At 2am, I though 3 dynamics + male female secondary is stupid when there is an entire Greek alphabet to use instead. Thank you ‘It’s 2am! I need to sleep! Stop thinking!’  thoughts.

Most of this is just for medical use in my Omega-verse. 

No one uses medical dynamic names in daily use. They stick more to using a main Dynamic names (α, ζ, λ, ξ, τ, ω).

It is not uncommon for a  ζZeta to go by αAlpha or vice versa. Same goes for  τTau and ωOmega It is far less common for someone to claim to be a τTau or ωOmega when they are a  ζ Zeta or αAlpha / vice versa, or a  λLambda / ξXi to claim to be anything else.

Can heat/rut cycles malfunction due to extreme emotional/physical trauma?

I was going to give you an example involving my Zeta character Alyssa, but I’m afraid that would make you EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

I know that you included those who don’t heat or rut in the alphabet, so does trauma, no matter what type, cause that certain status. (Forgot the names, except for Iota)

Iota is only used as a medical term to mean a zeta that cannot have ruts naturally. Ruts are basically caused by a build up of a fictional hormone.

Trauma has been known to cause hormone issues in some people. Especially childhood trauma that can cause development issues. This does not happen to every person that has a traumatic experience. It is possible for trauma to lead to a zeta being classified as an Iota, but it's not a guarantee thing to happen for every trauma victim. If there is hormone treatments in your setting to help them stay balanced, they are an Iota because medical help is not natural. it's why I refer to it as a medical term.

Most Iota are just older zetas whos bodies no longer makes enough fictional hormone to start a rut.

You’re right, couples like Zeta/Omega or Alpha/Tau will ALWAYS have Xi or Lambda children because the other parent doesn’t have any extra A or O chromosomes to pass

Yep. I use N and S instead of A O 1. A O makes me think of blood types 2. it implies the Alpha and Omega gene, but in my setting that would be sexist.

I think my way of adding little n and s solves that problem though.

Okay I'm back and with a better equation to determine the XY population over time.

XY=(0.5*2*(1-Z)*A1)+((2/3)*Z*1*A1).

Z = total rate of Zeta + XX and Omega + XY couples

A1 = starting population

If one puts the starting population in A1, and puts the equation in google sheets in a row, they can see the change in XY genotype over time, which is actually very slow. For example, if Z=0.02, it'd be ~900 generations before XY is <0.1%. There are still issues with the equation but it's an estimate.

So it would be easy like you said for thd many other factors to slow it down or stop the effect. If Z=0.02 again it'd only be 49.7-50.3 XY-XX after 1 generation, which isn't hard to rebalance.

I was also curious what would happen with an all XX world, and it seems like Zetas would increase until they get to 50% of the population. Tau (SS) is gone like you said, but it seems like it wouldn't be a complete extinction if all XY disappeared. If Zetas had no preference then Taus would probably be around 1/6 (17%) of the population and Xis around 1/3 (33%) of the population. But since Zetas have a preference the Tau % would be higher, not sure how much though.

For the all female world, the population is more likely 50% Xi 26% Zeta 24% Tau

the only time offspring have less then 50% being Xi is when the dame has an N as well as the sire. so dame is either another zeta, or an Xi NS. All 3 zeta have a very low chance of becoming pregnant, it's not reliable (1% of couples trying might succeed but then 1/3 of those don't make it to birth) that only leaves Xi NS dame as a reliable source.

childhood mortality Kappa (young Zeta) are less likely to make it to adulthood then the other 2 sexes.

With sexuality, let's say 90% of Zetas aren't interested in a relationship in an all female world (just because males are gone, doesn't mean they stop being hetero... though some might find relations with trans-men. more things to consider). That 10% is probably dived into 8% with a Tau 1.75% Xi .25% Zeta

That is less then 3% of the population that wants to be in a relationship where they can sire children. This is why I said the eventual extinction.

You could go into zetas being donors for couples that don't have a zeta in it to increase those numbers.

