Being in a relationship with Jesus means you disrobe yourself of shame and put on His righteousness. Jesus never clothes you in your past; He makes you a new creation. But the just shall live by faith. You don’t try to prove yourself worthy of God’s forgiveness and kindness; you believe your way into His fullness through what His Son accomplished. If you never start where Christ finished, you’ll never run well because you’ll never find the faith to love yourself as Christ does, and your neighbor as you love yourself.
