Alright- I hate to do this, and I'm sorry to all my mutuals and the people who have followed me, but I'm taking my leave.

I've received a voice mail on my personal phone from some creep who's sent multiple before, as well as the constant death threats and suicide baiting and I'm starting to be extremely uncomfortable by how attached people are willing to get to the discourse.

I sincerely apoligize to any victims who have felt uncomfortable by my statements.

I sincerely apologize to my followers who have probably gone through many instances of similar situations, and to the friends I've made a long the way.

I hate to sounds so Disney villian-esque but unfortunately that is the reality of the situation.

I will keep my blog up for those who wish to use my content as a means to further yourselves, but I will no longer be logging on or interacting with the community through anything. This means through Discord, Tumblr, Twitter, or any other form of social media- and I will be removing all those I talk to and start anew.

Consider me gone. And to my bestie, I'm sorry that I couldn't have stayed long enough to even meet one day.

PSA to never, ever trust anonymous callouts. If they've got something to say, they can say it with their names attached. Private messages exist if they're worried about the person in question finding out. It is not only suspicious as heck to call other users out in an anon ask, but also impossible to attach supporting evidence of any kind. If they can't do that, they're not warning you out of genuine concern. They're trying to blacklist a personal enemy that you have nothing to do with. Block that anon and ignore them. Do your own research. If a friend genuinely wants to bring a bigot or a dangerous individual to your attention they will do so as a friend and not as a nameless informant.

Its funny to me how many people who are anti-Loli/ shota and especially age gap content get outed as actual pedos and abusers.

There's a list out there (please tag me in it if you can find it, I originally had it but it was deleted with my post) of 54 instances of just that! 54 "popular" (well -known) instances of that taking place, which means more are out there, without any documentation.

I'm not saying all antis are Pedos or abusers, but it's strange to me how much projection those cases involved. The instances all showed how those involved were so hellbent on how "bad" and "immoral" those who want to have sex with fictional characters are- then go an harm actual children and people.

I wish people on ANY side of ANY discourse would look and listen to the other side. I may be 100% proship but I love to listen to the (few) rational talking points of antis.

Just listen, don't try and persuade them of any other opinion. Just listen- are they making ANY valid points? Are there any sources? Do they keep recycling their statements? What is wrong with what they're saying? You don't need to interact with them, just listen to what they're sure of.

This sounds crazy but it can help you; to help if you're unsure of your stance, or if you want to be open for debates, it can help you to understand their talking points and help you to further your research.

I personally don't see my opinions and stances changing, but I'm always willing to learn and to understand the other side- because you can't just pick such radical ideas- there's always a reason even if the reasons are wrong.

If Antis say that the proship community is grooming young teenagers into said community - why is it that antis (that care so much about real people (sarcasm)) will send them death, rape and stalking threats rather than helping them get out of such a "dangerous community filled with pedophiles" if that's the case why do antis treat supposed victims like shit?

Why is it that victims who chose to cope through "problematic materials" get told that they deserve what happened to them and that nobody cares what happened to them? If antis TRULY care about victims like they love to parade they do- why aren't they helping them rather than victim blaming and harassing them?

Both sides use victims like a playing card for their points, but I'd much rather be on the side that actually let's victims express themselves even if it is through hypersexuality and "gross" content than the side that punishes victims for their ways of coping.

Prior to the remaking of my long ass rant; I have a very important announcement to make that will change the course of this account/gen;

I may begin to repost/post NSFW content and more mature content involving characters like Venom and potentially others( I'll likely make a list). I say this for any systems with fictives or people uncomfortable with such content to be wary of with my account.

I am thinking of a tag to post this under so that it can be easily blocked for those who don't want to see it.

I may make a sideblog for it but until I fully make a decision I want to warn those who may be uncomfortable with such content.

I don't think proshipping be described as a coping mechanism, now before you get upset read through the whole thing (or skip to the TLDR)

Proshipping is the following of four key principles;

Dead Dove Do Not Eat (Tags are your friends and you cannot get upset at a work that has it's warnings clearly displayed)

Fiction does not affect reality on a 1:1 ratio and the few cases that it does are often not to the scale that people claim.

The content you consume does not define you as a person morally

And Harassment, suicide baiting and threats are never warranted and are more messed up than any fictional shipping could be.

How does of that help anyone cope?

What I think people mean when they say proshipping is a coping mechanism is that taboo and or "problematic" shipping is.

I think Problematic pairing and Problematic shipping have become synonyms with Proshipping and Anti-harassment because so many proshippers do both. But, they're not the same thing and shouldn't be expressed as such.

But what do you think? I'd love to see what other people think and what they believe!

TLDR: Proshipping has become synonyms with problematic shipping- and while most problematic shippers are proship, not all proshippers are problematic shippers and that difference is important.
