you came in, crashing like the first summer wave at midnight. i felt it, i knew it was coming, but i didn't expect it to be so loud. your love was more like autumn leaves falling until they turned into the harsh winter ice that laced my windshield every morning, the least pleasant thing about my day. but, alas, like the spring in your step, things always found a way to bounce back until they didn't anymore and i braced for the crash and i held my breath and closed my eyes... the clock struck midnight and it was summer once again.
crash.
