Hello and welcome to proselfship culture is! This is a blog for any and all selfshippers/yumeshippers who are proship! While this does follow the basis of a ‘culture is’ blog, it can also be used as a confession blog as well! We hope to provide a safe, kind space for those who desire to be away from antis, people to be free to ask and learn about things, people who are not yet open about being proship, and more!

Asks will be answered upon receiving them, however if we receive a lot at any point, we will queue each post to be posted every 2 hours

What's the difference between a yumeshipper and a selfshipper? how do you know if you are one? do you choose?

I’m not sure actually?? I was around in fandom before the term yumeship became super popular and I myself have not seen the term until super recently, as in last year. I always took the two to mean the same thing, just different words for it? Shipping yourself (or a persona or oc) with a character(s) you love (be it genuine love or just fun) in any way (romantic, platonic, familial, etc.)

I mean, you just Choose to be one. I’m not sure how else to explain it. If you like a character, or more, you can just ship yourself with them! Some people make ocs or personas for it, some people just use themself as they are, it can different types of relationships, it can be casual, it can be serious with a bunch of lore built around it, it can be for fun, it can be seen as a genuine relationship, it’s entirely up to you

i wish people in the fictionfolk community were more normal about proshipping... just my personal experience with it but in my memories i was dating my sister and ive never felt comfortable fully talking about my identity because of it even though its completely involuntary and i cant just rewrite my own experiences in other lives :( i indulge in content of that ship because its what happened to me and i have fond memories of us!!! but thats never made me a bad or dangerous person, i dont even have a sister in this life 💔 so i get annoyed when people say that ill do it again
