Hi, this is a blog dedicated towards Enderal and my Prophet Sage and Vincent! 🌿
I post screenshots from the game, little posts about Enderal, and things about Sage and Vincent. I also will repost other creators' Prophets and anything related to Enderal. ⭐️
This post will act as a sort of masterlist, if ever in need. I do plan on doing fics in the future, or something along those lines, if people are interested in knowing more about Sage and Vincent.
From the fandom OC ask meme, for Vinnie and Sage please!
Which canon character does your OC not respect at all? Why?
What is the worst thing your OC does in their story?
Thank you for asking something!! 🌤️
VINCENT.
1) Vincent for starters rarely respects anyone. Not in a disrespectful way, mind you, he just doesn’t care enough to form an opinion strong enough to respect someone and vice versa.
But, he an a general rule doesn’t respect anyone from the Holy Order. People in a position of power (Tealor and Natara for instance) which is mainly due to him growing up in the Undercity where the world is rather bleak and tough; when above surface level and involved with the Order his hatred only grows more.
Another person he doesn’t respect is the Father, he thinks he is a maniac and terrible person (well…). He also generally dislikes the Rhalâta as a whole (not Tharaêl, though, they’re friends).
2) Vincent has done plenty of bad things pre-game and during. I think that during the games timeline he slowly humanises himself due to being around Sage (acting as a sort of guard for her) where he almost adopts a big brother vibe; calming him down a little more rather than living in survival mode constantly.
But, I’d probably say it’s in general his lack of care towards most of the people around him. If it weren’t for people like Sage, Jespar, Calia, and Tharaêl everyone around him would most likely be dead, and some actually do end up dying by his hand due to his lack of regard towards those he doesn’t respect.
SAGE.
1) Sage tends to try and look on the brighter side of things despite the darkness that exists in her—it sort of being the reason why she reframes her brain to be optimistic. So, it’s hard for her to really dislike or not respect anyone.
I’d say that she doesn’t respect Jespar in specific traits that he owns, whether it be through trauma or protection, she doesn’t care. Her go-to is, ‘I’ve been through things and I don’t act like that.’ She likes him, she is friends with him, but that doesn’t mean that she respects him fully. She finds his perspective on life and people as aggravating because he does have the ability to at least try.
While Vincent and Tharaêl may have traits to match the likes of Jespar (sometimes cynical), she understands their circumstances and notices how they do try and don’t ever drag anyone into their mess.
She also grows to dislike Tealor as time passes, she never necessarily respected him but as she understood the situation more and him in general, she noticed that how shallow and egotistical he was as a person.
2) Much like Vincent she’s dealt her fair share of bad actions, they just haunt her less than his do. Throughout the timeline of the game she attempts to make up for everything she’s ever done beforehand. Otherwise, she’d have never accepted the role as Prophetess. She saw it as a chance to redeem herself and do better.
Her actions that are without her control are the bad things that she’s done, the moments where Vincent and Calia aren’t around, and there’s no gravitational force to keep her grounded.
In those moments of loss of control, her decisions lead to severe consequences (death).
Corvid brothers (et al) family tree because my friends have been making them for their OCs and I was inspired 😌
Bonuses + Yapping under the readmore
BONUS: LINES
Note Cjaalan is NOT smiling. He has to do that all the time for work. His face hurts.
BONUS: INDIVIDUAL IMAGES
BONUS: Mark actually looks like this Post-Ending, but I wanted to draw him like all his other art for the chart to prevent confusion
Gets some of his melanin back. Only some because he spends a lot of time in the Undercity.
BONUS: DARKMODE
Ehehehehehe
BONUS: YAPPING
The Corvid Parents
Their parents are Kiléans born in Kilé, but unbeknownst to the two of them only half-Kiléan by blood. It's unknown what the other halves are.
Due to dire circumstances, they have to give Marksman and Jackdaw (not their birth names) up for adoption. Some ten years later, when they're better off, they have Cjaalan.
They never learn what happened to their first two sons, and never see them again.
Marksman
Marksman is unaware he's only half-Kiléan, assuming himself fully so.
