@prorecoveryplanting
You have so much more purpose in life than trying endlessly to offer the world a thin body.
Doing better doesn’t mean you were faking it. Your struggles are as real and as valid. If some one had a broken leg and it healed, it was broken. Progress does not invalidate you.
You will have many conflicting feelings in recovery
You will hate your disorder while at the same time wanting more of it
You will resent your therapist for taking away your coping mechanisms while at the same time appreciating them for helping you
You will feel lost and confused and also like you’re finding yourself
You will be angry at yourself for being sick so long and love yourself for being able to get help
You do not have to reconcile all of your feelings that seem contradictory. Opposing feelings can exist together and you do not have to choose one or the other. You can allow yourself to feel both at the same time.
Hey.
Yeah you- the person reading this. Stop scrolling for a second.
You’re going to be okay. You have to believe that. It might take a long time and who knows how much work, but you’re going to be okay.
You’re going to be okay.
You’re going to be okay.
puts a lot of my thoughts in perspective to see the majority of my most happy memories and favorite pages have food at the forefront somehow
life is beautiful and gay and full of joy
you are not greedy for eating - it doesn't make you a bad human being, food has no moral value. you deserve to nourish your body whenever, wherever with whoever. food is never the enemy, this disorder is
do it scared do it stupid do it alone etc etc but don’t do it hungry. eat a snack first
so so happy i get to restart with him i’m making us an early dinner in our pretty little apartment and i get to spend everyday with him making us new foods and taking care of us :)
eating more in the winter is normal and healthy and good for me eating more in the winter is normal and healthy and good for me eating more in the winter is normal and healthy and good for me eati
10/4/25: cooked an entire dish just for myself for the first time since i was a teenager probably. couldn’t justify putting that much effort into feeding myself, i need to believe i deserve it.
i get to listen to the trains and make myself a sweet drink in the mornings and be alive and able to experience everything with someone i love. we have a little apartment in a beautiful city with a cat like i always hoped for. it will be okay, i’m going to be okay.
and he brought us home burgers after his late shift and i ate mine even though it was after 10pm, i barely thought about the time. i’m getting better whether the dumb parasite in my brain wants me to or not

food can be found in almost all good memories
"Am I sick enough to be valid" is. Like. A CONSTANT question I get on here and I think it's important to provide semi-consistent reminders that you're never too "well" to choose habits that are kinder to yourself. You don't have to prove you're "sick enough." An ounce of prevention is a pound of cure, and the best time to right the ship is before it goes under the water. (The best time to prevent a ship from sinking is to identify that you're on course for rough waters before you have reached them.)
You don't have to put yourself through greater suffering to prove you needed healing. You can decide to just heal.
