LUKA !

                   his right knee kissed the ground first , immediately followed by the other as he knelt before her. his hands wrapped around her waist again , more gently than the last time , pulling her securely to him. her legs on either side of his torso && his front pressed to the edge of the bed , they were eye to eye now. all traces of his previous wounded fury was gone from the chiseled planes of his face , instead replaced by the gentle wisdom of a being who’d been alive for a millennia              && endless devotion for the girl in front of him.  ❝  do i look let down to you , my love ?  just as you have forgiven my countless sins , i forgive yours. being what we are , it would be impossible to expect we never slip up. our lives would be impossible to live if we constantly beat ourselves up over our mistakes. ❞  he was aware that she wasn’t a saint ; he knew that. but no matter how many lives were ended by her hands , that didn’t change how he saw her. he leaned into her touch , upper lids lowering slightly at the feel of her soft skin on his.  ❝  just so you know ,❞  he murmured ,  ❝ the one thing i will not forgive you for is leaving me. should you start to feel that way again , simply come to me && i will calm your fears. i am alive for nothing if not to take care of you ; you are the most important thing in my life. i could live for a thousand more years && never find anything that satisfies me like you do. i will be anything you need , including a pillar of strength for you to lean on when you feel weak. ❞  he was pressing soft kissed to her exposed shoulder , well aware of how this would look to outsiders. originals bowed to no one , yet here he was , kneeling before what others would think was a random hybrid. if only they knew she was what kept the sun in the sky , what kept the earth spinning. she was the center of everything.

                      dark hues flickered as he knelt before her, small frame leaning further into him the minute his arms wrapped around her. legs wrapped around him tightly, small hands slipping past his shoulders as she hugged him tighter - if possible. doe like orbs searched his own, small frame melting slightly at his words. he had that affect on her, constantly easing her troubles and keeping her afloat. ❝ i’m so completely and utterly in love with you, luka erikson. ❞ feminine silky voice was soft, barely a whisper as she allowed her slim digits to race through his soft locks once before her small hand slipped back to his cheek, head tilted slightly as she took in his features, updating the memory she had deeply imprinted in her brain. gentle smile tugging at full heart-shaped lips as he leaned further into her touch, dark optics lingering on his hues before she leaned closer, gently brushing her lips against his. she was still as he spoke, eyes attentively locked on his before she registered his words and pulled away from his face, hiding her own in the crook of his neck. feathery kiss pressed against the side of his neck before she glanced up at his profile. ❝ i am sorry, though. ❞ faith let out admittedly but continued to scatter gentle kisses around his neck, sometimes jaw. ❝ besides... no matter how far i wander, my heart is always with you. i’m yours and you know it. ❞ faith huffed out, seemingly teasing lips reaching the spot below his ear before traveling right back to his jaw. ❝ i satisfy you, is that what you said ?? ❞ the lithe hybrid hummed quietly

NICKLAS !

“Is that it?” When he was his normal self he was far more comforting than this. Nicklas was returning back to his old ways, a much worse version of his past self. “Our kind is designed to kill, you know this.” A fact he was becoming far too comfortable with. “It’s in our nature.” 

                       something inside of her snapped at his words, dark hues calculating as she eyed him intensively. ❝ no. ❞ her tone was firm, dark hues continuing to study him as she shook her head. slender digits threaded through chestnut locks, small frame moving closer towards the familiar original. ❝ you may think it’s in your nature, you may want it to be in your nature but killing is in no one’s nature, nicklas. it’s not in yours, it’s not in your family’s and it’s not in mine. you saying that is just an excuse to try and justify your actions. ❞ with every word, her feet carried he closer until she was standing right in front of him - cautious hues narrowing slightly to study him further before her small hand reached forward, capturing his face - fingers squishing his cheeks before she continued to examine him, dark optics searching lighter ones. ❝ what happened to you ?? ❞

LEONA ! 

“edge of the roof… nice place to pass time.” leona retorted, arms folding over her chest. though, it was slight hypocritical since she’d come up here as well. but it certainly wouldn’t be her first spot to pass the time. not when there was a whole forest for her to run through. “new orleans too crowded for you?”