In his "main" Eventuality, he returns (with Tharael in tow) to Kilé to 'deal with' his remaining Family (the cult that raised him and Jackdaw).
Jackdaw
Jackdaw is also unaware he's only half-Kiléan.
In the Marksman's "main" Eventuality, and indeed most others, he's quite dead. Usually by the Marksman's hand.
In the Eventuality where Knives exists, however, he did not leave the cult until the wars/Cleansing had been resolved. He killed the rest of their Family, travelled to Enderal on the off-chance that's where his brother fled to, and eventually they reunite. He lives in Duneville, finding Ark far too cold and the guards far too nosy.
He's forced into the role of reluctantly indulgent rich uncle - he assumed that when he said he would be so delighted to see his niece, he was only being polite...
Knives, having an ex-Rhalaim and an ex-assassin for fathers, is extremely good at getting her way with people who are usually extremely good at getting their own. Tharael and the Marksman accidentally raise a master manipulator, and Jackdaw doesn't stand a chance.
"Uncle, you're taking me shopping. I want a new tunic from the Qyranese merchants. Of course, if your schedule doesn't allow, I can always tell my father that you tried to poison me. Who will he believe?"
"Cousin" Cjaalan
It was never kept a secret from Cjaalan that he had/has two older brothers. When he's of age, he apprentices in the art of jocularity and becomes a jester. After his parents pass away, he leaves Kilé to seek his fortune.
He meets the Marksman in Ark, and thereafter (as Cjaalan moves on to find work in Nehrim) they write to each other. He introduces himself as his "Cousin", as some deep animal instinct tells him not to call himself "brother" in front of the Marksman and his terrifying Aeterna husband (?). For some reason.
In the Eventuality where Knives exists, he knows of her existence through the Marksman's letter, but never manages to return to Enderal to see her (not for any reason other than being very busy/not having the coin). He sends her cards on her birthdays.
Tharael
I know Tharael's page on the wiki states he's half-Aeterna. I'm under the impression that that's due to the game not having a separate distinction between Aeterna NPCs and the half-Aeterna the player can be.
I consider him to be fully Aeterna. Please don't correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to redo the chart 🥺
Knives
Knives (not her birth name; she chose it for herself at age 6) is the product of magical malpractice.
Lore reason Knives exists: After the Cleansing is averted by the Marksman and Tharael, after Enderal becomes a vassal-state of Nehrim, and after the Order (now under Nehrimese management) has made preparations for the next Prophet, the Temple mages have little to do.
Enderal - and, indeed, everywhere else's - population has been decimated by the various wars, the Red Madness, and the Cleansing. The Nehrimese government implements various incentives for couples to have children, but it isn't enough.
Wages are driven up, with Pathlessness being abolished the denizens of the Undercity find easy and lucrative work sunside, and Enderal's Isolation has ended allowing immigration and free trade, but this still isn't enough.
In Qyra, families live in communes; adults varying in number and gender, their children raised communally. They're also much more advanced than Enderal, magic-wise. I headcanon that the 'we want biological children but we're the same gender' issue is old hat to them.
Ark's mages up at the Sun Temple reach out to their Qyranese colleagues regarding this technology, and start collaborative efforts to bring it to Enderal.
When they do so, the magic needs to be tested. The first part of the process is ensuring the couple is unrelated, and they decide to test only this stage initially. They grab the nearest verifiably unrelated people who happen to be at the Temple at the time (Tharael (who works there) and the Marksman (who's there to work out with Calia)).
Tharael and the Marksman are married at this point, and this is well known. One of the mages, seeing the pair, misses the 'we're only testing the 'check they're unrelated' magic today' memo and assumes they're going the whole way with it.
The pair wander off when the mages suddenly get very concerned with some wizard nonsense or other and seem to forget them. They go home.
They get a knock on their door with an extremely sheepish Lexil explaining that they accidentally'd them a biological daughter.
Half of Ark's population of mothers has a collective "oh shit, them??" moment when the news comes out that Tharael and the Marksman have a child.
They band together to ensure she at least reaches school age without dying due to her fathers' ignorance.
Real reason Knives exists: Friends were all making OC children and I wanted to join in 🥺