A fun little idea would be an all female world where scientists are successful in recreating the Y gene from the remains of males long passed. It doesn't have to be one of those harem stories where I guy finds himself in a world of only women. Never seen one of those that was actually a good story. It could be about the first parents of male children as part of the reintroduction attempt. How different he is from raising a daughter. How people are scared of them because this is outside the norm, never seen a living male before. It's not just one couple either. Maybe a dozen. The mothers of males start a support group because only they understand what each other is going through. They even form a colony because they become close.

Basic Needs... people don't want kids if they are struggling to have food and shelter just for themself. There are those that even with needs meet, still just don't want kids. Real birth rates are lower then they used to be for a reason. there is also sexism. Men make more money then Women, and the same can be said for Alphas making more then Zetas. Zetas are now less financially secure and less likely to want to grow a family.

In the past with matchmakers, they help youths find mates because a lot of their neighbors were also relatives. The matchmaker would charge a larger fee if the customer were to make specific requests. If they don't make a specific request the matchmaker would most likely look for an opposite gender as a match. Gays and lesbians asked, while bi were less likely to because that extra fee was large.

You can also add in some conflicts that are caused by culture. Worldbuild, add the crazy people. There are those that think Zeta and Omega are wrong for just existing. A separation of genitalia cult. Some castrate infants, and others just dispose of them. Then the opposite, but similar result. Those that see Zeta and Omega as being more god like, and should be worshiped. It is a sin to touch a god when you yourself are not one... the same-sex relationships in that case would only be zeta/zeta and omega/omega.

Have a civilization ban zeta+♀ relationships. Why? Because the number of Alphas in their army was decreasing.

Per birth Taus have 1.97 babies Xi have 1.05 babies Zeta also have 1.05, but the chance of even getting pregnant is extremely low even when actively trying. Being pregnant does not stop ruts, so if a pregnant zeta goes into rut there is a high probability of Loss

In a female only world You can ignore all Zeta Theta Eta Tau as the dame and Xi NS sire because of how unlikely they are to happen Tau would nearly vanish. They have SS and the only S sire is that rare 1/1000 Xi NS . Most Tau disappeared right after the last Lambda NS.

when it comes to zetas that are bi or lesbian, they are mostly interested in Tau. the number of Xi being in a relationship with a Zeta is low.

How is asexuality/aromanticism(?) treated?

Like, for example, I have a Zeta character named Ness who is aroace, but her parents constantly nag her to get a spouse, when she’s just fine with friends and a child she adopted.

I’m just curious. Is what Ness experiences accurate to what you’ve envisioned?

My other character, an Omega named Woof could be on the aroace spectrum, but they’re still being developed by me. (jsyk, Woof uses they/them pronouns)

As an acearo they/them myself... Ness parent's suck. That is if they know she is ace/aro.

My family members all had different reactions to me being Asexual. So every ones experience is going to be different. It's not just culture or society pressures. There are asexuals that do experience the parents nagging. The one that nagged me to date was actually a sibling, not parents. A lot of what is said in this post is inspired by things that sibling has actually said to me.

most people have 2 types of sexuality. One based on presenting genders (like irl) and one based on scent. Post about sexuality in omega-verse.

Asexuality - no sexual attraction based on presenting genders. in a world where a lot of attraction is based on scent, ace isn't that big of a deal. It's when it's paired with Foetetsexuality (Foe) that people raise a brow. Foe - not attracted to scents

I'm guessing Ness is both ace and Foe.

"You just haven't found your destined mate yet." my AU doesn't even have destined mates in it, but it does have people that believe in destined mates.

Someone might assume Ness is an Iota (a type of Zeta that doesn't experience rut) just off the fact she's ace.

For an older Zeta, some might be weary of someone that does not have a mate, and make them out to be an outcast. "She doesn't have a mate at that age? What's wrong with her? Maybe she's abusive."

Some might think she is faking it to take advantage of potential mates once they let their guard down around her thinking they are in a safe space.

For Woof being an omega there are those that would believe that they are just a scared virgin that will get over it once they get knotted.

the pressure from society to have children for an omega is high, so they would also have people trying to set them up on dates. Even using the spectrum as an excuse. Demi is part of the acearo spectrum.

more omega-verse specific pressure is heats themselves heats are not pleasant, especially alone. so some will push Woof to find a mate for their own health. There's probably some misinformation about how omega's without mates meet an early grave because of problems from ignoring to many heats.

