ㅤ(not so) FOND MEMORIES! a core memory for day three of fawn's shifting summer experience
ㅤthe first time mercy witnessed a curtain being cast, his senses failed him. he saw the inky black liquid dripping down from the sky, enveloping jujutsu tech in artificial night; and then he saw nothing, vision going spotty from adrenaline and anxiety. the campus fell eerily quiet– or was it just his ears going out on him, too? the bitter taste of fear spread across his tongue as his mouth went dry. just a moment ago, he had been locked in a duel with an upperclassman from kyoto; one who was set on executing itadori. now, the air was thick with the smell of ozone and plant life, and mercy stood mere feet away from the strongest cursed spirit he’d encountered yet. he became hyper aware of the blood and sweat dripping down his back from where his kagune was protruding, of the wind whipping through his torn uniform and cooling his skin. he prepared himself for the still-slightly alien sensation of retracting one kagune and unleashing another in quick succession (a skill he only recently acquired with the help of his mentor, nanami). the cursed spirit in front of him looked like something he’d see in a movie; something with exoskeleton-like skin and stems growing where its eyes should be. the spirit’s voice shattered the deafening quiet, interrupting the ringing in mercy’s ears with a language he’d never heard before but found he was still able to understand. a shiver ran up his spine as he prepared to disengage his kokaku and unleash his ukaku. he took his eyes off of the spirit to check in with the sorcerers around him; some friends, some foes with no choice but to agree to temporary alliance. he shared a quick nod with them before honing all five of his senses on hanami, his very first special grade encounter.
ㅤBAG TOUR! aka day two of fawn's shifting summer experience
ㅤmercy valentine; aka miss “what if i need it later?”, aka the original “i’ll bring it just in case”. going to school for jujutsu sorcery is nothing like going to a traditional college, but you’d never know it based on how he packs his bag. there's the essentials, comfort items that he honestly gets a little nervous without: his waterbottle, phone, chapstick, and headphones (noise cancelling, of course). then he has a few negotiables that aren’t 100% necessary but still feel important enough to keep on him. these include a small stack of books (his sketchbook, a notebook or two, and whatever he’s reading at the moment), his latest fidget/stim item, and his cane (which he really doesn’t bring with him as often as he should. he's working on it). if you were to turn his bag upside down and dump everything out, you’d be sure to find loose sticks of gum (and empty gum wrappers), a lipgloss or two, and a handful of pencils and pens rolling around at the bottom. depending on the day, a few crystals may be tucked into a smaller, more secure pocket. another pocket might be full of bracelets, necklaces, rings, and hairclips; shed only a few hours after he put them on, when they inevitably began to irritate him.
ㅤthere’s absolutely no mistaking which bag belongs to mercy. he’s got the most basic cream colored cross-body bag, but it’s decorated beyond recognition. pins he painted himself, showing off all of his favorite bands, cover the front. a big, plush monkey keychain hangs from the main zipper, and smaller trinkets adorn any hook or ring that mercy could find a way to attach them to. he loves music and monkeys and stars and anime, and if you somehow made it this far without hearing about it from mercy himself, his bag certainly lets you know.

a (long-ish) letter to dale from tokyo's jujutsu tech

ㅤnot sure when this will reach you, but as of writing this, i’ve been in tokyo for a little over a week- would have written even sooner, but it’s been nothing but chaos since the second i got here. we’ll get into that in a second. right now, i’m hanging out in my dorm, alone for the first time in days. you know just how much alone time i need better than almost anyone else, but it honestly isn’t that bad! which i think is a testament to the character of the people i’ve met here. they’re interesting, to say the very least, but it’s a good thing!! keeps me on my toes and all (the principal ATTACKED me with his cursed technique as soon as i met him </3 but i ended up getting accepted to jujutsu tech so it’s fine i guess?). there are three other first years here-
yuji (he ate a cursed object. multiple, actually. i can’t think about it for too long, it’s genuinely insane. it’s a whole thing. he does crazy shit and he’s got the biggest heart)
nobara (my beautiful best friend with a bob. she isn’t from tokyo either, so we have that in common! and her technique is sooo badass like i almost can’t believe she's real)
and megumi (he’s like actually the cutest thing but you didn’t hear that from me… he has messy black hair and blueish eyes, and he’s got this “cool as a cucumber but still very obviously cares” thing going on that has unfortunately sparked my interest. expect to hear about this again ˆᵕˆ)
ㅤthere’s also a handful of upperclassmen who are really cool, and the staff are all kinda quirky (read: GOJO) but super skilled and knowledgeable. all in all, i couldn’t have asked for a better cast of characters to introduce me to japan and to jujutsu sorcery. i’d love to introduce you to everybody someday.
ㅤnow about the chaos i mentioned before! that was probably an exaggeration. it isn’t total chaos, but i’ve been busy nonstop with learning and training and socializing and all. i sparred with other jujutsu sorcerers for the first time the other day (against megumi and maki, one of the upperclassmen). apparently whatever i have going on with my technique (which i’m told is called a heavenly restriction) is totally unusual. like, heavenly restrictions aren’t super common, but no one’s seen one like what i have. i’m not entirely sure about the larger implications, but i do know it means i’m very strong! i also went out to exorcise a cursed spirit just last night- cursed energy is genuinely on another level here. it was something else- this massive, amorphous blob that took up a good chunk of the parking garage it was found in. it was so gross •︵• nobara and i exorcised it together. i feel a little awkward using my technique in front of all these new people (that's for me to unpack. later.), but it’s good practice! for obvious reasons, but also because we have an exchange program coming up with our sister school in kyoto, and it’s best if my classmates are familiar with my skillset. speaking of which. i’ve got more practice/sparring coming up in a few minutes, and i wanna warm up and refuel my technique in my own space before heading out. so i’m gonna wrap this up here. i hope you’re doing super well, and that you and mom are both taking care of yourselves. hope you don’t miss me too much (but you better miss me, like, a little). write back soon!!

i wanna say breath of the wild. it feels like a weird choice for some reason? but i think the sheer amount of travelling that i do (on top of the responsibility of saving the kingdom) definitely qualifies as busy.

obey me- which is a little bit crazy considering how many times those brothers try to kill me right when we meet. but ultimately i think it's a real safe space for me. and really, what could make me feel safer than having seven of the strongest demons in hell at my beck and call?

i have a good amount of dangerous drs. i don't truly know if any one is more dangerous than the other, but i'm going with my supernatural dr. just because there's such a wide variety of mysterious beings i go up against (vs something like jjk or mha, where everyone has an ability that fits into an understood category).
it's niche ⸝⸝ aka your most niche dr
my more niche drs are my side quest drs- ones that i probably won't ever truly script because i don't plan on spending a lot of time there. welcome to night vale, epic battle fantasy, and my weirdcore reality (which is based on multiple old roblox games and my old ocs) fall under this category. i wanted to show a little love for my smaller drs, so i listed a few here instead of just one <33

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ going to a national park in a tropical country and baby monkeys climb onto you (bonus points if a worker takes a picture of you and you end up on the homepage)
