loyal to Forster's masterpiece, this story focuses on Durham's inability to accept the guy he is, his constant and brutal attempts at hiding his true faces, the terror of being condemned because of his orientation. but he realizes he won't make it without Maurice, and he suffers. because Clive, like Hugh Grant greatly showed, is more than the boy who loved and left Maurice. he is first of all a boy who struggles with himself, who is torn between passions and conventions — and this story aims at showing this side of his.