It's not weird at all. When developing the six sexes I watched nature documentaries for ideas. Many of those were Africa based. Plenty of Lions, Hyenas, Leopards, Cheetahs, African Wild Dogs, Elephants, Water Buffalo I don't anthropomorphize them, but looking to nature makes the world feel slightly more realistic.

Though 4 of them being 3 predators, but the other 2 is livestock and prey is a little strange.

I tend to think of elephant seals with Taus. The females are very small compared to the males. They look cute, but are still predators, while also having many other predators as threats.

For Omegas I think of penguins. The males are the ones to keep the egg warm while gathered in large groups waiting for their partner to return. Again a predator that is not top of their food chain.

I try avoiding associating any omega-verse with wolves because that old debunked research about alpha wolves is weird. Especially when African Wild Dog packs fit the Alpha/Beta/Omega setting better. Those pack animals associated with Lambda and Xi are fine for the ones that choose to live in a pack instead of living alone. for the most part, I think of bird colonies for them many birds mate for life with one partner, but they are also part of a much larger community.

Sorry to bother you again (and embarrass myself) So, in your verse, are Zetas and Omegas considered to be intersex? Is it like a spectrum, where it varies from person to person?

In my verse, it is and *INHALE, LONG INFODUMP INCOMING*

Some Zetas can use their penis and uterus just fine if they want bio kids, but they, unlike Xis or Taus, they have periods, like my character, Louis, whom I've mentioned earlier.

Some can only use their penis, like my character Ness for example, but she don't mind. She never wanted a partner anyways.

Some can only use their uterus, like my character Taami, and 75% of the time they just get it removed, cuz periods SUCK. However, in Taami's case, she didn’t because the area she lived in was really poor, and that with the combination of the fact that she couldn’t get a safe C-section, she died Silverstream-style. Her pups lived tho.

The same goes for Omegas. Some can only use their uterus, penis, or both, except they don't have periods like Zetas do.

However, despite the fact that they are EXTREMELY rare, a sterile combination of the two can happen. I gave it the name Ometa, but do you have a better name?

They can't get pregnant or impregnate. Whatever reproductive system they had, if x-rayed, looks VERY unfinished. However, they still can produce milk with the right herbs/medication,

Ooo, a long ask!

First I sometimes refer to Zetas and Omegas as intersex just as a way to say they have both male and female reproductive parts. I hope I'm not using intersex incorrectly. I just don't know how else to put it. Inside an AZLXTO-verse story, most would not call them intersex. Zeta is it's own sex that is assigned at birth, as well as Omega.

For Kappa (baby Zeta) it is anyone born with both parts and the tiny indicator that a knot will form as they develop. this means someone who is an Alpha+Omega intersex would be labeled a Zeta. The new born is assigned an Upsilon (baby Omega) if they have both parts and no indicator of a future knot. Omega's have slick glands, but those are internal so it isn't used to assign sex. so someone that is Lambda+Xi intersex is assigned an Omega. They would be specifically labeled a Phi (an omega that doesn't have heats) after puberty.

The genetics chart I made is a basic science class level. This above information is more advanced biology class.

Personally, I would never include periods in the omega-verse. 1. they suck and I do not wish that upon any one, not even the imaginary people in my head. 2. omega-verse has a lot of scent base properties to it and everyone is more sensitive to smells... having a portion of the population regularly smelling of blood just seems like a bad idea to me. you can do what you want to fit your world though.

Being sterile or fertile does not change someones sex nor gender. You might be thinking about Atypical Genitalia though. So they didn't fully form before being born, but it still exists?

In my dice rolling random family builder, I made the chance of a Zeta becoming pregnant and an Omega being a sire very low to the point you could say most zeta and omega just can't.

I've mentioned trans a few time, but never went into depth about it. I even mentioned it in my very first post (it's the pinned one... I can't believe it's been 3 years!)

Trans gender is anyone who is not cis gender. That includes non-binary, a gender, bi gender, ftm, mtf, so many different genders that don't match the assigned at birth sex.

In AZLXTO it is the same. The only difference is there are 6 sexes that can be assigned at birth.

