Nodding, Lorelei smiled sympathetically, yet knowingly. “I understand that feeling, all too well. I don’t think there’s any job that doesn’t come with at least a little complaining, no matter how much you love it.” Pausing, she glanced over her shoulder at her shop. “Heck, I’m my own boss and I still feel that way.” Lorelei’s eyes bounced to the bar behind them. “It’s great to meet you too, Lip! That is…Quite the description. I’ve never been in, but you’ve almost convinced me to change that. How long have you been working here?”
“Oh yeah, that is most things in life. There’s ups and downs. But it doesn’t bother me. I’m a pretty chill guy,” he said with a shrug. “I’m my own boss too, I get you.” He smiled. “Thank you. Oh yeah, I have a way with words. It’s a classy but quirky pub, with a relaxed atmosphere, nice decor and pretty decent food. Along with the drink,” he rambled on. He was proud of what he’d done with it. “Oh that depends, I technically worked here when I was younger. But I only bought the place about a year ago.”
Her eyebrows raised in surprise as her lips formed a near-perfect O, her expression obviously one of surprise. "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize! I swear, if don't manage to stick my foot in my mouth at least once per day, it's not a good day." laughing at herself, she took in a breath before continuing. "Congratulations though, that's a huge accomplishment! And, it sounds like a great place! You're obviously very passionate. And, you've sold me. I'll have to stop in after work one day this week. What prompted you to buy it?" Lorelei asked.
