For real now you may be the only person I've seen not hating on Metatron. We've seen so much worse characters on this show I don't get why he's the one getting all the hate?

I firmly believe people hate him so much more than all the lame characters on the show just because he's not conventionally attractive, because everything else about him seems like perfect fandom favourite qualities. Like he's funny, he's a nerd, and his line about "when you create stories, you become gods of tiny, intricate dimensions into themselves" is iconic and it's going to be my yearbook quote this year. Like what's not to love?