Someone assigned Alpha at birth is trans if they identify as anything other then an Alpha. Alpha to Lambda is trans, just like an Alpha to Tau is.

some transphobic stuff is mentioned below as i give examples of what is going on in my verse.

Alpha->Lambda don't normally come out. They tend to just stay on rut reducers/blockers and not talk about it. Some that have come out as trans Lambda get laughed at and called a scared virgin, having to deal with hazing.

Zeta->Xi again, she is more likely to stay silent about being trans and just stay on strong rut blockers. coming out, she has to deal with people questioning her sexuality. "You don't need to be a Xi to be a bottom." said some dumb person the whole explaining the difference between sexuality and gender... sigh. Tau->Xi she would probably stay on strong heat reducers, and deal with people annoying her about how bad they are for her body (they're not) and that she should stop taking them and have lots of babies. "You'll never find a mate if you don't have strong enough pheromones." Omega->Lambda the sexuality questions that z->x have to deal with and the t->x stop whining about heats and have babies already he has to deal with both of those. now when it comes to Alpha<-->Omega Alpha<-->Tau Zeta<-->Omega Zeta<-->Tau Lambda->Omega Lambda->Tau Xi->Omega Xi->Tau in a modern day settings, there isn't really anything that can be done to fully transition medically. Slick glands can be removed. Knot removal is risky and still relatively new. Adding those doesn't exist yet.

i feel at this point i should mention that in AZLXTO rut and heat are caused by a build up of hormones that come off as pheromones... but the hormone that does it doesn't actually exist. it is a fantasy biology hormone just for the omega-verse... that i don't have a name for. So rut and heat reducers do not have an effect on testosterone nor estrogen.

I know there are more types of trans in the AZLXTO, but these are some main points.

trans that don't change pronouns tend to not talk about being trans those that aren't born with the ability to have heats, can't medically get that in modern settings. same for ruts. Fantasy settings with magic transformations, or future settings with better medical knowledge can ignore this part. ♥ trans that do come out are typically the ones that still have the same mating cycle (alpha<-->zeta are still expected to have ruts and sire offspring).

for Lambda<-->Xi you might think it just like irl. medically yes. For society, it easier in omega-verse than irl. Alpha/Zeta are the ones expected to sire the next generation, and Tau/Omega to give birth to it. Lambda/Xi don't have that pressure unless they are an only child or something like that. If it makes them happy, go for it.

Mating Bites

One thing about omega-verse I never cared for is the mating bite being permanent. I've seen several manga where the main omega already has a mate from an unwanted bite as a teenager and I hate it. It was already a traumatic experience, it doesn't need to be worse! It also seems like a forced monogamy, locking out poly relationships, or making them seem unnatural in the verse. I just don't like that. Not saying to get rid of the biting. It just needs some adjustment.

In AZLXTO-verse the mating bite is not some life long soul bond. The bites main purpose is for reproduction. When a Omega/Tau is knotted during heat and is bitten, their body will react by releasing a burst of pheromones. The pheromones will then cause the Alpha/Zeta to stay knotted longer, increasing the chance of pregnancy and having more pups.

Alpha/Zeta have the instinct to bite, but it doesn't have to be them for the reaction to happen. If using a knot toy and good timing with a bite, anyone can cause their partner in heat to have the desired response. The timing is the tricky part.

Being bitten can be addictive, and going through a heat alone after having experienced it can be torture. Some would describe it as a hundred times worse then their heats from before getting bitten. This increase in heat pains explains why many believe a mating bite actually bonds the two together. It's just a withdraw effect though. Any partner can fix it.

blockers prevent heats from happening or lesson the symptoms of heat. The instinctual want to be bitten only happens while in heat. So blockers could mitigate it because it lessens everything about being in heat.

YY does not seal the egg. It is likely a 2nd sperm cell will combine into it, creating YYY or XYY YYY is rejected XYY is known as Jacobs syndrome. look it up, it is real.

