I am so happy to be doing some progress on my friend Yashi's tattoo design! It's a memorium for her mother - brief was a Skylark and some representation of freedom lost.

This is the central panel of my latest drawing titled Quintessence. It's one of nine that were placed in a 3x3 square grid with the rings of the tree stump spread over all 9 panels and a dodecahedron (classical symbol of aether, the divine fifth element) over the centre. I am really pleased with how the drawing turned out. It involved a lot of mark making for the grain of the wood which is something new to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The drawing was done freehand. Soon I will get a really clean photo of each panel and upload them. It was exhibited last night at a show but the mounting was awful (and damaged my drawings somewhat) so unfortunately I didn't get a photo there.
Hey groovy people! This is part of my drawing for an exhibition I'm in. It's in 3 days! Gotta absolutely cram it in the studio today :D
Had to change my plans for the exhibition in 10 days.
Lucky I’m full of plans! This is the start of my tree stump. I think I’m getting the grainy texture I was looking for.
Geometry is fun! I'm working on a series of drawings for a group exhibition I'll be in. It's in 12 days! Better get my hussle on!
Hallelujah to the textile gods The bamboo fabric I planned to use for my ties was no longer stocked but I ordered a sample of this bamboo twill and it's perfect! A bit heavier than the woven and with more lustre and drape. Going to order a few metres of this to practice sewing and printing :)
Ello ello!
This is part of a tattoo design I'm currently making. There'll be a skylark in the background kind of enveloped by this geometric cage with the word BASIA made from connected points.
Hello poppets!
I've been away from my lovely studio recently due to work commitments but here I am, trying to make sense of my enormous task :)
Pictured is a demo for a tie design i'll be doing. Any critique is welcome!
I made myself learn Illustrator! Well, the pen and pencil tools, anyway.
So this is the revised logo, now made as a vector graphic! Huzzah
This is a fabric I'm very interested in, though it probably won't make it into my collection: 80% bamboo and 20% wild nettle! I had a lot of experience with wild nettle as a kid in the UK so to see such a beautiful fabric made from the stuff is quite bizarre! Still the handle and drape is wonderful.
Sorry for the downtime, folks! I've spent a while learning Illustrator to make my logo a beautiful shiny vector graphic! I also received a lot more bamboo fabric samples in the mail and hung some up. So far I think the woven bamboo is the go. Unfortunately it lacks the sheen and drape I get from the bamboo jersey, but that's far too stretchy as a knit fabric. Oh well! Perseverance is key when you aren't quite sure what you're doing I suppose.
The results of my many business card hours spent tweaking it all.
Another painting i'll be appropriating into a textile design. How do you think it'll go on the tie?
This painting is the main inspiration for what I'm doing now with Red Opium Apparel.
It's going to be converted into the flagship design for my collection. What sort of things would you like to see on a tie?
Hmmm sketching a tattoo for a friend's tattoo. Not sure how to draw animals, another thing I'm winging. I do love contemporary designs though, its like there's no rules but innovation.
hmmmm so undecided about this logo?
Got my fabric samples in the mail! The bamboo rayon is great, a bit too stretchy but hopefully I will persevere!
