Anybody that wanna hear my thought process for everything in here feel free to read below
So, first the background: I wanted to go with the "main" and "secondary" place, and for Ludmila those would be Gath and Zern (the Queen of Zern version I have to this is the other way around), and the different characters/objects in the circles are things that are important/greatly changed her.
The circles - they are paired up this way:
The heart and Kočka - I always liked to think of Kočka as also representing the type of person Ludmila was, in a way where her heart was, and it was in adventure and helping others
Marya and the Straka - do I really need to explain my thought process here? Both her past and her future, the person that took her to the skies and the monster that brought her down to hell
Olethra and the Automata - both honestly the characters we've seen change her the most through the series, Olethra is the one character that keeps pushing to save her even though she's never met her, they're quite literally the same type of person and maybe that's why she's so bent on saving her; while the automata is who tricked her into falling deeper and deeper into despair, with sweet words that were all planned, just to use her to get themselves into absolute power in Zern and, by the end of it, discard her when she (the human her) wasn't useful anymore as a tinkerer
Everybody that knew her as a human is looking as her, they see Ludmila, the other one's aren't. For the Automata she's just another chess piece they will use and throw away and the Straka may be her invention, but it's not hers, it's a weapon.
The scrap she's sitting on is mostly made of Straka but with some of Sandy's parts scattered around (she did make both good and bad things during her time in Zern) and the pipes connecting the parts are running with her blood already (her whole destruction is in a time loop, even now she's already nothing more than fuel)
The pose: I wanted to make her in a softer type of pose, she's making herself smaller but still sitting comfortably on top of a pile of scrap (well, she's from scrapsilvania after all), I though of making her happy (to destroy the baseless accusations that I only draw ludmila suffering) but she isn't happy, she's sitting on top of her literal destruction, one she'll make herself. She's looking slightly up, since I wanted her to still have some sort of "hopefulness" in the pose and expression.
So yeah! I have thoughts and opinions and so many thought! Gotta wait the Queen of Zern version of this drawing and then the differences will be even more interesting!
Something abt Comfrey inspiring a culture of commitment within her crew despite her issues with commitment being almost a mortal flaw.
They marry quickly and often. They have Wind Rider tattoos, which Haunch tattooed over and Marya scratched off bc of their disillusionment with the WR organization & Comfrey. Monty spends his life in Gath fixing a mess the WRs made, and Daisuke spends the later part of his watching over Olethra because Comfrey asked.
And I dont think we talk enough about how the crew Comfrey took with her to Zood, including Haunch and Onion, kept coming back with her on her many increasingly dangerous adventures in the braid. Comfrey herself said that the crew protested against going back when she chose to U-Turn right after finding out how to return to Gath. Their second excursion was multiple years long.
Yet Comfrey's insecurity and fear led her to ruining her relationships with anyone who questioned her judgment. She had a persecution complex that led to her forsaking people who quite literally oriented their lives around her. She's a case study in closing your eyes and plugging your ears when you have to face what you're afraid of. In her case, the mirror

She's charming and intense. She has done a lot of good for people, and she wants to do a lot of good for the world. There's a reason she was the beneficiary of Cadswitch Gotch, the guy obsessed with The Human Project.
A day or so ago I was talking politics with a friend, and I said "When you're obsessed with saving others, you end up failing to help them" which I think is relevant here. She was the kind of hero people look up to, aspire to be, but her insistence on heroism alienated her from others, and made her believe there is only one right way to change the world.
She's incredibly loyal to her crew and her causes, but her commitment falters in the face of her ego. She has destinies picked out for them, stories written for the fate of these worlds and peoples, and she'r rather devote herself to that script than trust other people to have the answers she doesn't. That insecurity and anxiety create a desperation in Comfrey for control.
But none of the surviving Wind Riders truly hate her when all is said & done. Their betrayal comes from the years of loyalty Comfrey's presence and deeds inspired in them

I haven't finished the series yet so please no spoilers! I am loving the whimsy so far though, it might even top Calamity and Divergence as my favourite actual play series. Olethra's energy is so so charming