Mating Bites

One thing about omega-verse I never cared for is the mating bite being permanent. I've seen several manga where the main omega already has a mate from an unwanted bite as a teenager and I hate it. It was already a traumatic experience, it doesn't need to be worse! It also seems like a forced monogamy, locking out poly relationships, or making them seem unnatural in the verse. I just don't like that. Not saying to get rid of the biting. It just needs some adjustment.

In AZLXTO-verse the mating bite is not some life long soul bond. The bites main purpose is for reproduction. When a Omega/Tau is knotted during heat and is bitten, their body will react by releasing a burst of pheromones. The pheromones will then cause the Alpha/Zeta to stay knotted longer, increasing the chance of pregnancy and having more pups.

Alpha/Zeta have the instinct to bite, but it doesn't have to be them for the reaction to happen. If using a knot toy and good timing with a bite, anyone can cause their partner in heat to have the desired response. The timing is the tricky part.

Being bitten can be addictive, and going through a heat alone after having experienced it can be torture. Some would describe it as a hundred times worse then their heats from before getting bitten. This increase in heat pains explains why many believe a mating bite actually bonds the two together. It's just a withdraw effect though. Any partner can fix it.

what is a recessive alpha and how is it different from a dominant alpha

I don't know, honestly. I don't use these terms.

To me an Alpha is an Alpha is an Alpha.

Unless it serves narrative purpose within a story, I don't often go to the overly specific and segmented dynamics system route.

Maybe @alpha-zeta-lambda-xi-tau-omega can be more helpful here than me hahaha.

I've seen in a few manwha with recessive and dominate stuff. an explanation about those. Recessive alpha can't manipulate their pheromones, and their pheromones aren't very strong. They are weak to the pheromones of dominate omegas. Dominant alpha can manipulate their pheromones and have strong pheromones. Omegas are weak to them. Betas might also be weak to them.

I have 3 types of Alpha/Zeta

Alpha/Zeta NN Beta/Eta Ns (Beta here is not the same beta in other omega-verse) Gamma/Theta Nn

Gamma/Theta (Nn) are sensitive to the scent of Tau/Omega in heat, and will go into rut because of it. Beta/Eta (Ns) have an internal clock and will go into rut on a regular basis, even if there are no Tau/Omega around. Alpha/Zeta (NN) experience both. I personally would not call any of them recessive or dominate. mainly because the definition for Recessive characteristics controlled by genes that are expressed in offspring only when inherited from both parents. Not masked by a dominant characteristic inherited from one parent.

N gene is kind of a dominate gene. those that get two none dominate genes, would be Lambda/Xi (betas in regular omega-verse)

you could call Nn, Ns recessive because they carry a single 'recessive' gene and only experience one type of rut. or you could call NN 'recessive' because it was inherited by both parents and isn't suppressed.

you could call NS combination 'recessive' because it results in a Lambda/Xi instead of an alpha/zeta nor tau/omega because S is just as dominate as N so they both become kind of recessive (or inter-dynamic) For a Lambda and Xi couple to have alpha/zeta or tau/omega offspring, one or both partners have to be NS.

do betas present? if so how?

It depends on the verse, really..

I've seen people make Betas have heats and ruts like Omegas and Alphas but they're less intense, and I've seen people say that Betas don't present at all.

I used to be in this last group, but I've came across some headcanons in the past that have quite interested me. So if you were to ask do Betas present in most of MY verses, my answer would be: In a way.

In my more recent verses Betas present in a couple of key ways. Much like their Omega and Alpha counterparts their "presentation" happens in puberty.

The key signs the Teenager in question is a Beta is the presentation of these factors: - Nose bleeds - Migraines. - Sporadic synesthesia. - Light sensitivity or temporary night blindness.

The reason for the above is because in my more recent verses Betas have some senses heightened in comparison to Omegas and Alphas. Mostly their scent and sight are better than the other two Dynamics'. So Betas have a normal human's sense of smell and sight before presenting, but when they present their bodies have a little bit of a period of adaptation and discomfort and confusion when it comes to their new senses.

Fortunately for Betas this is something that only happens in the first months of presentation and it does not extent to their whole adult, fertile lives like it's the case with ruts and heats.

AZLXTO-verse: Matchmaker’s Choice

A little story of a Matchmaker in the AZLXTO style omega-verse. not modern setting (I wrote this a year ago, but only just found it again.)

