Someone who considered Vault Hunters to be a big part of their life for a good 4 years or so.
Please feel free to ignore this. This is just a personal rant. Just a “final love letter” to VH. It's not a "feel good" kind of post.
This is not meant to spread hate to anyone or anything.
This is just a rant from a random fan.
Vault Hunters was amazing. That's the truth. The pack and the SMP.
I've played it a lot. I've watched it all. And I mean it all. Starting from Sparklez's Season 1, episode 1, till the very last episode of VH of Sparklez and other members. I loved every bit of it.
Pete, Jojo, CPK, H, False, Sparklez, Kara, everyone. I watched them all whenever I could.
This was the "ultimate collab SMP" for me, involving some Hermits, solo streamers and variety streamers (a lot of corners of the Minecraft community I loved). It had tons of my personal favourite creators. Where else could you watch Hermits and other creators like H, Sparklez and Pete interact for hours on end? Probably only on MCC. And that is once a month.
I remember the flood of bits and subs and the inventories cluttering with the trades. The HYPE. "What is this unexpected collab?!", "It's an SMP?!", "Oh this modpack and cast is amazing!", etc.
I remember being excited for every single patch day on the SMP – “what exciting thing will the creators show this time?”.
I remember the final vaults. "What will be the next thing? What new people will join?"
This pack provided me with thousands of hours of entertainment and joy. I mean, it was perfect. Amazing mechanics? Check. Even more amazing creators? Check.
And for all of that, I thank you – the creators, the ex-devs and the community. It was a great ride, but I, as many others had to get off the train after the events unfolded.
VH helped me in moments of stress. It helped me relax, to forget the tough times, and it will hold a little special place in my heart.
It’s a shame it had to end the way it ended, but I guess that’s life. Not everyone is a good person.
Maybe someday we will have something like this again. A bridge between communities and streamers. A hype inducing game. Maybe with a better direction the next time. At least I hope we do.
