First off, no I'm not a roleplayer nor is this satire. My practice probably falls under pop culture paganism. I do consider myself an actual proxy and do actually believe in and interact with Slenderman. If this somehow bothers you, block me and move on. Don't waste your time in my askbox or notes
This serves as a personal journal blog. If you are uncomfortable with any content, block me. If I do or say something wrong I am open to correction
Now, onto a more important subject, me :)
I use he/they/it pronouns! I am fictionkin of Toby Rogers. I am also a system though I'm unsure how much that will come up. I'm somewhat new to this practice but I'm learning a lot
Despite my demeanor in this post, I am pretty friendly! I'm open to most questions, dms, ect. Feel free to reach out I'd love to chat :)
I'll link important posts below. Note that this is a sideblog, I won't be revealing my main for now. If you figure out who I am, congrats! Plz keep it to yourself for now

Slenderman has always been a deity I respected highly. I never knew until I got into the pop culture magic community that he was a real deity I could work with, so I've decided to start doing IRL proxy work. Any tips?
Hello! I've sort of become the Tumblr irl proxy guy lol, soo I do in fact have some pointers :)
First I'm going to point you to this post of mine. It covers things to be aware of before starting out!
Secondly, I suggest refreshing yourself on the canon lore! I do this by just reading through wikis to familiarize myself with what's "canon" to Slenderverse. I then have a running doc where I have two sections! One for what's canon and one for what I personally know and have experienced.
Thirdly, be cautious. This work isn't always easy. And while this reiterates what's in the post I linked, you need to be ready.
Finally, don't be afraid to reach out if you have any questions. I can't always answer everything, but I will certainly do my best to be helpful! Good luck on your journey, I hope it's everything you want and more :)
A common practice you'll on my blog is the idea of entry points and tied objects. These are words that (to my knowledge) I made up myself to describe my specific experiences. While I use them in reference to my Creepypasta based work, I think they may useful to others. Especially those who do astral work or similar practices to mine
Below I'll cover everything I can share about entry points and tied objects. I'm open to questions! And feel free to use the terminology yourself if you may find it useful
Obviously this is all very UPG and based in my own experiences. Don't take some rando on the interent's word as law
Entry Points
Entry points are simply physical things that are tied to astral locations. They may seem out of place or stand out from their surroundings. For me and my specific Slenderman practice they are commonly found in the woods. However for other practices they will likely appear differently. Another practice that may have entry points is irl pullea magis with witces labyrinths.
Entry points are often more common when a place is closer (for lack of a better word) to the physical. I don't believe every astral spaces have entry points. Some of my peers have described entry points altering the physical as well.
To my knowledge entry points cannot be purposefully created, they occur naturally. Additionally, they are not steady or permanent. Entry points may be altered or vanish. This primarily happens when either the psychical surroundings or astral location is changed. Sometimes they change or go away for seemingly no reason.
In my experience, it is easier to access an astral place with an entry point. Especially locked astral places like the mansion I visit.
Tied objects
Tied objects work similarly to entry points. They are objects that are tied to an astral location instead of a place or thing out in the world. These tied objects basically work as personal, portable entry points
Typically, the closer an object is to it's user's identity the better the link is. This may be specific to my Slenderverse practice though. However a tied object can be basically anything. I find jewelry helpful as it's subtle and can be worn anywhere.
My primary advice for this is make sure you have permission to link an astral space to a tied object if there are inhabitants. In my experience it is a large dedication and a pretty important decision to make. While you can unlink an object, while it is linked it is your responsibility to take care of that object. It is a direct link, make sure things don't go wrong
That's everything I have for now. Any questions are welcomed so long as discussion remains peaceful lol
What is like be creepypasta kin just asking :33????
Honestly I don't think it's too different from any other fictionkin type. Obviously for me I take things a bit further than most folks, but in general creepypasta fictionkin work like other media. It being a horror media might change things a little?