                       ❝ you seem to think so. ❞ the hybrid fired back quietly, her reply not doing much to hide the fact that she had caught on to the hypocrisy. ❝ currently. ❞ faith nodded in confirmation, dark hues flickering towards the other before she released a deep breath.

NICKLAS !

“It’s fine.” He sighed, there was no need for him to be angered over it. It would just mean one more disaster to add to his plate. “Did something happen?” There must of been, he found it to be unusual that she left without a word. Perhaps she learnt that from him. “You could have come to me, you know.”

                       studying him silently, the small framed brunette would bite her bottom lip - mind seeming to race with different ways of admitting to what she had done. impulsively, words spilled from rosy like lips before the hybrid could stop herself. ❝ i killed someone. ❞ faye let out quietly, dark hues wide with nerves as she pressed her body closer to the wall of the rooftop. ❝ i know... i just - didn’t know how. ❞

SOLANA !

“ you come here often ?? ” she asked rhetorically as she leaned close but not too close to where the girl was. “ didn’t know others came up here. ”

                     ❝ not enough... ❞ she let out half-jokingly before turning to glance at the stranger. ❝ not many do, honestly. ❞

ANNALEI !

Her eyes narrowed at the mention of what she was. Annalei didn’t need or want to be reminded. She exhaled slowly and adjusted herself in her seat. “Don’t know who they are or why they’d be mad at you, but I hope things work out.” She looked out into the distance, searching for something to rest her eyes on. “Fresh?” Her eyes stopped on a red light that blinked on and off; it was probably for low flying planes.  “I don’t even want to imagine how that smells like to you. None of this feels real if I’m being honest.” 

                      faith nodded slowly, a soft appreciative smile forming on full lips at the other’s words. ❝ my... boyfriend, i guess you’d say now a days. i sort of up and left so... ❞ faith let out quietly, dark hues settling back on the girl after drifting towards the sidewalk below them.. ❝ yes, fresh. nothing too bad, really - you just... still have that human scent lingering around you. not faint enough to be due to their presence but strong enough to come from yourself. ❞

LUKA !

                        what a silly creature she could be. while he certainly understood being overcome with guilt , to simply disappear instead of relying on him to comfort her boggled his mind. what else was he here for ?  ❝  i can look at you , précieux , because i have done far worse ,  ❞  he murmured , resting his forehead on the crown of her hair.  ❝  my love for you will never die , no matter what you do. no matter what , you belong to me , just as i to you. ❞  he gave a small , ironic smile.  ❝  you will not believe those words if i say them to you , but you expect me to believe them when you speak them to me ?  how unfair.  ❞  he , even after his millennia of living , was somewhat at a loss of what to say. how could he explain how much she truly meant to him ?  she could kill him with her own hands , && his affections would still never be quelled. she lit up his world , that which had been so dark && stained with the blood of the innocent , had become something worth waking up to every morning. like her , his guilt never subsided , never completely             sometimes the monsters that clawed at his very being were victorious , but she was always the life raft that brought him back to reality. her fate was entwined with his until the end of time ; he wouldn’t allow anything else. he took her small hands in his , lifting them to his lips.  ❝  tainted ?  where ?  all i see are the hands that singlehandedly saved me from oblivion. listen well , milaya          i will love you with every little bit of everything that has ever consumed me && i will forever love you. i will forever find you in every life time && so on.until the stars die out && the universe goes dark ; but even then , my love will remain. je le jure.  ❞

