"Looks like it's just you and me. Maria's stuck across town." He walked back over to where she was sitting. "How's the paper coming along?"

"A little, yes." He said, unblinking. Lawrence nodded and pointed to the door he was about to go in, signalling class was soon to start and that she'd need to get her seat.
She nods eyes meeting his, although nothing of that look said anything for strength “So—Is it always this bad? The weather I mean…” The weather, yeah that’s exactly what he wants to hear…
"The blizzards aren't the norm, but snow and cold, yes."
"Yeah, I uh— I prefer to be ahead" shifting awkwardly she laughed "So should I send you an email to make an appointment or would you prefer that I just show up?"
"Please email me."
"Yes chapter three, I’ll be ready" she said with a smile. "Actually I, I um— I have question about that chapter actually, it’s just not adding up with something I read in chapter six. Oh but I can wait until your office hours if that would be better?"
"Considering the fact we haven't hit chapter six yet, that would be a feat. Yes, my office hours would be better.
"Geez…" she jumped at the sudden voice, laughing awkwardly as she turned to face him the phone forgotten. "Um yeah, I mean yes. Yes I will be in class."
"Good. We're starting chapter three."
"Wait no, just listen to me…Mom just…" she stared down at the screen voice filling with surprise. "She hung up?"
"The cell reception is terrible in here. Will I be seeing you in class today, Miss White?"
