Skeleton Panda Sea Tunicate Appreciation Post!!! 💀 🐼 🌊
Clavelina ossipandae, the skeleton panda sea tunicate is a species of colonial ascidian, also known as sea tunicates, a group of sessile, marine filter-feeding invertebrates. Just some funky little guys!
First discovered near Kume Island in Japan by local divers, pictures of the animal attracted media attention in 2017. But they weren't given their formal taxonomic description until 2024
Love to sea it 🌊

ok.... opinions on unscrapping this for a sticker design have been noted 😳
Do you think, at some point on their journey, the salmon realize they're not coming back? Knowing that they've never heard any old salmon telling stories of the journey back? Do they regret swimming? Do they regret continuing to exhausting themselves? Do they keep swimming because that's all they can do? Have any of them willingly jumped into the maw of the bear for a quick end, exhausted and unwilling to continue? Or do they come to terms with the fact that they are going to rot away, not getting the chance to see their babies hatch. Continuing to swim, knowing that in their death, their children will live to see the ocean for them.

Day two of drawing dumb little sharks until I learn how to draw sharks: The thresher shark! I spent more time on this one and I hope it shows! Also if you know how to draw sharks id love feedback! This lil guy uses his tail as a sort of whip in order to bonk their prey. A thresher sharks tail can be up to 3 meters (around 9 feet) long on the common thresher sharks (the biggest ones)! Also did you know that they're also referred to as the fox shark? I think thats pretty neat :)
deeply obsessed with the salmon edit by _olive_ridley on TikTok
I'm baffled that some people seem to think this video/post is a joke & find it funny that someone ascribed emotions & music to the salmons' journey, as if that's new. Humans around the world have told stories about salmon since time immemorial. Salmon are sacred symbols of life, loss, and recovery. In many places, depletions tell stories of colonialism and genocide, and their recovery is a victory hard-won by Indigenous activism.
It's impossible to overstate the necessity Salmon have been to entire cultures for tens of thousands of years.
I get that the humor around this video may not be "that deep," but capitalism and colonialism divide us all from the sacredness and inherent value of all lives. Many of us have become completely disconnected from the cycles of life which support us every day and from the food that nourishes us. If a music edit about salmon moves you, hold onto that. Foster that! Salmon have always moved us. Listen to a story in Tlingit about the Salmon People:
