He nodded. “Alright. I wish there was a way I could stop you, but you seem pretty persistent.”
She shrugged. ”Always have been.”
He nodded, nothing really else to say. "Good luck, Caroline."
@Longbottom
“Thank you,” she said quietly, getting up from her chair.
“If you want me to set up that meeting with the Headmaster, I can.”
She shook her head. ”I already have one,” she told him softly.
He nodded. "Alright. I wish there was a way I could stop you, but you seem pretty persistent."
@Longbottom
He nodded back at her. “Yeah, Caroline, if you ever need anything I’m here to help.” His tone was a touch disappointed.
“Thank you,” she said quietly, getting up from her chair.
"If you want me to set up that meeting with the Headmaster, I can."
@Longbottom
“I always liked having you in class, Caroline,” he nodded.
She nodded. ”Well… thank you. For the last six years.”
He nodded back at her. "Yeah, Caroline, if you ever need anything I'm here to help." His tone was a touch disappointed.
@Longbottom
“If you weren’t asking permission why did you even bother coming to my office? You do have to see and speak to the Headmaster before you go.”
She looked up at him with a sigh. ”Because you’re my Head of House, and you’re one of the best Professors I’ve had here,” she told him, “even if I wasn’t very good at your subject. I guess I felt like I should come and … say goodbye, or whatever.”
"I always liked having you in class, Caroline," he nodded.
@Longbottom
“I don’t want to,” he nodded. “Asking you to give it a month is not asking too much.”
“And I’m politely declining. I’m leaving, Professor. I’m not asking permission.”
"If you weren't asking permission why did you even bother coming to my office? You do have to see and speak to the Headmaster before you go."
@Longbottom
He really didn’t appreciate her attitude. ”Miss Kingsmoore, watch it.”
“What, you’re going to take off points from your own house, from a student that’s not even going to be a student much longer?”
"I don't want to," he nodded. "Asking you to give it a month is not asking too much."
@Longbottom
“No offence, but I really don’t care.”
“Caroline,” he said, giving her a look, “If you still want to drop out in a month then I’ll let you.”
“I’ve been thinking about it since before I came back,” she told him. ”I’m going to do what I want, you can’t stop me.”
He really didn't appreciate her attitude. "Miss Kingsmoore, watch it."
@Longbottom
“I still can,” he shrugged.
“I’d rather you not.”
“No offence, but I really don’t care.”
"Caroline," he said, giving her a look, "If you still want to drop out in a month then I'll let you."
@Longbottom
She sighed. ”I can leave whenever I want, Professor, I could have just left.”
“I know you could have,” he nodded.
“I still can,” he shrugged.
"I'd rather you not."
@Longbottom
“I know I won’t feel as alone anywhere but in this castle.”
“A month, please, Caroline. Then I’ll let you leave without the questions.”
She sighed. ”I can leave whenever I want, Professor, I could have just left.”
"I know you could have," he nodded.
@Longbottom
She sighed, looking away. ”What’s going to happen in a month to make me change my mind?”
“Maybe you won’t feel as alone in a month. You don’t know what’s going to happen.”
“I know I won’t feel as alone anywhere but in this castle.”
"A month, please, Caroline. Then I'll let you leave without the questions."
@Longbottom
“Persuasion is all I’ve got,” he shrugged. ”Can I at least have you give it until Halloween?”
She sighed, looking away. ”What’s going to happen in a month to make me change my mind?”
"Maybe you won't feel as alone in a month. You don't know what's going to happen."
@Longbottom
He laughed. “No, I’m not going to chain you to a chair. Legalities and such.”
“Then what?” she asked. ”I don’t want to be here, Professor, I’ve made up my mind.”
"Persuasion is all I've got," he shrugged. "Can I at least have you give it until Halloween?"
@Longbottom
She sighed. ”You can’t keep me here, Professor, I’m seventeen.”
He shook his head. “No, I can’t keep you here, but I can try.”
“What are you going to do, chain me to a chair?”
He laughed. "No, I'm not going to chain you to a chair. Legalities and such."
@Longbottom
“Everyone has someone,” he pointed out. Neville couldn’t just let her drop out, he’d never want any of his students to drop out. ”I don’t want to take away any more points from my house, so please, watch your language. I promise you have someone here, but maybe their just keeping to themselves like you are.”
She sighed. ”You can’t keep me here, Professor, I’m seventeen.”
He shook his head. "No, I can't keep you here, but I can try."
