Better Date Than Never
“Keep that as a possibility,” she winked as they walked into the house. She smiled as Alex and Leah interacted and then turned to her date with a soft chuckle. “She was always sneaking up on me because she’s so quiet, so, I needed something to allow me to know when she’s near,” she shrugged as she smiled at Alex.
“I don’t want the limo then,” she shook her head as she went along with the joke, she loved the easy banter she could have with Leah, it was refreshing and honestly, it was probably the reason why she liked her way more than she wass letting on. “Come on, golf carts need to be a thing in a least one of our dates,” she spoke, not fully realizing that she just said that there would be others. Getting out of the truck with her help, she laughed and nodded. “Alright, alright. I am hurrying,” she quickly let out as she followed Leah towards the restaurant.
"Basically, your sister's a ninja, right?" Leah laughed, and she loved Taylor's laugh. She loved how they were just joking and poking one another with teasing taunts. "I guess the limo goes to the next girl I have a date with. Your loss, Beautiful." SHe returned the wink with a laugh. Raising an eyebrow as she got into her truck, she smirked. "One of our dates? Can't exactly say no to you, Beautiful. I'm not sure if it's your face, dimples, voice, or a combination of all three, either." Heading into the place, she gave them her last name, and they took Leah and Taylor to the back window, which had a view over Portland. She thanked them, and pulled out a chair for the detective, kissing her cheek. "Doesn't quite beat strip poker and beer, but it'll do, right?"
Better Date Than Never
“Calm myself? Oh, I’m going to jump you before dinner or did you mean that it’ll be you wanting to jump me?” She smirked again as she leaned slightly into the kiss to her cheek as a soft smile crossed her features. Looking down to the bouquet, she grinned and took the one for her. “Thank you, gorgeous,” she spoke. “Come in for a moment while I put these in water, you can give those to Alex and then we can go,” she replied as she took a few steps back into the house and called out to Alex. Once they were in water, she moved to Alex, kissed the top of her head and told her to call her if she needed her, but she knew the younger girl honestly wouldn’t disturb her date for anything. Following Leah to her truck, she laughed. “No limo?” She quirked a brow. “Oh, well, then date offer is withdrawn sorry, can’t date anyone that isn’t willing to get a limo for the first date,” she laughed. “Seriously, I really don’t care, you could have shown up in a golf cart and it’d still be okay.”
"We can always just pull over and jump one another?" Leah stepped inside and waved to the Italian girl in the kitchen, who gave a wave back, though said nothing. "Hello again, Gorgous." It smelled good and Leah was going to have a hard time leaving the house for another meal. "Nice bells, Jingles. Where'd you get them?" Alex had nodded to Taylor as she twisted her wrist to get them to go a little more. "You gave your sister bells?" SHe raised a curious eyebrow on the matter.
No, ALex wouldn't call Taylor, but she had a feeling her 'sister' knew that. "Sorry, Dimples. You gotta prove you're worth the limo." She winked at her, teasing. As she pulled out, she just laughed. "Golf carts sound like a lot of fun. I'll consider it." And she headed to the restaurant, pulling into the parking lot. She opened Taylor's door for her, offering a hand. "As cute as your ass is, hurry, because I'm freezing my equally cute ass off." She was only reasing, but she also couldn't keep her eyes from Taylor; she was breath taking.
Better Date Than Never
Although Taylor was amused by the dress that got delivered to the station, she was also a little confused, because the last thing she knew was that their ‘date’ was going to consist of something not so flashy and this outfit was definitely the opposite of what the woman had suggested they’d be doing. And of course it brought a whole bunch of teasing from her partner and team that she causally brushed off and took notice of, because at least she had a date unlike some of their sorry asses. After getting ready – with the help of Alex – she sat comfortably on the couch as she waited for the other woman to arrive. Finally there was a knock on her door and she stood quickly, ran her hands through her hair, while smoothing her dress before making her way to the door, opening it, she was far from ashamed from giving Leah the once over before looking back up to her eyes with a smirk. “Hello to you too.”
"Calm yourself, Beautiful. Keep looking at me like that, and you'll jump me before dinner." She placed a hand on Taylor's waist and kissed her cheek, clearly looking her over, as well. "For you - and these are for Jingle Bells." She explained, holding up both bouquets; the one for Alex was an edible one. "Why should only you get good food tonight? I think these are badass." She laughed. Once the flowers were dealt with, she took Taylor by the arm and lead her to her truck, opening the door for her and helping her in. "Sorry it's not a limo or anything." She saved the limo for another time - after all, playing all the cards at once wasn’t suave.
“What?” She quickly let out like Leah was mad for doing so, but honestly she understood why she did it. “Leah, I’m not…. I’m not going to,” she replied as she averted her gaze to somewhere else, but then looked to the nutella that was being offered to her and she shook her head. “I got that covered,” she spoke as she raised her coffee in the air and took a sip. “You’re trying and that’s really all I can ask of you. I’m sorry for what I said too… for lashing out at you.”
