PNG Glitch Tutorial Prep work: Acquire an 8 Bit RGB PNG file at 2400x2400 resolution (adding white borders is fine). This is most easily achieved with VirtualDub (import jpeg, export image sequence>PNG) or Irfanview with the PNGout plugin for even more experimentation. For Mac/Linux users it’s also referred to as PNG24 in Image Magick. Steps: Open in a hex editor, search and replace the string 00 00 09 60 00 00 09 60 08 with: 00 00 04 B0 00 00 04 B0 10 And you’re done, open it up with Mspaint or Paint.net (Photoshop doesn’t like it) and you should have something like the above

Tech: What’s happening is you’re forcing the image viewer to interpret your PNG as 16bit instead of 8 and at half the resolution (Yes, it works the opposite way too but half the image is truncated so you have a really longlitch instead). Anyway, hope you all have fun with this!