                      his scent overcame her senses, dark hues fluttering shut as she further inhaled the unmistakably comforting smell of her one true love. sharp breath was inhaled, few more tears slipping from her control and streaming down her tanned cheeks.  ❝ but i’ve let you down. ❞ she whispered, subconsciously leaning closer to him. ❝ it sounds hypocritical when you say it like that, don’t you think ?? but i couldn’t believe it because you were depending on me to pull you back if the darkness threatened to suck you back up and i - how can i do that if i’ve given in myself ?? ❞ gentle optics seemed hazy, a war of emotions taking place right in the depths of her usual doe like orbs. love would take no part in said war - it had no need to do so. love knew where it stood and it stood with him. small frame seemed to melt as his hands took hold of hers, his touch seemingly mesmerizing her. somehow, the small hybrid was able to hold her breath, eyeing his features as he brought her hands up to his lips. faith’s heart fluttered, head tilting slightly as she attentively listened to his voice, his words registering in her mind. it was then that it dawned on her... no matter what they did, no matter how far from their morals they wandered, how far they traveled, how many people wanted them separately or how lost they felt - they would always find their way back to each other. he was all she had and he was all she wanted. ❝ je suis vraiment désolé. ❞ faye whispered, one of her hands slipping out of his to gently trace his jaw - the way she had done so many times, the way she had done so that night. ❝ i shouldn’t have left, i know - but i was not in my state of mind... they had messed with my brain. i could feel my humanity slipping and the further i got from here the more control i had. i should never have done that... i felt your absence every second of every day and i hope believe that. eu estou eternamente ligado a você, eu estou apaixonado por você e eu não ousaria tê-lo de outra maneira. ❞

LUKA !

                          he sighed softly ; this again ?  he moved to the side of the bed , leaning over her && resting his hands on the comforter on either side of the hybrid. ❝ dushka , do you even realize who you are talking to ?  the word monster was basically created to describe me            they call me the ripper , for god’s sake. what you are describing sounds a lot more like me than you. ❞ hell , he even still had times where he would give into his instincts && kill someone , just because he felt like it. in fact , one could very easily argue he was the reason she ever felt this way ; after all , she’d only become what she was because he’d almost killed her.  ❝  if anything , you would be the one to stop loving me , not the other way around ,  ❞ he murmured , kissing the crown of her head. the idea of the opposite happening ?  how ludicrous.

                      faith shook her head at his words, tears forming in gentle optics. dark brown locks shifted from left to ride, mocking her head’s motions.  ❝ no, no you don’t understand. ❞ faith cried out quietly, hands finding their way into her hair. slender digits tangled in her roots as she tugged slightly before releasing a helpless huff. ❝ i... i killed someone. i dug my hand right into her chest and i watched how the f e a r filled her eyes the minute my fingers touched her beating heart. i wanted to stop, i... but something inside of me did not let me. so i pulled it right out of her chest and i watched the life drain her eyes... she had a family, tesoro. she... how can you look at me ?? i - ❞ small hands would cover her face for a few seconds, lungs fighting to inhale air before she slowly allowed her hands to fall back to place, watery optics searching his own. ❝ you are more than that, corazon. you are not your mistakes. ❞ her heart ached at his words. she knew he felt guilt for what he had done so long ago but faith couldn’t quite find it in her to ever hate him. she loved him. he was hers to love and cherish. he was her original, her soulmate, her other half and if the world would see him as a ripper then they would know that he was her ripper. ❝ i could never stop loving you, luka erikson. not ever. you are a part of me, you always will be. if anyone is to think that i’m a fool for saying that then i’m a fool but i’m a fool for you. ❞ small hands were unsteady as she slowly brought a hand towards his cheek, fingertips itching to feel him. faith was incomplete without him and with every passing second she would feel his absence. still, the fear of what she would become had moved her to run, afraid to admit to what she had done... the realization had her motions stopping, instantly bringing her hand back to her chest. ❝ they’re tainted, can’t you see ?? ❞

                       small hands tightened around his jeans the minute his large hand came down on her ass, quiet groan following. lithe frame collided with soft mattress, doe like hues studied her other half for a few seconds before the steady beating of her heart quickened, chest tightening with guilt as she glanced away from him. slender digits tangled in chestnut locks before faith rested her forehead on her palm, elbow on her knee to effectively hide her face. lungs tightened as she held her breath. shaking her head at his words and biting her bottom lip tightly. slowly, faith would remove her forehead from her hands, sitting cross-legged and resting her hands on her thighs, palms facing up before releasing a soft whimper. ❝ i’m a monster. i couldn’t stay because you wouldn’t love me anymore. how could you ?? i’m not good anymore. there’s b l o o d on my hands. ❞ her voice was soft but urgent, helpless as chocolate orbs avoiding his own optics, ashamed, to finally voice her darkest fears.

NICKLAS !

