The reason most farmers dock (cut off) the tails is to prevent fly strike, an often lethal infection of fly larvae in the rear of the sheep. Without a (VERY FLUFFY) tail for fecal matter to accumulate on, fly strike is almost completely eliminated!
there is a wide variety of similar treatments for farm animals that are entirely for the animals well being pigs get their tail curled and tusks removed as babies so they dont accidentally nip each other while playing or stab each other just walking around- even a small tail nip might be fatal once the other pigs react to the scent of blood goats/cows often have their horns removed as babies as well both for obvious reasons to prevent stabbings but also to prevent them from growing in weird that can cause pain and infection for the animal chickens and other poultry, especially pet ones or hobby farms, might have their flight feathers clipped to prevent them from flying over fences, where their life expectancy is nill outside the farm/owners enclosure

I just saw a short where this comedian Red Richardson (don't know anything about his comedy or politics otherwise, I've never seen him before) touched on something I have said many times...

I get into fights with people about this all the time! They're like "This isn't body shaming!" which is wild because the penis is a body part and you're asserting the size and shape of it is shameful.
Then they're all like, "Well, no, I'M not saying that it is. I'm using THEIR MINDSET to insult them." Babe, you are using the notion that the shape of someone's body makes them a bad person. That's body shaming. Whether it originates with them or with you, you are using the tool of the oppressor. The master's tools will never dismantle the master's house.

every once in a while you need to eat something yummy. or go on a walk. or a trip to the zoo. take a hot shower. cry your eyes out. dance. listen to music. draw for way to long. write. laugh. sit in a cafe with a friend. paint your nails. dye your hair. go on a run. pet a cat
sometimes you need to do things that are cathartic or make yourself feel alive. sometimes you need the reminder of why you’re fighting so hard to stay alive
this is your reminder that just because it makes your symptoms worse, it isn’t always the wrong thing to do. there can be value in these actions
If you think about it too, abled people do it all the time. Deciding to drink to excess at a party knowing they'll have a hangover. Going to a theme park knowing walking all day is going to hurt their feet by the end. We have the right to make those same decisions.

what companies who sell you anti aging stuff don't want you to know is that if you're chill about aging, your perception of attractiveness changes as you get older. there is no "wall" where you suddenly become ugly and unfuckable because in my experience what actually happens is you get into your thirties and suddenly realize that people in their thirties are hot as fuck and the "flaws" that the beauty industry wants you to panic about are a feature not a bug, and based on the std statistics in nursing homes I don't really expect that trajectory to change.

Buster Keaton's first feature film of 1953 was with Charlie Chaplin in "Limelight". Buster called Chaplin "the greatest screen comedian of all time" while Chaplin never even mentions Buster in his own autobiography. Chaplin decided to employ Buster because he needed someone familiar with pantomime and he was readily available. Buster jumped at the opportunity to appear beside "the master". Buster was paid 1,000 dollars for 3 weeks of work. Most of his time was spent watching Chaplin rehearse and re-rehearse their scenes.

Chaplin was known to say that he had helped Buster out, believing that Buster needed work at the time. Which only created a belief until this day that Buster was desperate for work. What he didn't know was that Buster had been doing work on TV and had his own TV show at this time. Chaplin didn't like TV and refused to have any in his house or allow his children to watch. He was also surprised that Buster was in good shape, and after putting down TV, he asked how he had kept in good shape, and he replied, TV. Buster actually took time off from his show and a pay cut to work with Chaplin on Limelight.