Since I'm specifically Toby I tend to experience things like phantom mouth scar. It's a weird feeling but you get used to it (shrug)
The longing is a little weird but is easily solved by my practices of just. Going to the mansion lol
Thanks for the question :) I hope this is a satisfying answer
I wonder if there's people out there who feel isolated when it comes to being the only one doing their style of pop culture paganism and magic, as in like... only one doing that source/character... So here's some words of encouragement from someone who does primarily PCP and has been doing this for three years now and works with a lot of more obscure sources, or at least sources I haven't seen anybody else do PCP/PCM for.
You can do it on your own. This is already a heavily built thing by each practitioner. You're gonna be okay.
It's fine if your practice is odd or strange to other people. You don't owe other people having a faith that they like, understand, or is palpable to them.
Just listen to what your entities want from you and follow your gut. You'll be fine. Your spirit guides won't purposefully lead you astray.
You don't need other people doing the same thing as you for your practice to be valid. All that's needed for it to be valid is that you're doing it. (You also don't need to copy other peoples practice for your practice to be valid, either. Same source or not.)
You're so strong and so cool and so awesome and so fun and so cool. Keep up the good work!
As a general reminder, pop culture paganism/magic is valid.
Funny that you mention that Slenderman operates similarly to a fae. 👀 I've done some studying on his lore and he has connections to Der Großmann (The Tall Man in German) from the Black Forest. An old Germanic fae creature that would abduct misbehaving children and/or stalk them until the confessed to their misbehaviour.
~ Fellow Proxy 𓂃𓂂◌💍🌷◌˳𓇬
There are 100% so many similarities between Slenderman and the fae. I will have to do some research on Der Großmann... Definitely a interestingly similar figure!
It seems everytime I speak about my proxy work I get at least one person who wants to start with it. I understand why, proxies have been romanized online and turned into something that is incredibly appealing to most people. The idea that you could actually become one is one that a lot of people jump at.
However, this concerns me. Proxy work isn't for everyone, and it definitely isn't for those without experience in things like entity work or baneful magic. While it's good to see people showing interest in such a niche practice, I worry about the way some people approach it.
So, in this post I'll cover some things to keep in mind before approaching proxy work. This isn't meant to be a true deterrent or gatekeeping, just some advice. This is also based in my own practice, and if yours differs that's fine
1. Proxy work isn't always glamours
This isn't always fun and fluffy. You are working with entities that originate from horror and it is vital you keep this in mind. While I don't go around killing people, it isn't always just hanging around the mansion laughing with the other proxies. As the name implies, proxy work is work. You are expected to contribute in ways that might not benefit you personally.
2. These are entities, not characters
Out of all horror characters, Slenderverse ones are perhaps the most fandomized. While I don't mind this usually, it becomes a problem when you bring that mentality into the spiritual work. Not every proxy will like you, in fact, it's more likely they won't. Most of the other proxies are neutral towards me at best. There are a few that are outright hostile. And perhaps most importantly, Slenderman is not a softie. He is a horror entity that causes anxiety and will want something from you. Slenderman works similarly to the fae, he may tolerate you, he may even grant you privileges or abilities, but not without reason. Similar to the above point, he won't tolerate you sitting around doing nothing.
Additionally, entities are not required to work with you.
There is no guarantee you'll be accepted as a proxy. There's not even a guarantee that you'll even be acknowledged. And if you are it may not be a pleasant experience. Proxies and even Slenderman can be extremely hostile towards those they perceive as outsiders. You have to go into this with an understanding that these entities are not your friends. Not yet at least. Approach them like you would any other person.
3. Lacking experience makes this dangerous
Do you know how to banish a spirit? Your way around the woods? How to tell if a entity is who they say they are?
Both mundane and spiritual experience are very important to this practice. The latter especially people seem to be lacking. Many people will rush into practices like proxy work without much thought. They expect it to be easy but it isn't. As I stated above, proxy work is work. And it's work that you need some level of experience to do
Because of this, I don't think proxy work is entry level spirituality
You need to know baneful magic, how to work with entities that can be dangerous, even just the basics of entity work are very important that a lot of people lack. Learn some basics before starting out on your proxy journey, it'll help you in the long run
That's everything I can think of for now. I am open the other's additions to this as well as respectful conversation.
