i love akashi takeomi and i love akashi takeomi x sazu haruchiyo <3 they hate each other but they love each other. i think takeomi loves sanzu more than he hates him, and sanzu hates takeomi more than he loves him. i love them especially in the bonten timeline <3

jakespi i looveeee jakespi. quarspi fan also!! and i enjoy spider in general. i very much believe he’s overhated.

as for quarspi i like them but they’re not that interesting to me? quaritch is obsessed with spider and spider can’t help but love him and they’re somehow thrice forbidden (incest, age gap, enemies) but that’s really it and that’s just not very interesting to me idk

jakespi on the other hand... i’m a big jakespi fan <3 big big fan of spider pining for jake for years and trying so hard to impress him and be seen and be loved just for jake to refuse it all. it is great angst potential but i’m an even bigger fan of jake being in love with spider as well but trying to reject it. he sees home in spider, humanity, earth. he sees all the good human parts, which he so desperately misses, in spider, and he hates it. he’s left his human life behind. he doesn’t want to want (a) human. but he can’t help it. he yearns for spider and he yearns for all his humanity and he feels extra bad about it because spider is trying so hard to be na’vi but jake can’t help but only see the human in him. and then ofc their age gap and neytiri but i think spider’s humanity is the worst part for jake.

to me, jakespi is spider wanting nothing more than love and jake wanting nothing less than it </3

tho i do like jake eventually coming to peace with his want for spiders and experimenting a bit <3 without neytiri’s knowledge. so spider finally gets what he wants, but still, he has to hide it.

also as for quarjakespi... the idea of quaritch & jake not fighting about custody but about a mate is pretty funny to me especially bc i like to think of quarspi as something adjacent to exes. tho i do think they could get back together. but they don’t wanna share spider. so they’re hatefucking over who gets spider while kissing way too passionately for it to mean nothing (spider is not aware of anything that’s going on, not even of the fact that they’re both trying to court him)

#i have to add here that i’m not exactly a fan of the quarspi perception of their biggest writers on ao3 & fans on twt. nor the jakespi one #like. all those modern AUs #imo they feminize spider to too big of an extent #i’ve read some stuff and enjoyed it don’t get me wrong but i think we’ve strayed a bit too far from their canon characters #which i am fine with obv everyone can do whatever they want forever but i do wish there was more canon compliant quarspi & jakespi #bc i think esp. the latter can be a lot more interesting than the nth modern/earth AU #<- none of this is a critique for ppl writing/enjoying what i just said i’m not rlly a fan of btw. i just wish more ppl would write+#different things #i’m moreso sad abt the lack of what i enjoy haha #i do plan on writing a jakespi fic one day tho #pronupi.ask
