People have tuned out gofundme posts, gofundme asks, gofundme lists, gofundme raffles, donation matches… all people do is scroll past the posts or reblog without actually reading/even considering to donate. I don’t know what to do to get people’s attention anymore.
It seems harsh to say, but I know most people are in the financial situations where they can donate at the very least €5 a week to a gofundme. It is such a small sacrifice to skip coffee ONE DAY a week and donate the money instead. When you look at your budget, it is important to keep in mind what expenses are not necessary for your own survival that can be used to aid someone else’s survival in Gaza.
hi! if ur feeling similarly soultorn, you live in a city or near somewhere with heavy foot traffic, and have access to a bw printer, modge podge/wheat glue and a bike, i have a semi accessible option that has been rapidly successful (it's putting up posters just going to be clear)
but! they are extremely readable! easy to make if u already spend a lot of time looking at fundraisers! and visually ambiguous as a political statement!
what i do is think of the many questions this year of war has made others and myself ask into still, thick air.
could you live without the empathy of strangers?
do you give strangers the same empathy?
how did our days become a living hell?
what will happen to us all?
do you say cruel things without thinking?
i can go on.
under this question written in bold all caps size 40 or more text, you can put a qr code to a fundraiser (gofundme generates it as a share option). and people won't tear the posters down (mostly). and people won't stop you from putting them up on public property. because the answer to the question is the gofundme.
"but nobody actually will scan a qr code with their phone" a man named hatem reached out to me a week ago for a survival fund, with a goal of 2000 € and no donations. i will not act like every donation the fund gets is because of these types of posters. but in the 5 nights since i started sharing that qr code with the questions, a quarter of that money has been raised. (his ask is the post after this on my blog)
and there are 2 100€ donations! make sure ur putting these up where rich ppl walk around/serious
previously i put up other statements, not just questions, and of course put at least 6 or 7 different fundraisers' links, you should make sure not to place the same link twice close together, if that makes sense.
the reason i think the questions are more effective is because they make the political social again. conservatives love to make social policies political (aka culture wars) but get mad when non conservatives 'talk politics in polite discussion'. but this isn't a discussion, it's a question asked from nowhere.
i rly hope people who support share this and also try to make the political more of an acceptable social conversation in their daily lives because that is the only way viewpoints will change!
Thanks @ibtisams & @statboyz for your efforts to spread my campaign. I really appreciate it.
Warm thanks to you 🌿
Wish you the best in your life
