Promotion and advertising; Publishers and illustration agencies

I thought i’d list out people I would need to contact when trying to promote or publish my book and other illustration works, but I will be entering a guide to leafy craft in the Macmillan book prize 2015 as well as the two exhibitions i will be promoting it in!

use wix and pay for domain gives the best editing and provides links to my other bogs and etsy shop so its perfect!

make patterns and type phrases to advertise

make thumbnails and design prints, cups, plates, t shirts, plush toys, cards, homeware, see what can be printed onto what stationary etc!

figure out how to do interactive games on book site

get eloise and other little ones to send submissions of art work :)

set up both shops and link into each other

start prints and bags tshirts etc

start looking at places to submit work

Type headers for websites, just experimenting at the mo.The top will be used the bottom not so much! make some more type or organise all work around get sugar paper to make little covers for work to protect and separate.i.e. old work not new thats for portfolios

Preferably need a website with my own domain name so it doesn't have a host site

to do list

1. Photoshop experiments for business cards make a few examples.

2.buy portfolio sleeves and maybe a new one

3. make tumblr avatar and backgrounds for each blog on tumblr and organise

either leafy things and edited things to represents or create type on paper for each.

4. go through to do lists and merge together.

5.make website and type and backgrounds for them on Photoshop for Facebook?, twitter and new tumblr

6. organise all old work scan whats needed again and edit all on Photoshop

7. organise old work by sectors to advertise on website but choose specific ones to advertise or go for it and show loads.

8. make list of stuff to post on professional practice bog! research done since, written work, developments etc!

9. document written bits of evaluation and post on professional practice

10. start on photoshop ideas for zines and promotional techniques! 11. Look on competitions and advertising on submission blogs etc.

Interactive or just good old children’s picture books.

Behold the delicate beauty and cleverness of this interactive Japanese children’s book by Megumi Kajiwara and Tathuhiko Nijima. Entitled Motion Silhouette, the handmade book features white pop-up silhouettes between each page. Shining a light on either side of the silhouettes cast moving shadows onto the pages that help tell the story. Ghosts appear before frightened a sleeper, a train travels down tracks and across the face of the moon, someone makes a wish on a dandelion head and then blows out birthday candles, butterflies flutter and what appears as a tree on one page turns into lightning flashing above a cityscape on another.

Susan Striker & Marion Deuchars two illustrators who have completely re-invented the interactive activity book for children. Love both of these books and shall be discussing them and researching them for my children’s book and my essay!
