Erica grinned arrogantly, not the least affected by Jupiter’s words. ‘enhanced mutt powers’? Is that the best she could do? “Jealous, dear? You wish you could do what I do.” Erica chuckled to herself when the Slytherin girl looked away and they got back to the game. Erica was beyond satisfied at how she stood her ground against her. Before she became a werewolf, she lacked a backbone, but now… she had enough power and confidence to fight back, and most importantly, win. Erica felt like she was on top of the world.
Right before she was knocked down her broom by a bludger. The hard ball hit her right on the side, and Erica couldn’t even focus on how much it had hurt because she was falling down through straight to the ground, instinctively screaming. For a second, Erica swore she was going to hit the ground and die, werewolf healing or not. But just after a few seconds of falling, which felt like an eternity, she abruptly stopped in the middle of the air, face down, just maybe a whole meter between her and the ground. She was shrieking softly and panting as she stared at the ground, and when she blinked, she realized her eyes had gotten watery, and not because of the air hitting her eyes.
Whatever had stopped her fall, or well, whoever, set her slowly on the ground. That’s when she started to recover from the fright and her thoughts started to put it all together. She had been hit by a bludger…. and as she realized it had to be Jupiter, rage started taking over her inevitably. Her body started to shake in anger, her eyes glowed bright yellow and her nails started to turn into claws… she was going to kill her. Maim her. Rip her throat out. That was suddenly Erica’s only thought.
Derek hadn’t originally been planning on going to the game that evening. It was rare he went to them anymore, with work keeping him busy and his tendency towards seclusion out weighing his need to be shoved into a crowd with a bunch of others to watch people fly around for an hour or so. Still, he’d decided to go. Wasn’t Deaton always saying he needed to be more involved with his pack anyways? Most of them were playing in the game anyways, so he figured it’d be a good leeway to bonding. Of some sorts at least, what with Erica off and on angry with him, Isaac usually distant and Boyd the silent type that he was.
He wasn’t expecting the blonde beta to find herself in any trouble during a simple school game, but he was reminded how seriously the students took the sport as he watched Erica get hit with a bludger, knocking her clear off her broom and hurtling towards the ground. Reacting within an instant with a hurried and sharp, “Arresto momentum!” He was one of the first out on the field, lowering her softly to the ground and moving to her side, not missing the way her eyes were bright with rage. “Erica!” He snapped to get her attention, needing to make sure she showed some control and was alright. They needed to get her off the field.
