Programmed by "toxic" family members

I will be sharing stories involving my "toxic" family members from my everyday life. I will also be digging deeper into the past to discover how I have been programmed by them. I call it that as I believe it is like a programming a computer has. I was programmed by my parents, just like they were programmed by their parents and so on. I would also like to change the way people call and view "toxic people". I believe that every person is doing the best they can with the programming they have. Let's all be kinder to each other <3

We need to change the way we view “toxic” people

I struggle with this myself, I have been for most of my life. However, through spirituality, experience and some people I met along my way I came up with my own theories on life.  I must say, I don’t remember about it most of the time, but I was reminded about it today by my mum, she said something along the lines of: everyone is doing the best they can.  I reminded myself of those philosophies that I even wrote in a small journal that I was always supposed to carry around and read. I simply forget about it, because I have been programmed with these ideas of toxic people, bad people and I have been around such called people most of my life.  These people are my family and I hate them so deeply sometimes.. but I shouldn’t.  They hurt me, but the thing is they lack empathy so they don’t even know that they are hurting me. It’s crazy isn’t it? I don’t understand it myself because most of the time I am very empathetic, but that’s how it is. Hurting me gives them a sense of power and that is why they do it, they wouldn’t if they knew they were hurting me.  So my point is.. no one means to hurt anyone.  Which of course, does not mean that you should stick around people that do. Walk away, but remember they are doing the best they can with the programming they have.