To sum up my point, proxy work is not easy. It isn't the silly fandom game some people may think it is. It's hard and it can be scary. Go into it with the expectation that you likely won't get anything out of it, and be pleasantly surprised when you do
I want to reiterate this isn't me saying don't do proxy work. This practice has improved me and my life and I love when people show interest in it. But I worry people are going to get themselves hurt or into situations they don't know how to escape.
Apologies for the inactivity, got pretty busy all of a sudden. I will be trying to stay active again. If anyone has any questions or would otherwise like to chat, my inbox is open :)
uhhh l have a question but idk if you can answer? Anyway could becoming a proxy affect someone’s GPA. Stupid question I know 💔 I’m a straight A student 4.0 gpa and I have been interested is being a proxy for like a year now but I wanna know if being a proxy in any way affects someone’s life outside of the practice
This is somewhat of a complicated question. It obviously doesn't directly effect it, you won't start failing automatically. But it could?
I'm personally not in highschool anymore, so I can't really directly attest to proxy work and grades. However proxy work is a responsibility that comes with tasks. You have to be able to balance both that and schoolwork. Something I honestly struggle with in college
Additionally, and this is something that might be a teensy bit conversial, proxy work comes with a certain level of anxiety. Like many horror based pcw practices there is an inherent level of mental unrest. It is up to the individual to know how much they can handle, and to decide that before getting too involved in the practice
I will also say that grades aren't Everything. It's okay to mess up sometimes. Don't put too much pressure on yourself!
One thing I've learned about proxy is that there are rules. Lots of rules. And sometimes those rules interfere with what I want to do. So, let's talk about that
Note that this is based in my personal practice and UPG, you don't need to take my word as law. This also isn't roleplay, and instead falls under pop culture witchcraft(probably)
One of the major rules that I have mentioned on this blog before is that I am not able to share the exact initiation process for proxies. This is primarily based on the fact that I am a newer and low ranked proxy. From what I understand, to share that would be taking in a new proxy, intentionally or not. Because of my rank this isn't allowed. A higher ranked proxy would probably be able to talk about it. However I think even they would have to be cautious about who sees their post/message
Most proxy rules work similarly to this. The amount a rule applies depends on where you rank. Proxies are typically ranked on a sliding scale, everyone's rank is different from the other. For ease though when describing the ranks I use low, medium and high. The higher ranking you are the more freedom you have. You have proven you're capable enough and therefore are able to escape some of the rules
There are some rules that are universal though. For example, mission/task secrecy. I will never share the specifics of my tasks. Especially to those I know IRL. The amount I am allowed to share varies from person to person. I may be able to share more with an online friend then someone I know in real life. Even among online friends the amount I can share varies. Usually the closer I am to someone the less I can share, though even that varies
All this to say, being a proxy includes limitations other practices might not have. You don't get a guide book and will often have to learn the rules based on pure intuition and communication. I don't even know all of them.
For me, I have to be careful what I post. So if I am ever vague or outright don't speak about something, it is because I am not allowed to share that.
Hey, not sure how you feel about doubles and if any of this stuff is offensive or upsetting feel free not to respond.
I am also a toby. I had a pretty bad relationship with my operator and was wondering what yours was like. I'd imagine to serve him willingly you have at least a somewhat good relationship.
I was also wondering what kind of magic you do and what your dutys are as a proxy and stuff. My memories from before are kinda spotty, so I don't actually remember what my job was or why I was doing it.
Hello fellow Toby, don't worry I don't mind doubles
My relationship is.. complicated? I don't have particularly strong memories just because of how being Toby works for me. Neutral would probably be the best word for it? I didn't start working with Slenderman because of our relationship really. It just felt Correct for me. This is what I'm supposed to be doing. Though I'm sure if it was a negative relationship it might be different
I'm currently hesitating to talk about specific duties publicly and am unsure what I can talk about in dms. Sorry that I can't answer that particular question at the moment!