“Where the hell have you been?” He blurted before he had time to think of what to say. He wasn’t mad, well maybe a little, he was more so worried about her. “Would it have killed you to at least let me know you were okay?” It was unusual for him to snap like this, he was quite understanding of people suddenly disappearing considering he did it countless times himself. He just had far too much stress in his life as of late.

                       faith flinched slightly at his tone, dark gaze drifting to her feet as he continued to speak. ( of course he’s mad... you left. ) slowly, she’d shake her head at his question before releasing a soft whine before eyeing her hands suspiciously as if afraid he could see the blood that she was so sure tainted them. ❝ i’m sorry, nick. ❞ faye let out helplessly, allowing her arms to fall back against her sides.

LUKA !

                              ❝  so , you have finally returned.  ❞  his voice was quiet , gentle             but it did an awful job of hiding the fury that was stirring just below the surface. his shadow completely engulfed her much smaller body , light eyes narrowed down at her. the time he’d spent after she’d disappeared had been less than great , && it showed on his face. large hands wrapped around her waist , effortlessly picking her up && tossing her over his shoulder. he started purposefully heading to his home , his voice still deadly quiet. ❝  you better have a damn good reason for leaving.  ❞

                        small frame froze as soon as the scent hit her but her knees seemed to lock the minute his voice reached her ears. her back remained to him a second too long, dark gaze studying the way his shadow overtook her own. slowly, she’d spin on her heels - dark hues flying towards his s u n f l o w e r like optics, head seeming to spin as she nodded slowly. ❝ yes... well, i - ❞ her voice was cut off as his large hands wrapped around small waist, hands flying to grip the back of his shirt as soon as she was over his shoulder, a soft squeal leaving her full plump lips. goosebumps covered silky porcelain like skin while the brunette gently looped her fingers on the hoops of his jeans. faith remained silent, however, as he spoke - bottom lip held captive between her teeth.

ANNALEI !

Cute. This kid was cute. Someone decided to name her Faith. Annalei glanced over at her and looked away before returning her gaze once more. Slowly, she nodded. She didn’t have much experience in the way the world, especially now that she discovered that there was a whole addition she never knew about, but from the little she knew, anyone named after a belief tended to lack it and she wondered if it was the same for this girl. “Annalei. I didn’t know that people came up here too. I guess it’s a good place to think.” 

                       small hybrid studied the other brunette a bit longer, curiosity dancing in her dark optics. that is, until the breeze carried her scent towards faith and then she understood. ❝ a vampire. ❞ her voice was soft, cautious even as she voiced her thoughts. slowly, an eyebrow would raise and the hybrid eyed the new orleans city lights. ❝ i’ve just gotten back and i needed to prepare myself before going back fully. i’m afraid they’ll all be mad at me… but i’ll take it you’re a newborn ?? your scent is still a bit fresh. ❞

TOVE !

            SOMETHING FEELS slightly askew. the tilt & shift of the atmosphere that surrounds her is something he wishes to hone in on, to piece together like a disjointed, magical puzzle. but he won’t — privacy is something he respects far too much, it’s line he refuses to cross with faye unless she invites him over the threshold. ❝ you can practice your punches on me, penny, if you like… see if your fist flies right through. dead man floating.❞ he can hear it: the thrum of her heart against her ribcage, the thick pulse of blood through her veins – the half life that accompanies being the right kind of hybrid. ❝ have i ever told you how much i truly loathe your company? i think i’ll refrain from elaborating because, let’s be real, you’re in for a fun time when the big shots find you… if they haven’t already. i suppose i am too, but being a masochist means i’m willing to stall for you, even if it means more trouble for me in the long-run. ❞

