in my mind jason would’ve been so disappointed he couldn’t pass off as nightwing with the discowing suit in brothers in blood
imagine looking up your brothers suit to impersonate him and become a serial killer and he had such a DOWNGRADE in personality for the costume, the potential for dramatic blood splatters is much less and the overall drama automatically dropped by at least 5 levels it is unacceptable </3
A forgotten photo
slightly late for a jason death day/aditf post but, willis having sheila in his address book because he met her when he briefly went to med school and he scheduled an abortion for his partner but sheila got caught and fled the country meaning that the abortion didn’t happen, the partner leaves willis with jason because she didn’t want to have a kid and willis is a slightly reluctant parent however he starts dating then marries catherine and catherine ADORES jason leading to willis being slightly resented and jason being more attached to catherine as suggested in batman 408, sheila hears jason’s story in aditf and vaguely recognises willis within jason and takes this as an opportunity to pull a con to get bruce wayne money, meaning once she found out jason was robin sheila MADE SURE that abortion happened even if it was 13 years late

Hello I had a thought :)

man this secret identity thing is difficult
hello tumblr do we like primehood over here
You know what, actually I think there is an argument to be made that Cass would like Jason, why? Because her strongest association for him is Stephanie Brown, who she fucking adores. If Steph had snapped and killed black mask instead of holding back because of what batman told her and getting killed when mask uses her mercy to turn the tables, I don't think Cass would've dropped her, even if Steph doubled down and continued to kill villains, I think she would've fought with her and it would've been messy and painful and terrible and heartwrenching but it would've been all that because the love would still remain. I think all the reasons Steph makes Cass laugh or feel seen would be similarly resonant (if necessarily different because they'd meet at different points in their lives and he wouldn't be cass' first real friend/girlfriend) if she was to actually spend any time with Jason. I understand having her hate Jason because of their diametrically opposed philosophies really I do, but I think it would be ten times juicier if Cass keeps coming at him expecting a fight and then he'll just act so Steph-like that it leaves her unmoored and struggling to recalibrate in time for the moment when he does do a Red Hood thing. I also think it's important to keep in mind that Cass sees herself as a murderer whose life is worth less than that of anyone she can save, her m.o. with criminals is to either see them as obstacles to beat up or to project on them and try to redeem them in order to subconsciously redeem herself, and Jason first and foremost isn't just a killer, he's a murder victim, he's a kid who was beaten to death and hates his killer, Cass, with all her fantastically interesting neuroses is more likely in some scenarios to position herself as the joker/the murderer whose victim wants her to pay than to one dimensionally condemn Jason for his sins.
Like don't get me wrong I can also think of a lot of scenarios where she swallows down the party line/whatever Bruce (or Barbara's) spiel on Jason's character is at the time and acts accordingly treating him like a thug or just another rogue, especially considering she follows along with the treatment of Steph in an attempt to protect her because she 'wasn't good enough/was going to get killed like jason' and trusts them. But acting like the only possible outcome of Cass and Jason's dynamic is hatred is to utterly ignore the nuances of the characters in question and their deeply personal/trauma-based relationship with their respective beliefs when it comes to Justice and Murder.
should've been canon imo
Stephcass story in 3 parts
lost days jason platonically developing hanahaki disease for bruce and he sets up hush to try to make sure his love is requited but bruce saying jason knew he was loved is not enough because of the implication that the jason standing in front of him is not considered the same person. so he sets up under the hood in order to make sure bruce answers his question of love in the most assured way possible, by asking him if he’d throw away his ideals for one second so that jason can get his own justice. the batarang hits jason’s throat but somehow the only pain he can focus on is the flowers forcing his way out of his lungs
On: things that fucked me up today!
One of Tim's main reasonings for becoming Robin in ALPoD is "we can't let villains think they can kill Robin", which is supported by Harvey, and later KGBeast assuming Tim is Jason. This means that it's likely most people in Gotham believe the robins are Dick, Tim, Steph, and Damian. Jason's deeds as Robin have been fully erased, retroactively added to Tim's tenure as Robin.
Except for one thing! Joker repeatedly says that he killed Robin. Calls it "It's the day I won", makes a big deal out of it. (yes, Joker is the only one that has ever made an effort to maintain Jason's legacy as Robin. no wonder he was mad)
So that's it right, the people do know Jason existed, right? Well no. Because of Batman 408. In it, we learn the post crisis reason for Dick retiring as Robin: Joker shot him, and Bruce decided to forcefully retire Robin. It's stated that the people think Robin is dead. And considering two issues later Jason calls himself the second Robin, that's unlikely to have been disproved.
So, when people hear Joker bragging about killing Robin, they're likely to assume he's talking about the first one. Even Jason's death gets added to someone else's legacy.
Tim stole Jason's life as Robin. Dick stole his death.
If you all want me to suspend my disbelief for the concept of "good cops" and "altruistic billionaires with empathy for other people" you also have to accept that Jason's controlling-crime-by-running-it method could also be done in a moral way. You can argue effectiveness if you know enough about what you're talking about for your points to hold weight, but if your stance on it starts and stops at "crime bad, no good crime lord, not how that works in the real world" I'm going to laugh in your face.
Sorry to put you on blast but it really is insane. Bruce is grieving Jason and brutalizes several people and almost kills some guy and faces no legal consequences and even gets a new child to parentify and endanger. Barbara literally is Big Brother she is a surveillance state she steals the governments bombs to use whenever she wants however she wants and has chips in the brains of both allies and enemies AND her dad is the police chief who let's her do whatever she wants and I guess we all just have to hope and pray she never becomes compromised or has a mental break and does something horrible. Cass isn't above crippling blows and I would argue her sympathy towards criminals only extends to those she can personally relate to. Dick was a cop who has also worked with the government and Slade Wilson ostensibly to "fix things from the inside" which didn't work and will never work and he keeps doing it anyway. The bats routinely allow villains to get away if they perceive them as redeemable or they have a personal connection to them, so much so that them all having villainous partners is a meme. They are all violent criminals imposing their own biased views of justice on the rest of the world and they're pretty much all either actively abusing their positions of power to do so or very comfortable using corrupt systems to their advantage to deal with crime (the prison industrial complex, for instance, which I recall Steph specifically being very gung-ho about "I want you dead but I think you should suffer so I'm going to knowingly hand you over to an ineffective and abusive system to make you miserable until you break out and I can beat the shit out of you again"). Fucks sake Helena is literally the daughter of a crime family whose literally doing All Of That to avenge people who were probably morally bankrupt themselves. It's ridiculous to apply real world logic to Jason's philosophy and methods but no one else's. That is a moronic double standard I will NOT tolerate. If you're going to say Jason has never helped anyone/his philosophy would never work in the real world you better keep that worldview CONSISTENT. Nothing about illegal vigilantes are ethical in the long term and in Gothams case specifically the place is so cursed that they are ALL useless in the grand scheme of things because Bruce won't call his close childhood friend and Prime Magus Zatanna Zatara to snap her fingers and simply remove it.
Went to an Oedipus Rex adaption today and my friends were debating whether the Oedipus/Jocasta age gap was problematic. Like guys…I think their relationship has bigger issues