"You shouldn't be sorry for saying how you feel, Hallie.." She shrugged, setting the nutella down. "Can you really blame me? Melissa- she wans't.. until she did. I don't know, that's..just how it plays in my mind. I would be so lost without you.." She pulled her sister into a hug, kissing her cheek and temple and top of her head. "I love you, you know that, right?"
How many instruments do you play?
That depends on your definition of play, Gorgeous/Handsome! Ask me to pick up any band instrument - including strings - and I could easily play the scales and arpeggios. I know, I'm badass.
But as for legitimately being able to sit down and play a decently difficult piece of music? The piano.
“It tastes good too,” Hallie shrugged as she tilted her head and watched her sister walk further into the kitchen, shifting from one foot to the other, she leaned back against the counter herself. “Okay, you start, because I don’t even know where to even begin,” she spoke as she blew out a breath. “I hate it when we fight, Leah… and it got way too intense.”
Leah debated it for a moment before deciding a spoon and nutella sounded like a much better idea. "You know I..watch you breathe sometimes?" She looked briefly down at the floor before looking up at Hallie. "Just once in a while, but..I do it every night when we fight.. Just to make sure you are.. Breathing...." She stole a small spoonful of chocolate. "So..yeah, it got.... really intense." She took a deep breath, offering some nutella to her sister. "Things were said... and look, I know I haven't been the best sister to you. I've done some..really fucked up things. And I'm so sorry, Hails."
Better Date Than Never
Leah had promised strip poker and beer - instead, she sent Taylor a dress and booked them a reservation at a quaint little restaurant with a lovely view. And then, maybe, strip poker and beer. Leah could be a little romantic, but she was still Leah; romance was sometimes a bottle of beer, laying naked and cuddling in bed while watching a movie. She dressed up, herself, of course, her truck didn't exactly scream romance. But it did scream Leah, and she very much needed the space in the back when she transferred instruments and music equipment. She pulled up to Taylor's house, admiring the huge van in the driveway - her sister was probably home. She was curious about Alex, though it wasn't really her place to say. She got out of her truck, despite the freezing air and knocked on Taylor's door with two small bouquet's; one for Taylor and a less romantic looking one for her sister. “Evening, Beautiful.”

“Well, I thought it was a little strange for you to be asking, but thought you had a change of heart with the coffee, I dunno. What do you want to talk about?”
"It smells good if that means anything?" Leah walked further into their kitchen and leaned against a counter, making sure to keep her arms unfolded; she wanted to come off open and not defensive or closed off. "Our fight? The fact we haven't spoken in two weeks? And without the messy of alcohol this time." She took a breath and offered her sister a smile. "And I want to start by saying I'm sorry.."
“Oh, are we speaking now? Or did you just want the drink?”
"Since when do I really enjoy coffee? I just thought we could talk, Hallie. It’s long overdo. Wouldn’t you agree?"
Just made the best nutella blended coffee ever. Like I am basically in heaven.
"Can I have one?.."
Yes, for sure! I think all the things and want to do all the things with you, babe. Just going to end up being one of those swooning people that can’t get enough of you.
Occasionally you do, yes. Go easy on her please…
Yeah, but hey, at least you're first in line, right? I think it was the dimples.
Only occasionally? Damn. Well, I guess I am only practically perfect in every way. Still can't cook, though. Whoa, hey, I mean..I'm pretty bad with flirting, but I'd never actually do sisters. That's not even okay. I just call her gorgeous like everyone else. Mostly. There may of been a handcuff joke in ther. Or two. You've got good genes in your family, though, Beautiful. Just like I do.
Please, I was always going to ask you out, even if I said I wasn’t. I wouldn’t exactly call it begging on my knees, but that’s exactly where you want me. I’ll remember that for next time.
I see your point, babe.
See, I know that. I'm charming. You think I'm charming. You think I'm gorgeous. You want to kiss me. You want to go on a date with me. You want to sex me. You even want to do the high school thing again.
That's because I make good points, Beautiful. Oh, your sister gets flustered easily. I called her gorgeous and she dind't even know what to do with herself.
Which was basically my plan from start to finish. I’m so glad that it worked so well. I bet you would really like that, huh?
That’s is definitely good to know for future reference.
And my plan of you seeking me out worked perfectly from start to finish. A few inconsiderate criminals getting in the way, but in the end, you went from never going to ask me out, to practically begging on your knees. And you know I would. Next time you should lock the door.
Hey, if your dimples are showing, it means you're smiling, and if you're smiling or laughing around me, it means I did something to bring that about. So I'm more than okay with that, Beautiful.
Yeah, yeah, okay, you caught me, that is totally what I was thinking when I first saw you. Please, you wanted me to jump you in your office and was completely frustrated that the student walked in on us.
Well, now I know how to get away with things around you. Flash my dimples and you’ll go weak at the knees.
Only because you got me frustrated! You're still welcome to stop by and jump me anytime, Beautiful.
That's basically it. Your dimples come with your smile, so it's a double hit. It's very effective. A wild Leah fainted?