Johanna studied the many sprawling charts laid across her table. Many youths were to come of age this year, all looking towards her for guidance, for she is the one responsible for changing their lives.  It is quite uncommon for families to not seek her services in this town, for it is Johanna that has connections. With a long line of matchmakers behind her, and more connections built up by her own hand, families would be crazy not to ask for her services. 

The charts before her now is information of family lines of three Tau girls and one Omega boy, all from towns two or more months travel away. Towns she had never matched her people with before. These four are the left over choices from the towns in-between hers & theirs. Those that were rejected by other matchmakers for some reason. A reason she must find out on her own. Perhaps this one town had a year where many Tau and Omegas were born and it was just to many for the other towns to take? Or those other towns didn’t have many Alphas and Zetas coming to age? But why not these four?

Ah, the first Tau. There’s a medical note. She reacted to the medication outside of the season. That rules out her being a Rho or Pi. What do the family charts have to say about her? Parents are a Zeta an Omega pair. Johanna looked to the charts given to her from her predecessor, that they themselves got from theirs. Several generations of parent and child had been recorded upon these charts, though no name was used. Only the dynamics and mating habits. What parent combination created which kind of child. As far as Johanna knew, no other matchmakers had such a chart. It was just a curiosity that a matchmaker long past started and every student that followed kept the tradition up. There it is. Zeta Omega parents have no recorded record of a child being a pure Tau, so that would leave this current candidate as a Sigma. That also mean the Zeta parents is a Theta. She would have to look into the grandparents to determine the omega’s most likely true dynamic, but it does not matter. A Sigma girl would make a perfect mate for any Alpha. So why was she passed over so many times before making it to Johanna’s table? The matchmaker studied the chart a bit longer before noticing the issue. On the family chart sirs are written on the left, and dam on the right, but the Theta is on the right. Did the omega impregnate the Theta? It is quite unusual. Many people believe the child born in such a way is an ill omen, possibly even a demon that tricked the heavens into letting her be born in mortal flesh. Johanna does not believe in such silly stories. Like the heavens could be so easily tricked. No, a child born in such away that seems impossible is more likely an angel sent from above. Someone the gods and goddesses wanted to be born so badly, they broke the norms and made a path just for her. The family of possible mates might not see it that way, so she will have to make a completely new chart, switching which side the parent is on. To her, to have a blessed Sigma in the village to mother another generation, the extra work would be worth it.

Now to take a look at the second Tau. No parent information at all. It is just her and medical record saying she did not react to the inducer medication. An orphan Rho. No dowry or family connections. This poor thing is alone in the world and no one else seems to want her. Luckily, Johanna’s town is the largest in the region. The population is so great that finding enough outsider matches that no dowry is not a deal breaker. She can easily present this girl’s information to any pack leader, and they would consider the option. Some times having a child marry without having to deal with new in-laws is a welcomed change for those with many children and many negotiations to deal with.

That one wasn’t to hard to determine, but the third Tau. She is the first  Johanna considered turning down this year. Just of age to marry, but already heavy with child.  This one had her first heat out of season, very rare to happen, so no one knew to protect her in such a vulnerable state. On top of that, no one knows who the child’s sire is, so can’t force them to take responsibility. The family has a very high dowry to offer, but this marriage would come with another sires child as well. If Johanna were to make a match for this girl, it would have to be someone that doesn’t care about the whole virgin bride thing. Perhaps a Lambda that wants to up his status by having a Tau wife? Or maybe even a widower with children of their own already that is looking more for the company of a wife then the tradition of one.  Finding a mate for her is difficult, but not impossible. The omega. Wait, no. it’s Omegas. Twins that don’t want to be separated. Zeta’s had a tendency to only want one mate, and Alpha prefer Tau mates in most cases. Johanna has seen this a few time before, and would normally pass these customers on to another town, but she had an idea. It would be another year yet, but one of the packs in town has twin Zeta’s that will be of age next year. She can speak with their pack leader to see if they are alright with their girls mating with slightly older omegas. One year isn’t to much of a difference, and with it being her suggestion and not them coming to her for a match, the fee would be greatly discounted.