                       once doe like hues, soft and caring - gentle while hosting a disarming curiosity now held guilt. the small hybrid judged herself harshly after their last encounter, given, he had n o t h i n g to do with it. self-loathing had invaded her mind, subconscious passed time reminding her of what she had done. chocolate like orbs would study him as he spoke, attentively picking up on each of his motions. small hands tangled in silky chestnut locks as she shook her head at his words. ❝ i don’t think i could hit anyone, ever. without reason. besides... i can’t punch to save my life. wait !! what did you just call me ?? ❞ faith would admit quietly, smooth feminine voice hanging around the atmosphere. dark orbs seemed intense, eyeing him cautiously before offering him a genuine smile. hating others, even if bystanders, was something that faith could never accomplish - no matter how hard she tried. judgement was never her friend, not when it came to others. perhaps that was why she so easily learned to cherish the eriksons. maybe that is why she didn’t resist when her heart first fluttered at the sight of luka erikson. while the name would bring fear into the eyes of others, all having heard of the ripper - faith had never felt safer. it was why she stood before this hybrid, one she now called a friend, and fought to swallow her nerves. ( he doesn’t deserve to have me judge him for other’s mistakes. not all witches are the same. ) his first words had her hues narrowing with shock - not one had ever told her they loathed her company. still, she was silent and allowed him to finish. ❝ do you really ?? loathe my company, that is. if that were true then why would you willingly join me ?? don’t scare me, tovey. why would stalling me bring you trouble ?? ❞

LEONA !

the presence of another on the rooftop irked her. leona was convinced that no one else would ever come up here. but obviously she was mistaken. the smell of the other female filled her nose as the wind blew it towards her. not  a wolf, not a vampire. but hybrid. those she hated most. “you’re not going to jump, are you? that’d make quite a mess,” leona addressed he brunette.

                        eyeing the other hesitantly while registering her words, the small framed hybrid would scoff, shaking her head slowly. ❝ no. it wouldn’t do much anyways. ❞ faith shrugged silently, fully aware that the other was a werewolf.  ❝ not that i wanted to either. i’m simply... passing time. ❞ she added simply, chocolate hues flickering back towards the city.

TOVE !

             ❝ OI, RAPUNZEL. ❞  he can’t quite fit the feeling of relief into his chest at the sight of her –  a veiled kind of gladness perhaps that she seems entirely unscathed since they’d last spoken. tove does, however, manage to maintain the mask of indifference that frames his outward opinion of her; that, and the mask of pure irritation that doesn’t seem quite as appropriate. ❝ all that hair blocking your ears or are you just ignoring my presence in favour of acting like you’re in a music video? ❞

                        turning at the familiar voice, faith’s dark hues narrowed slightly before she recovers and offers him a s m a l l smile. ❝ if it isn’t mostly ghostly himself. ❞ faith joked light-heartedly, seemingly ignoring the deep pounding of her heart against her chest. last time she saw him she had been taken by those god awful witches. the ones who screwed with her humanity. they drew her away, they stained her hands with blood. ❝ ignore lovey dovey tovey’s presence ?? never. i was simply rehearsing, you know... so i’m prepared when the big shots find me. ❞

ANNALEI !

Rooftops weren’t always her style. Before things changed, she was more of a bar kind of girl and she got her relaxation and comfort from strangers. They were good for shallow connections and thinly stringed together fun, but now, she couldn’t quite tolerate people. She just wanted to isolate herself from them all, so she decided to find herself a lonely place. It was a little surprising to see someone else at this spot, but she wasn’t going to leave any time soon. “Do you mind if I sit here?” She asked, taking her place not too far from the other girl.

                        dark chocolate hues fixed on the girl, silently studying her before shaking her head and turning back towards the view. ❝ not at all. ❞ faith let out quietly, slowly resting her head on the side of her arm and eyeing the erikson mansion in the distance. ❝ i’m... faith. ❞ she let out, seemingly unable to help herself. it felt r u d e to stand there silently and ignore the other after she asked to join, something that she didn’t have to do seeing as it was a public space. the least faith could do was introduce herself.

NICKLAS !

Nicklas was certain his eyes were playing tricks on him. He blinked several times to ensure he wasn’t just seeing things. He thought he’d never see her face again. “Faith?” He called out, wondering if he would get a response. He was still considering this as some sort of hallucination of his.

                        small frame froze, tensing slightly as her best friend’s voice reached her sensitive ears. biting her bottom lip lightly, she inhaled a deep breath before slowly turning to meet his familiar light hues. her heart had dropped, lungs tight due to the shortage of air as she searched his expression, afraid he’d be mad. slowly, she offered him a gentle smile and nodded her head. ❝ h-hi, nicky. ❞
