We have about three months before the inauguration, and we need to make the most of that time to organize. In the past two days I have seen an outpouring of despair, rage, grief, and hopelessness – especially here on Tumblr – and personally, I am fucking furious. But my god – if I wallow in despair, it'll fucking kill me, and I am not giving up without a damn fight. I am begging you on this site to take your rage and grief and channel it into action.
Indivisible is a progressive group formed in response to the 2016 election, and right now, they are one of many groups working their asses off to get people coordinated.
Indivisible is hosting a call tonight (November 7th) at 8pm EST / 5pm (Register Here) along with 200+ other progressive organizations to lay out concrete actions to take in the next week. They will be hosting another strategy meeting Wednesday, November 13th at 8:30pm EST / 5:30pm PST (Register Here). Show up, drag as many of your friends and family as you can to show up, and follow up wherever and however you can.
Dozens of other events – in-person rallies, online, phone-based, and more – are available here. Check your state, check your region, and get out there and MARCH if you can, or call, or talk, or anything else – if there is nothing near you, you can host your own event.
While Republicans have won the majority in the Senate, the results of the US House elections are not finalized. While the situation is grim, Democrats still have the potential to grab seats – shrinking a Republican stranglehold or even taking control of the House. Ballot curing efforts (e.g. correcting any mistakes on mail-in votes so that they are not thrown out) are ongoing in several critical states. While dates vary by state and issue, the deadline to fix signature issues is Tuesday, November 12th by 5pm locally. You can Volunteer Here to support ballot curing efforts in Arizona, Nevada, and California every day until then.
This is just one organizer out of hundreds, if not thousands. If there is something local or regional, go. If there is a protest near you, go. If there is nothing, be the first, and let them know that we're not going fucking anywhere.
If nothing else, share these opportunities with your friends and family and niche Discord servers and whoever the hell else will listen, and keep donating to progressive organizations like these ones here. We all need to have each others' backs going forward – so get out there and make sure these motherfuckers know we're going to make it a living hell for them to implement even a single one of their ghoulish policies.
